He died in Sydney Australia 1900 and married Catherine Dodd, who predeceased him by a few months. | Comments: | My grandfather was born in Bootle in 1873. His mother remarried a baker called George Massie in 1894. Grandfather ran away from home and joined a ship bound for Australia about 1891. He was away about 18 months but the ship docked in the Royal group in London and he never returned to Liverpool.

| Comments: | By the way - my grandfather lived at 15 Bangor Road, Wallasey Merseyside until he died in the mid to late 1970's. His sister, Minnie, owned an as yet unidentified store, somewhere near or at the shipping yards.
I also just want to say that I have "met" some incredibly wonderful people on my journey. A kind woman at the Liverpool Library has really extended herself to me.
