| Comments: | Hello!
I think this is an awsomme site. I wonder though if you might be able to help me. My line goes like this: Myself, Robert Lanier, Luther L. Lanier, Edmund Lanier, Seth Lanier and so on up through Clement the son of Nicholas the Elder Lanier. Now I was adopted out of my family and have recently been reunited with my bio mother, but I am looking for Robert Lanier my father. He was born in 1938 which would put him at 70 years old this year. Is there any chance that you would know who he is? Any information would be helpful. I just want to be able to see him at least once before he passes away. Sniceerely John C. Lanier |

| Comments: | My great grandmother was a Lanier. There has always been a lot of interest in this line. Eliza Lanier and Stephen Green Pearce. We have had the Ingersoll book in the family and it is very interesting. This book can also be found at most libraries and the DAR library in D.C. Sampson Lanier and Elizabeth Washington are in my line as well as the Chamberlain's. There are many musically gifted people in our family as well as gifted speakers. Is this a family gift past down from? There is also a great love for God and loyalty to His Word. How old is the oldest descendent at this time? My mother is one of 8 beautiful women and one son. This is a very loving and sweet family. |

| Comments: | Hello Lanier Families:
I was so excited today when I found this website and guestbook. I am the daughter of John Grady Lanier from Eustis, Florida (central FL) and my grandfather moved here from Metter, Georgia in the early 1900's but no later than 1945. My grandfather's name was Edward James Lanier. His father was from Georgia and was Ralph Lanier. I know little more about my family's past but seek many answers. Thanks to all of you who are sharing your knowledge with the rest of us. Please contact me at llmg8r@aol.com if you have more information or just want to chat. Luwana Lanier Milner Eustis, Florida |

I know of an uncle Billy Lanier and Aunt Bobbie Lanier, but that is about as much of my family heritage that I know. We are from Texarkana Tx, however myself and my 2 sisters Amy and April now live in Illinois. If there is any family out there of ours that would like to contact me feel free to do so. |

| Comments: | Hi Wayne:
Just browsing and found your site. I have a first cousin, Wesley Ellenwood - parents were Albert Ellenwood & Flossie Brown Ellenwood. I noticed that you mention a "Florence" as a spouse for Albert. ( I never knew this side of my famly - my paternal side the "Brown" Family from Tattnal County, & Candler County, Georgia) I never knew that her real name was Florence. Anyway, I am trying to locate any immediate family of Wesley Ellenwood - I have an old photo of him when he was quite young. Although, Wes Ellenwood would have been my first cousin - I believe that there is a great age difference. The photo that I have is dated 1943 - and I was not born until 24 years later. Perhaps, you or someone reading this e-mail can shed some light and e-mail me. Kindest Regards, Liz Brown Burks mandlburks@corrcomm.net |

| Comments: | I am so glad to ave found your site it is wonderful. My line goes back thru Absolom Benjamin Lanier. It appears your site stops here i have the continuation of most of this line to an extent to present date. Maybe i should be more specific from Absolom going back> Thomas Martin L.> Hillery Lanier(which in my records is John Hillery L.)>Benjamin Lanier> Lemual and so on. if you'd like from Absolem to present please feel free to email me as i am just learning to follow up on this task of searching out my family. I would like to reaserch the Huguenot society aspect of our family but have had no success it seems very secretive part of our ancestry for some reason. If you have any insite on this please share. ty very much for your hard work so far I do appreciate what you've done Brad E. Clouse |

| Comments: | Mr. Wayne Lanier,
I am 58 years old and may have died and never have known the tapesty of my past, if not for you. Thank you, can not begin to express my most humble appreciation. My great-grandfather was Franis "Guy" Lanier. My grandmother had the suit he wore the day he was ambushed at Spillers Creek, until the her death. I was about nine when I was shown the black suit coat with the holes in it. I was told the dispute was over a property boundary. My 78 year old brother says it was over cotton that had been stolen from him. Beyond my great-grandfather I knew nothing of this wonder- full rich story which you have given to me and my family. Thank you so very much. Larry White |

| Comments: | What a great site! I will visit again when I have more time.
I was drawn to it when I saw the name Louise Ingersoll. I have her book and I visited she and her husband in about 1968 when they were living in the Kennedy Arms Apartments in Washington, D.C. They were well into their eighties at that time. I have a question about the coat of arms. Where is the "Lion of Gascony?" I have never been able to pick it out and have been puzzled for years wondering if perhaps this was not the correct coat-of-arms. |

| Comments: | I found your site doing a Google search on my name. I am the son of Sterling Edmund Lanier and the last with my particular name (for the moment anyway... our first child,Erin Sidney, 3 months old, is a girl...).
My uncle also had the name, but his mother would not use it and called him "Pete" because her first son had the name and died in infancy. Uncle Pete did not want to offend her and so did not name either of his two sons Berwick Bruce. My father then thought he could get away with it... my grandmother Priscilla was very old when I was born and died when I was still young. I have the Louise Ingersoll book and just found the link to Quintin Publications on your site. So now I'll finally have the CD-ROM version I had always thought I'd have to make! Stop by our web site to see one of the latest Laniers: Erin Sidney (middle name for the poet... we live in Atlanta so the Georgia history and the big lake certainly influenced us...) was born on October 3rd, 2002 and is the first Berwick Bruce Lanier's great great great grand daughter (I think) |
