| Let me start this off...
..it might sound a little paranoid, but when someone with a distinctly questionable name comes in (see the bug portion of the Etc page on my site), I have to wonder whether they're really going to play a sincere game, or throw a stupid sexually explicit acronym down. One of three things usually happens: 1) They wait a round to check the tone of the room and play accordingly, 2) They bound right on in with a abovesaid acro which half of us will report and nobody will vote, or 3) They'll realise they're not in the right room and zip right off. |

| This has to be the epitome of all a/s/l horror stories. I actually saw someone whose username was 12/F. Seriously. She then proceeded to ask The Question, got a few smart remarks about her nosiness, and then she said the most scathing thing she could. Here I quote, letter for letter: "God ur all gay bye".
::sigh:: Trying to have a decent Acroing experience and encountering that sort of thing really gets under my claws. Know what I'm sayin'? :) |

| Well, this just happened a while before I'm writing this and the Captain was a witness:
A young person came in to an acro room and started the usual a/s/l, and those of us in the room let her know right away that we were there to play and that this wasn't a chatroom. This character then proceeded to tell us that she wasn't there to play, just to chat. We again told her that if she isn't playing, she should leave. This was taken in by her adolescent mind as "meanness". "Why are you being so mean to me?" she kept asking. Talk about clueless! Finally, after a few of us set her on ignore, she took the hint and left. Oy! When will they ever learn? |

| I was in a perfectly good room once when a friendly
teenager came in looking for someone her own age to play with and she of course asked the ageless questions, sex/age/location, etc. Well, there were three people in particular who take it upon themselves to be very rude and tell them they can't ask questions like that. When reading the acro rules I never saw a rule against this. Unfortunately, the poor teen was then left wandering around acro looking for a room her own age, when it could have been better to tell her about the teen rooms. I have been a room, when three people in particular came in and of course these three have never liked me because I tell them to bugger off when they get annoyed at my acros, and they proceed to childishly private message everyone else and tell them to leave and meet them somewhere hoping to leave me alone. What these three people don't realize is that my friends always private message me about what is happening and don't leave to go to other rooms. People are people and they will cheat, chat (especially since this game has a chat box), and if young write fart acros. Personally, my policy is live and let live. I do agree with nasty people in clean rooms being asked to leave though. Unfortunately, this will happen on the internet since it is available to anyone and everyone. Everyone needs to lighten up and play the game, chat and acro about whatever they want as long as it is appropriate for the room. No one here is better than anyone else and we need to get along. This is my horror story and hopefully some good will come of it, like Boorish remarks not made, and acros picked apart because they are not up to certain peoples' standard. Let's just get on with the game and hopefully the Acro snobs will grow up and stop picking on people. By the way I came across this page accidently and am so disappointed to know that people think they know everything. God what a horrible way to live, picking apart other people. If for some reason you discover who this is, try and suck it up like I did this page and leave people who are just trying to have a little fun alone. Anonymous. |
