i'm fairly certain that one can still have a burial at sea in norway and iceland. v. eco-friendly. i'd like to be buried at sea though i'm not from the sea. having said that, i totally want to accidentally catch on fire after vital signs have come to a complete stop and then have my ashes turned into a diamond that'll be part of a yearly 'round the world [think carmen san diego meets amazing race] scavenger hunt. that seems like the most befitting option..

ah yes... the when-it-rains-it-pours symptom. truly a sign of a solid dating-prospect.

i did go to deathcab, the show was good. sat on the grass and ate a organic chicken sandwich (it rocked) and smoked a joint and drank a couple glasses of cheap red for $7 a glass. funny thing matson, i had tickets to the lips when they were here and ended up not going because of work. lame, lame, lame.

Thanks Brian. I have now read The Year of Magical Thinking. I like that she tries to get her arms around that state of mind--I do think it's magical if not a little sad. I am embracing it. -c

I hadn't stopped in for a while, and my heart lurched when I read that you lost Todd. I am so sorry. Having lost my love Joe in February, the only advice I can offer is to let yourself be sad. You can't be weeping all the time, but don't insulate yourself from pain with too much entertainment or medication, or it will emerge in bad dreams and panic attacks. I am grateful for every tear that comes out. I've started reading The Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion, who lost her husband and then her daughter. I have to think it's better to die in love than die alone, which to me was the biggest consolation.
