| Comments: | Hey its great to be here again visiting my sister from Kamloops B.C.born in to. moved to sud in 53 then to chelmsford then to Blezard when i was a kid lived on the corner claudette i think haven't been back there in years my friends lived onn Langdon anyway we lived on the hill in apink housse now it looks white by the star drivin back in 63we had to walk down to the house oon the right to get water moved back to schelmsford for a while where I had a crush on a fellow who had a green and white 57dodge and then in 64 he was driving a copper colored oldsmobile i think his name was Cleo Roy He talked to me one time and I was smitten if anybody remembers someone like that iwouldn;t mind an update hemust be close to 70 now then we moved to To.again and i eventually moved to B.C. in 77 then i did,t come back for along time but my close sister married her childhood sweetheart when she was fifteen and my brothe in law whom was the best guy in the world died in 2000 he was still very youngin his 50's they bought their house in Hanmer behind the mall and this is my home well I came to spend holidays with my sister last year first time since 78and had a great time and my sister misses me so since my bro passed i came back to spend more time I'll be here for awhile longer so if anyone would like to take me for touring around ill be here I've housebound mysister works at Kfc you probaly know her and I sell Avon here too |

| Comments: | This is a great website! We were just in Capreol yesterday, and realized that we missed the reunion! I haven't been there since the last reunion I attended 24 years ago. (yikes!...I'm showing my age) I loved growing up in Capreol...I left in 1973 when I was 14 to move to Barrie...and I have lived here ever since. I consider Barrie my home, but Capreol is my hometown and I'll never forget the great years I had there. I wish I could have kept in touch with more of the people that I grew up and shaped my life, but you don't often realize what you miss until you are older.

| Comments: | As much as I said I hated Capreol when I was growing up, looking back now I wouldn't trade a second of it for anything and am SO grateful that I got to grow up in such a tight-knit town with such great people who truly make up the spirit of our little home. My mom tried to move away but it kept calling her back and she's there now living happier than ever, and I know I won't be able to fight the urge for too long and will also find myself living in the relaxation and comfort of my home town sometime in the near future. I took all the greatness of Capreol for granted during my teenage years, but I guess that's why I appreciate it so much now and soak as much of it up as I can when I get the chance to visit. I hope that someday the economy will pick up again and the town will thrive on its greatness. Cheers to Capreol! |

I live in Collingwood now but when I left Capreol I moved to Thornbry for 29 year and here for 20 so have been away along time. Last trip home had my 11yr.old granddaughter with me and she loved the Prescott Park and got to go in the Engine and Cabbosse. He served on the front lines with Bavo company 4th Bragade. Our family cannot say enough how very PROUD we are. Thank god he made it threw.as he has lost so very good friends,and some hurt.We are hurt to say the least that some how this soldier has some how not been able to have any reconition on the SUPPORT THE TROOPS that the capreol legion has. and it is not for the lack of us trying. | Comments: | I'll really miss getting my hair done at the shop when I visit Capreol. The atmosphere, the laughs, being made to feel special... When you left the hairdressing shop, you not only looked good, you felt good. Not everyone is gifted with this talent. Leona took so much pride in her work and she loved her customers. We all know she wasn't planning on retiring for another 3 years. She would never walk out on her customers this way as they meant too much to her. They were like an 'extended family' to her. What a loss for Capreol!
We all have memories from over the years. How about we share some of them. Here's one of my laughs that goes back over 40 years....yes, she was hairdressing at that time! ...Leona was hairdressing in Southern Ontario where we both lived. I was at the shop getting my hair done when a customer walked in laughing. She saw a little girl about 5 years old sitting on the doorstep of the shop, smoking a cigarette. That little girl was my daughter, Leona's niece. Love you Leona....your big sis. |

| Comments: | to Disgruntled Daughter, I can really sympathise with you. Your mom has been my loyal hairdresser for years before I moved away and I am really ashamed to see how she was treated. She is and always will be the best hairdresser capreol ever had. I hope she is open to doing house runs because I still want her services when I go back for visits. She was not only a great hairdresser but also a wonderful therapist when I needed to talk. Too bad for the people who ran her out .... they lost the best. |

Ella Lake, the Beach at the river, the picnics/hikes to the nearby small lakes, dances Fri/Sat night upstairs at the Arena, Skating Sat/Sun afternoons, CGIT-Square Dancing & Choir @ Trinity United, Majorettes - Capreol Legion Drum & Bugle Corp (which I was thrilled to learn is still going strong and doing so well), Del Papas after school for a 'Pepsi', the Theatre downtown where I saw so many of what are now called 'classic movies'. When I think of Capreol, it is always with pride of the great Community Spirit and how very lucky we all were to have grown up there. I have not been back since 1970 but love the idea of returning for a combined Reunion with Capreol Days. If anyone recognizes my name, please drop me a line, I'd love to hear from you. |

I grew up in Capreol in the 50-60s and when I went on line and seen so many articles and persons' names, it brought back many good memories and many a past friend. From cub scouts through to rovers, from the canadian legion marching band to working at moose mountain mine,to the floods on river street to the curling at the Capreol Curling rink, to shopping at Nepitts and Mazzucas,and of course to attending Capreol Public and Capreol High Schools. What a fantastic group of memories for such a small period of time in my life. |

Great idea and thanks for bringing this topic up. I too have been talking to people about organizing a reunion, however, I was thinking summer 2007 and including a few years more - maybe up to 1986. If you are interested in stretching the timeline than I will definitely work on this with all of you. I know my family would be willing to get involved. |

| Comments: | There is a Capreol Days meeting next Monday, April 10th. Let's wait and see how many volunteers we get. If all we get is the normal amount, we are stretched thin enough to get the normal events out. So I am not sure we would be able to get a reunion done also. If you want, try and get someone from here to come to the meeting. Even if you could plan most of it from your home.

As a suggestion would it not make more sense to have the Capreol High School Reunion, the same weekend as Capreol Days, which is always the long weekend in August. Many former residents plan there vacations around the Capreol Days Weekend.By doing this would be an added feature for Capreol Days, and one more reason for Former Capreolites to come home...
