I loved to watch the Bugaloo's as a kid. I wanted to be Joy when I grew up. I still remember some of the words of the song...this was great entertainment growing up. Wish my kids had that! I'm going to have to go buy the DVD so my youngest can watch it. I'm sure she'd LOVE it!!

Just introduced John to The Bugaloos, one of my favorite memories! It came out right about the time I graduated from High School in western NY state. Was interesting to find out that "Big" John lives just north of us here in Arizona. The Bugaloos will live long after we are gone and it is really neat to know that generations from now will know who they are! I too wish there had been a second season. Long live The Bugaloos!

Thank you Sid and Marty Krofft for planting a seed of both music, theatre, and costuming in me as a very shy, clumsy, but gifted 6 year old with "The Bugaloos". Sparky the firefly was about the only character that I could identify with, because he taught me how to have confidence in your abilities. I was heartbroken when Mr. Billy Barty passed away back in December 2000. Even 40 years later, I think The Bugaloos rock! Great acting, singing, and scriptwriting. I was so happy to hear that they have a DVD, and seeing the their incredible episodes again. Big hug to all, (wish I could have met Mr Barty before his passing-such a great actor), and continue to support the greatest children's show... The Bugaloos!! Got to find the DVD!!!! I love the Bugaloos !! I remember watching them as a kid with my brother & sister. For some reason they don't remember remember, thogh. I have the Bugaloos Cd, and it sounds great, bringing back a lot of memories.. I would love to get all the episodes on DVD, to share them with my daughter. She likes to listen to the CD too. I also always wondered if there were ever any "unreleased" songs that were recorded, but never put to vinyl. That would be a find !! Thanks Bill for putting up this website, to remind us all of our childhood, and pass along those memories to our children.

Just like the other comments, I have great memories of watching HR Puffnstuff, Land of the Lost, Superfriends, Josie & the Pussycats and, of course The Bugaloos! I'm born in 1965, not a "Baby Boomer, but certainly not a Gen X or Gen Y. A kinda in between generation that no one pays attention to. long time-no seeeeeee! im glad to drop by about the bugaloos website. the last time i connect the website was four years ago because a intercharge monster called youtube gets me a hint about those old episodes but when i heard about michael's passing i had decided to feast my eye on my honey from the old days,and i really missed thiose days. i remember my friends nene,shayna and their brother pedro watch you and the j5 cartoon every saturday morning back when my mother talk with their mother mrs. ortiz,i knew her by calling her mrs. and i also love the song the senses of our world, i adore that song that much. everything is simple until everything changed, my friends went with other children when they got older,and i dont want them to be with them. in christmas of 1983,they move to florida. throughout the years, i dont care about nothing but my friends, italk about them when talked to my self.i loved talked to my self and your show,but things got worse when my mother putme to babysit at some stranger's house and i was raped by junkies in her house, i was only three. i always the good times opf your show because tv asnd writing songs and poems was my life. thank god for the bugaloos because now, i know how things will be better at the end of a rainbow. i open a family non profit organization to help to bring back ther basics of good family values. i dont care what i influenced and tv was my life im a musician, i love theme music and i adore your theme song too. i love the ending when you say"we're living young and high'in free." thank god i love to be with people. i also love gay people but i dont except their lifestyle. i had to help my gay friend to look within herself and be strong. in this world everyday people will pick on you, especailly in public schools. i sung the song you sung the senses of our world. really meant to all of us to keep things natural and unified,because god created us but he dont make mistake. thanks bugaloo for all you done. thanks, oxox.

Wow! I stumbled on Secrets of Isis on Netflix and started to wonder about tv shows I watched as a kid. HR Puffnstuff (that right?), the Banana Splits (Danger Island...UH OH! CHANGO!!!), and of course...the Bugaloos. Now I was born the year that the show was first aired...so didn't see an episode until I was about 6 years old.
I remember the catchy songs (loved the Monkey's at the time and...Lord help me...Brady Six/Silver Platters..HEY! I was a kid! And who could forget Johnny Bravo? lol), and had the BIGGEST CRUSH on JOY! Sparky kinda freaked me out...but Joy made it all the more better.
I know Joy was a butterfly...but at the time she was a Fairy to me (Peter Pan-esque...thingy)...and I swore I was gonna marry her. Girl next door good looks. Caroline you were HOT! Yes...that was coming from a 6 year old (turned 40). lol. And I'm sure you're still drop dead gorgeous!
Great stories, fun times...loved every minute of the show. Joanna Cameron (Isis) and Caroline Ellis (Joy Bugaloos) 70's were great!..*sigh*...sorry...catching my breath!
Thanks for the website...great to hear how all the bugaloos are doing. Wish the movie actually came to surface...would love to show it to my nieces and nephews.

Wow! I was born in 1997, and discovered a DVD featuring the Bugaloos. My friend and I love it! Except Sparkly the firefly is the ugliest thing in the world. My mom told me the thing always disgusted her; she can't watch the show without gagging when he pops up. :) Otherwise, the show is fantastic! The music is so much better than kid shows today.

oh my goodness, I was in the car with my 12 yr old daughter the other day and the theme song for the bugaloos just popped into my head.. My daughter was like what in the world are you singing. I told her it was from one of my fav programs when I was a child.She thought I was so weird for singing it. Then the next day she said "thanks mom, I got on the bus this morning singing that song and cant get it out of my head." The Bugaloos rock!!!

Just bought the DVD and love the web page.
Does anyone know if Caroline Ellis appeared in Only Fools and Horses as one of a pair of girls Delboy and Rodney picked up in a bar? If so, she was drop-dead gorgeous. Wish she'd been in more TV and movies. Suely it's time she wrote a book about her life story, because interest in the show seems so very high.

The Bugaloos were my favorite show when I was young. I remember when they went off the air. I cried for days and I kept asking my mom what I could do, so we wrote a letter to the TV station. I don't recall any kind of response.
I was thrilled to see this website and showed it to my daughters who are 10 & 12. I was probably 5 or 6 when the show was on. Thanks!

I used to watch the Bugaloos when I was little and just purchased the series for my 4 year old daughter for Christmas. With all the funky shows its no wonder my youth was so misspent :-) My only goal in life at that time was to marry Caroline Ellis(Joy). OMG, OMG!!! I can not believe you have this web site. How cool! I have wondered for many years about this one particular show. Everybody remembers "H.R.Puff And Stuff" "Sigmond" and so on, but people have thought I was off my rocker thinking this show even existed. Even though I was only 4 - 5 years old then, I can still remember the huge crush I had on Joy and how I wanted to be just like I.Q.! I am definitely going to have to track down the DVD box set. Well, like everyone else that has found your page (almost none ever do by accident I'll wager) I absloutely loved this show. Caroline "Joy" Ellis looked (to my 6 year old eyes anyway) the spitting image of my cousin, and I thought my cuz was a star. I did not realize until quite a while into my teens that this was not the case. Anyway, if you ever pass on messages to the group, all my best to them. I would also like to thank them for filling my weekend mornings with some very good music. With so many old shows from the past being turned into cinematic events these days, I would pray that they all get to be in the new production. Not as "the group" of course, buit not having them in a film about a phenomenon they created, would just not be right.

I loved the Bugaloos as a little girl and still love them. I wish TV Land would show it. It's sort of strange but throughout the years, as I grew up, one of their songs would just sort of play in my head without my consciously bringing it up. "Fly Away With Us" was my favorite song. I was shocked and happy when I typed in THE BUGALOOS, and saw that there is a web sight for them, how cool. I totally loved, loved this show when I was a kid. I wanted a pair of wings so bad. I have been racking my brain trying to remember the Bugaloos Show. I asked my sister if she remembered it. I even asked my mom and my husband and neither one could help me. Finally I find it. I am 33 years old and I am so proud to have watched the show growing up. I wish it would come back on television so my son was able to have watched it and we would have had something in comon to talk about. I remember in a way that when THE BUGALOOS first came on I was 10 years old. I would have to say when I seen Caroline Ellis character(JOY) I think I had my first crush or than as the times were PUPPY LOVE. I am 46 years old and thank God to the internet that I can relive those memories once again and to still find out that she is as beautiful as ever. I am so glad Bugaloo is out on DVD in fact I never had any of your songs in my record collection but The Theme song yo Yhe Bugaloos is on a CD under Saturday Morning Cartoon.

I grew on Sid & Marty Kroft shows every Saturday morning when I was a kid. I recently was able to purchse some of the videos of the old shows I loved to watch.
The Bugaloos's has to be my all time favorite program the Kroft's had created!!! I am thrilled to know there are others out there that remember what a great show this was, and the special memories and Joys (no pun) it brought into our lives.

I grew up an airforce brat and we had the pleasure of being able to watch the bugaloos in the phillippines. I absolutely loved the show. never missed it.
I wish they still had this show on the air. we need more wholesome shows like that for the kids of today.

I don't remember much from my childhood but my Saturday mornings have recently come rushing back to me. I bought the DVD set for my kids and my 7 yr old daughter had watched all the episodes multiple times. I remember the songs as if I heard them yesterday. I had the album and of course the lunchbox. What marvelous memories for me and great enjoyment for my kids. I think Courage was probably my first crush!

I saw the show in reruns in the later 70s.I am 36 now.. I always loved the Krofft shows but loved the Bugaloos most. I loved all the songs and music. Especially when they performed on stage. Well its pretty evident on this site that "Joy" was every boys first "crush" ...Yes Its true she was the first actress on TV that I always thought of. I always looked forward to the next episode to see her...So cool to hear of what they areup to today...My little sister liked "IQ" at the same time too...I hope someday they get together at some type of convention here in the States some day. I love The Bugaloos! Ok, honestly, I love watching Joy! Although I was only about 10 years old when it debuted, but I developed a childhood crush on Joy, and that kept me watching every time it came on. I would like to thank those who created this website for all the soundbytes and photos of the cast, and for updating their whereabouts. My kids have never had the opportunity to see the show, and I am hoping, with the advent of DVD, that I can, once again, become that same 10-year-old who first watched the show.

I was just talking to one of my friends a few days ago and expressing my love of The Bugaloos from my childhood. I used to have the album, the books, a Bugaloos lunch box...:)
Talking to my friend brought so many memories of the Saturday morning shows that I used to dearly love.
Of corse I had to "Google" the Bugaloos and I found this site. I'm so glad that so many others out there share those fond memories of I.Q., Joy, Courage, Harmony, Sparky and the rest of the crew. Then some of other favorite shows of those long ago childhood days were mentioned by several others and those programs started playing thru my mind! :)
THANKS SO MUCH for this site. Now to go order some DVD's and to replace that ol' album I so fondly remember.

What an awesome thing to search the web and actually find others who cherished such things as the Bugaloos, HR Pufnstuff, Sigmond and all the others. My sister and I watched every Saturday. We were actually talking it about it at an event last week and were surprised by the number of people who did remember. I have recently ordered quite a few of the DVD sets and look forward to sharing them with younger folks in my family. What a hoot!

Howdy! I remember fondly watching the Bugaloos when I was a kid (born in 1968). The show was repeated a few years later, which is when I saw it. I can STILL sing the theme song and even taught it to my daughter. I've especially enjoyed "surfing" the Bugaloos website. Thanks, Bill, for putting it all together!
