| Comments: | Found your website and wanted to know if Neill McLennan, born in Iverhesshir, Scotland on Sept. 25, 1787 and died on Fe. 26, 1868 is the same as the Neil McLennon from the Isle of Skye. I have a photgraph that was from a newspaper article that had a large group of people in front of a house that was built in 1846. Some of the people include my relative, Frank Herring, Duncan McLennan, D. McFadden, Emma McFadden..... It says that Neil McLennan came to Texas in 1836. Located on South Bosque 1844....

On the census in 1900 I found his family listed and there are several children I have never heard mentioned (his brothers and sisters). I am very interested in the oldest, Chlory A. Powell, who is 14 at the time of the census. The census is the only time I have ever found her listed. Would appreciate any help anyone might have.

I think I can safely claim to have a "Solid" Southern Alabama heritage! :-) My family has lived in northwest Florida and south central Alabama since the late 1700 - at least! I have recently learned that one of my ancestors was a Nancy Elizabeth (or Elizabeth Nancy) Knight. She was born in Eufaula Creek Nation around 1720. In one mention of her name there is a parenthesis with two words in what I presume is the Creek language. I would really like to find our if this ia a title, a name, or even a descriptive phrase. The words are "nagoda Mondiac" (I hope I spelled them correctly. I would also like to find out anything I can about her. I *think* her father's name was Jackson Knight but I'm not sure and I have no record of her mother's name. Can anyone help me? Thank you, Sally Lewis Bishop |

They are buried in 7 Springs CCemetery on Alabama Hwy 204 between US 431 and the old area known as "Angel Station" between there and the Jax Stae Campus in Calhoun County, I now cause we still put flowers on her grav and my other kinfolks "owens" buried at Crooks down the road at Ohatchee. I am looking for my McMurry family. I found David McMurry born 1816 in Kyser Hill, AL, Etowah county and married to Elizabeth (Lizzie) Nichols (born 1/13/1820) in 1849. Their son, Pinckney Euphratus (P.E.)was born in Washington CTY FL in 8/30/1850. The family moved to Clark County AL when he was 4 years old according to an article about P.E. written in 1940. P.E. later married Laura Ann Trice on 4/1/1873 in Butler Cty AL. And died in Bradley county Arkansas in Feb 1941. Lizzie married J. Taylor and moved to Arkansas with P.E. and his family. She had another son John Taylor (per the article). we are trying to find more info on Lizzie's family (Nichols) and also what happened to David McMurry. Any help will be appreciated. |

All the things i have read, we are american indian and then we are not; well, my father told us we were. his father was ocsar hathcock, his father silas james-his father jim silas- his father john hathcock the mothers milly-posey-leacy-dolly not dellia .Were they not married? what makes some able to claim they'er indian and some not? I really wish that someone out there could put some light to why the hathcock name can not or is not on the indian rolls. my great aunt is on the roll but not the family name. Looking at this from an outsiders view it doesn't make sence, they lived in the area that is known as poarch. when my mother had my older sister she hold us that her name was put in a book there? my father played there as a boy. Question? does anyone know what happen to silas sr? were he went or what happen please let us know "K". we just want to know the history of our family good-bad, anything will help put the puzzle together.i don't know any of the hathcocks in the south; only my fathers brothers, as a child. we moved to calif. my name was changed before i was born. my father told us they changed the name but i have no idea why. They migrated from SCarolina to Henry County, Al. during the 1820-1830 period. Its not known if their father and mother migrated with them. Olivers wife Darcus Miller was also born in SCarolina. While living in Henry County, Oliver and Darcus had 8 children born there. My G-GFather Isham(ISOM) was born there. They appear in the 1840 and 1850 census of Henry County. Oliver owned 5 parcels of land in Henry County. During 1850-1860 period they further migrated to the area of CERROGORDO in the Florida panhandle, which is now in Holmes County, and located North of Westville, Fl. |

I am trying to locate a Baker family of Madison Co., AL. Pete(r) Baker was a Church of Christ preacher, md several times, 1st to Cynthia Allen who d ca 1884 (one child, Mattie b 1880). I believe he was listed in the 1910 Madison Co., AL cs with wife Dony and a son or stepson. When dau Mattie died in the early 50's her obit stated that she had a half sister, Eddy Lee Collins of Arkansas. I did find Albert and Eddy in Madison Co., AL and later in Lincoln Co., TN. One mge list has Albert Collins and Ada Lee Baker listed. I would love to get in touch with a member of this family and exchange info. |

Luke R. was born in 1829 in Georgia and died about 1910. Julia Ann Pounds was born in 1829 and died after 1871 in Alabama. We found what we think is her grave site at Harmony Grove Baptist Church in Clebourne County, Ala. Luke R. married again after her death to Elizabeth G. Smith. Feb. 8, 1877 in Clebourne County, Ala.
