I wanted to thank the active chapter and all the
alumni members that attended this year's event. I
estimated about 220 people. My wife, Denise, and I
had a great time seeing brothers I had not seen in
a while. Also, it was a great honor to see Mr.
McClure in all his glory with his award from the

Basletball Hoop-a-thon fundraiser, March 22, '02 |
Hi Sig Ep brothers,
We are asking for your help to participate in a baskerball Hoop-a-thon on March 22, at Sacramento City College, from 6 to 9 p.m. This is a fundraiser to benefit Huntington's Disease. Each group of four brothers would form a team and stand at the foul line for 10 minutes, trying to shoot as many baskets as they can.
Sponsors signed up in advance, can make a flat donation or pledge a specific amount of money for every basket that the sponsored shooter sinks.
We are asking Sig Eps to participate in this wonderful cause to help find a cure for Huntington's Disease. We are fortunate to have Peja Stojakovich of the Kings being a part of this event. Team participants can have their picture taken with Peja and receive an autographed poster. The three top team fund raisers will receive, #1 team: VIP box tickets to a Kings game, #2 team: autographed jerseys by Peja, #3 autographed basketballs.
A Fat Boy Harley Davidson will be raffled off.
Let us know how many brothers would partipate. We can send more info and brochures and info about the disease. We hope you'll join us for an evening of fun, meet Peja, and help us raise money for research.

Great to see a message board by the local chapter
of Sig Ep. I pledged Sig Ep in 1965 and graduated
from Sac. State in June of 1967. I served in the
U.S. Army as a commissioned officer and saw
infantry combat with the 1st Air Cavalry in Viet
Nam 1969-1970. Then I was in the Persian Gulf War
from Aug. 1990 to June of 1991. Probably the only 2
war combat vet in this group. Welcome home to all
of you veterans.

Latest update in the mad life of Ian.....
Son Aaron Nathaniel Marks was born Sept 19 2001.
Very cool. My wife is about done wiht her
residency at the Univ of Virgnia in Internal
Medicine and I have joined the Emergency Med group
from the Univ of Maryland as my next stop.... kind
of cool to return to one of both my wife and my
alma maters. All I have to do now is have both of
us get appointed to the faculty of the UC Davis
Medical School and we would have come full circle.
Maybe in a few years?
If you are near Wash, DC -Charlottesville, VA or
Baltimore, MD any time soon drop me a note! I am
always good for a beer and potentially a trip to
fly fish a local river by canoe.

I would have never thought that the 5 family would

Hey Alumni,
I challange all alumni to match my one time each
semester donation of $100.00 I believe that the
fraternity had given me priceless memories. For
that i will give back to them, now that i have a
good job, Alumni think of it this way...if we can
get atleast 20 donations that will bring $2000 to
their budget to have the best scholarship program
to the campus, maybe have money for a limo for the
ladies on Ladies night ( WE'D BE THE TALK OF THE
SCHOOL THAT NEXT MONDAY)or have more chapter
dinners...what ever they do with it...its my belief
we need to help make them the best even after
graduation!! SO I CHALLENGE YOU....open the wallets
