    Hey Big John!

Here's a few song suggestions for you (sorry for getting carried away with my list):

"Wipe Out" - The Safaris, 1963 (came 2 years before I was born but heard this a lot growing up at home)
"Dirty Water" - The Standells, 1966
"Land Of 1000 Dances" - Wilson Pickett, 1966
"Pushin' Too Hard" - The Seeds, 1966
"Groovin'" - The Young Rascals, 1967
"Expressway To Your Heart" - Soul Survivors, 1967
"Bend Me, Shape Me" - American Breed, 1968
"Young Girl" - Gary Puckett & The Union Gap, 1968
"Sunshine Of Your Love" - Cream, 1968
    "White Room" - Cream, 1968
"Smile A Little Smile For Me" - The Flying Machine, 1969
"Ride Captain Ride" - Blues Image, 1970
"Fresh Air" - Quicksilver Messenger Service, 1970
    "Tighter, Tighter" - Alive & Kicking, 1970
"Green Eyed Lady" - Sugarloaf, 1970
"Spill The Wine" - War, 1970
"Indiana Wants Me" - R. Dean Taylor, 1970
"Ball Of Confusion" - The Temptations, 1970
"Reflections of My Life" - The Marmalade, 1970
    "Hitchin' A Ride" - Vanity Fare, 1970
"One Toke Over The Line" - Brewer & Shipley, 1971
"You Know What I Mean" - Lee Michaels, 1971
"Hold Your Head Up" - Argent, 1972
"Go All The Way" - Raspberries, 1972

I vividly remember these songs (and a LOT more - plus watching The Bugaloos on the tube) when I was very young in the early 70's. I was going to put some "harder" songs on the list but I think this is probably a good start.

Any song by the Mamas and Papas would be good--such as "California Dreaming," and "Dedicated to the One I Love."

Also, "Turn, Turn, Turn" by the Byrds would be a good one.

    Best of luck!
