I just tried to sending the below letter to a couple of the email addresses that I have for you, but both were kicked back. So.....I don't know if you are still keeping this sight up, but will try sending you the letter here. Here's the letter: You and I corresponded a few years back in regards to my Great Grandfather, Albert E. Elliott, who according to all records that I've come across so far, was born (abt. 1871) around and lived in Hancock Co., KY, but hasn't been definitively tied to any of the local Elliott's of the time. You had indicated that Albert does not show up in any of your records, but that some of the Elliott siblings you were researching some of your records might not be complete. I spent all last week in Hancock and Daviess Counties. I did a lot of photography of several of the cemeteries in the area collecting photos of family member head stones. Additionally, I spent some time in the Hancock Co. courthouse and at the Administration Building across the street. I went through the older Deed records and found Albert all over them. He was mainly known as either Allie or A. E. Very rarely do you see him referred to as Albert. Anyway, I found him in a few transactions between Eldred J. Elliott and also found a transaction where William T. Elliott sold land to Eldred and Albert all within the same negotiation. Their wives are mentioned several times along with a few other Elliott's. I'm convinced that Albert is related in some way to these guys, but still was not able to find the "hard" evidence that says William is Albert's dad or Eldred is Albert's brother, etc. Some of the area Arnold's are mentioned in the deed as well. Albert's wife was an Arnold. I thought you might be interested in this info and might wish to ponder it some. I'm working on scanning all the deeds that I copied. I'm not sure which line you are from, but William Joshua Elliott married Susan Emma/Emily Adams (daughter of Eli C Adams and Louise Baker)on October 28, 1884 in KY. Also, William Joshua died on November 4, 1950 in Denver, Colorado. |

message:Hi: I found your web site tonight through a search on Goggle.com and it led me to your Descendants of John P. Phillips page. I was so thrilled!! I finally found the Phillips connection to my 3rd Great Grandmother, Bashaba V. Phillips(a.k.a.-Bersheba, Bathsheba, etc.) I could not find her parents anywhere! And when I did a search on the LDS site, her name came up with different birth dates, etc. Looking at your tree, it appears that she was named after other Bashaba's. I have more information regarding her if you would like it. I also noticed that the Phillips married into the Crow Family. Thomas Rusher's sister married a Crow as well. I don't have the info in front of me, but I can dig up. The family story is Thomas and his other sisters and brothers were "bonded" out by the court. Their mother could not pay her bill after her husbands' death. Thomas's sister worked in the home of a family named Phillips. I've been wondering if that is how he met Bashaba! was John Wesley Douthitt. He married Susie May Jones. They had four children that I know of. The oldest being William, Mattie,James and my father,Vernon Douthitt. Every time I try to find something out about the family,I end up short. I was born in Covington KY.,May 23rd 1951. I also understand that a lot of records were lost in Lexington back in the 60's or 70's due to a fire. his descendant, Earl Douthitt when I was a small child growing up near Scythia. I saw several names in the book that are my ancestors. I am the daughter of Orvil Muffett.
