| Comments: | I have been blessed in reading ghrough your webstie. I was very touched by the Memorial to your precious daughter. And I am loving your writing on your hero, your Dad. It is beautiful. I also read some of your blog, and am holding your dear husband and you in prayer. My sister has fought three seperate cancers and is doing well these past ten years. I encourage you both, as they have many ways in treating cancer these days, where it is not as much as a fatal disease as it once was. Before I close in my sharing comments, I want to say your photography is so uplifting. You are so gifted, and your card making and scrapping is very nice also. You have a very beautiful outlook in life, it is seen through your artistic works. And it touches and stregnthens others. Your writing is the same, thank you, for sharing your gift with all of us. I have chronic illnesses and you are much needed stregnth to me, again thank you. I will come back often, as I have bookmarked your site, and I have also posted the url in a special text file with places I find that brings goodness and hope to my life. Here is to a lovely Sunday, for you and your dear DH, Jim. I hope you one day get back to Michigan as you love it htere so much, my oldest brother and his child hood sweetheart, and wife of over forty decades live there and love it as do you. Kind regards, Nancy aka GracieNan |

| Comments: | My father graduated high school 1939. Married my mom 1940. Served his country from 1943-1946, Navy, Construction Battalion. My mother and father loved dancing to the big bands in Los Angeles, CA. prior to starting a family. I have one sister born in 44 and I was born in 46, 10 months after he returned home. Thank God for his return. I was closer to dad and my sister was closer to my mother. I was a single mom, raising two sons. I had a father that was always there if I needed him. We lost dad Nov 10, 2002. Dad found out he had prostate cancer at age 79 and died one year later. Mom is still with us at age 84. She has Alzheimer's disease and does not mourn dad's death the way the rest of the family does. One of my sons still lives but is confined to a wheelchair and the oldest son died ten days after my youngest son had his swimming accident. My dad helped me through both of these tragedies. My dad was the kindest man I ever knew and most people would say the same about him. While taking care of my father in his last two months of life I found out I had colon cancer and needed surgery immediately. My father never knew what my problem was. When I left his side, I told him I would be back that I needed to go have a procedure done at the hospital. I was in hosp for a week. He died four days after my surgery. I was not there when he passed but I was able to attend his funeral. It was the most beautiful funeral I had ever been to. A friend that he loved dearly officiated. My dad would have been proud. Maybe he was watching, I hope so. PS I watched L&H with my dad too. |

| Comments: | I came across your site while following up on traffic to my "pasties" site, and wanted to tell you how moved I was by your tribute to your father. I grew up in the UP of Michigan; and my own father, a World War II veteran who died many years ago after being injured in a fire, had much in common with your father. Anyhow, you did a nice job with this memorial. Your father was fortunate to have had you, as were you to have had him. |

| Comments: | What a great tribute to your father, you must be proud of him as he is of you i am sure. I lost my dad October 31, 2001. He also had cancer, dad was a big pipe smoker. But he lived to be 74 and I think thats good. So many loose their life to early. Like my brother, he died tragically 6 months after my dad. Needless to say I am a wondering mess. Keep your father in your heart everyday as I do. I am sure he loved you so much and misses you too. |

| Comments: | I didn't sign your guest book when I first visited this tribute?? Sorry, Lu. I often live vicariously through you especially when you are talking about your wonderful family and a childhood rich in the things that matter most. There is a book in you, Lucy. You have a story well worth telling to as many people as possible! Your father sounds like exactly like the kind of dad you deserved to have had. And I absolutely love what Rick had to say in his letter. Must remember that line about the 'tough meat'. :-) |

| Comments: | Hi Lu, I lost my Dad in July of 1999. It seems like yesterday, it seems like forever, sometimes I even forget that he's gone and want to rush to him with good news. He left us slowly, with gradual Alzheimers, but still had such a spark of humour and love to the very end. |
