Beautiful Babies!

Trinity [e] [h]

Spent a week at the in-laws over on the Jersey side. Took my pooches around the corner for some TLC.

Well, big mistake. These places were unsanitary and even smelled horrible from the sidewalk. The signs read awfully translated slogans like Extinguished Pets and Doggy Style Grooming. Horrible experience.

Carolyn, I love your site. It's so refreshing to know of someone who cares about animals so much and such.

Keep me in your prayers.

Keep up the good work!!

Hi Carolyn. It was really nice meeting you today and hanging out with all the pretty poodles. I really appreciate the time and wisdom that you shared with me.

I can't get that pretty "blue" standard out of my head! The one with the white marking on it's chest. Does it have a pedigree that I can look at online? She had a very pretty face.

You are the Breeder with the most beautiful Miniture Poodles, with adorable faces and intelligent eyes that speak volumes of how aware they are of the world they live in.
You have created the highest level of breeding success that I have ever seen.
Do they all have in their personalities a similar nature that they are known
for.?
Have there been any problems with inbreeding.
My Miniture Poodle's Grandmother won " Best Of Breed" "Best of Class"
and came in second for "best of Show" three years in a row at the Westminister Dog Show at Madison Square Garden in NYC.
Unfortunately, my dog was the first of her offspring to develop problems.
At ten month's he had to under go surgery on his right leg because the joint hadn't formed correctly. We had noticed that he refused to climb steps, but until the joint became very painful, we were not aware of the problem. The breeder gave us back our money and paid for half of the operation. He wouldn't use his right leg for six months. Finally we saw him running in the garden an we knew that he would be okay.
Then we decided to Xray his other leg, and the film showed that he barely had a joint. But since in this leg there was never any pain, I believe he developed the muscles in his leg, and used them to avoid using his joint.
He is ten years old now, and it is hard to tell that beneath his stride, the muscles in his legs operate differently than most other dogs.
We have been very lucky that he recovered so well.
I guess that I looked at your site because I just lost my other dog two weeks ago. Her name was Bailey, and she was a white Havanese female. She was my best friend, always watching me and never leaving my side for fifteen years.
I have been married for 36 years and have two grown children. I guess that I shouldn't say the we were so close.
She picked a parasite somewhere and the treatment was difficult for her.because of her age. She was still so agile and adorable that everyone thought that she was a young dog.
When her eyes and hearing began to wane, her sense of taste and smell grew ten times stronger.
This made her stop taking her medication for extremely high liver enzymes. In fact, when she was five, the doctors thought she had Cushings, and told us that she probably wouldn't live more than two years, We were lucky to find Sam-e.
If we fed Bailey filet mingion, the most that she would eat it for was two nights. Then she wouldn't eat for two nights.
The only food that she wanted was ' Humming Bird's Tonges' and you had to prepare them the way she insisted on. She was a very picky and selective eater. Even when she liked the food, she would walk around her bowl picking out one piece at avtime to eat. She eventually finished her food about a half hour later than Bo, my Poodle.
The reason that I am telling you this story is because of how much she taught me about life in her final moments.
Bailey had very loose stools for four months. I felt that I knew her immune system well enough to cure her.
I finally found the correct food and supplements after an incredibly exhaustive search.
Her stool had become normal seventy five percent of the time.
But then she stopped eating again.
This had happened a month earlier, but I saved her by feeding her through a tube until she started eating again.
I finally realized that this was the end.
I felt terrible, when I read an article about Patrick Henry. He said, "Give me liberty or give me death."
I finally realized how brave And smart Bailey was because she was saying the same courageous words. " Give me the food I enjoy, or give me death."
She didn't want to live on the same food over and over again just to be healthy. I felt terrible for not recognizing this -- I knew her so well. She hadn't wagged her tail in a month and gave me only one kiss. I used to get at least a hundred a day.
I kew it was time to put her to sleep.
After it was over, my wife and I were walking through the Doctors parking lot, when suddenly we saw the most beautiful rainbow either of us had ever seen. It wasn't even raining outside. My wife said to me, "there goes Bailey, over the rainbow."
It was an incredible moment that made me feel better and we will never forget that day. Only Bailey could have said goodbye to us that
way. We loved her so much.
Thank you for your time. I hope to get another. Miniture Poodle, as soon as I have enough money.
Now I know wher to find the special dog I'll be looking for.
Respectfully,
Jeffrey Cohan

My friend Kelly Johnson has bought 2 of your Standards and gave me your phone numbers. My 2 Lhasas are gone now, lived 15 years and I'm looking for a Miniature Poodle....researched it and think their characteristics are what I'd like. I've had show collies, brittany spaniels, chesepeake bay retrievers, 1 toy poodle (40 yrs ago) a dalmatian/shepherd mix (wonderful dog) but think a black Mini Poodle would be great now.

Carolyn, Thank you so much for giving us the gift of one of Rangers pups. Martini is our sunshine everyday. Our house is a home because of her. We can't get enough of that adorable little face and her sweet hugs and kisses. She is our little princess! Words cannot express how much we love her and how grateful we are to you for our special gift of Mrtini. Thank you!

My black mini named Samson will be two years old 2/28. I knew I wanted a poodle, but had NO idea how wonderful they can be. He is so intelligent, loving, playful, interested in everything, and my best friend! We have done all the obedience courses and are now working in the agility ring. He is about to become a therapy dog since he loves everyone and everyone loves him. Anyone who sees him talks about what a "beautiful boy" he is. He really is a looker. I am coming to visit and let you be re-acquainted with Sammy. I have given your name to so many people -- everyone who sees and gets to know him and wants one just like Sammy!

I have read a great deal about you on your web site and the Watchung Mountain Poodle Club Site. I noticed today that you have a black female standard available for adoption. I am very interested in speaking with you.

My female standard, Cole, passed away in Nvember, 2010 after providing my husband and I with 13.5 years of pure joy.

It seems to be time to experience that joy again. Please contact me at 484-467-8899

Hi Carolyn:

I was looking at poodles and came across your site. You remember me, I bought a male miniature from you and fostered Mitzi but she didn't work out in our home.
We still have our standard female we bought 5 years ago fro a breeder in Arkansas and I am hoping to buy a male royal in the near future. It is our plan to move north and retire soon. Time will tell.

My mother Marge Scalza passed away a year ago March and my sister Jodi now has the apricot toy my mother had bought from you, Chester. Madison (my silver standard)and I will need to stop by your place one of these days and say hello.

Kindest Regards and warmest wishes for a happy and healthy new year

The Jack of Hearts, our Standard just turned 11 this past "first day of Summer", June 21st.
He is the most well tempered sole and was raised with our twin children as he is exactly one month older than them.
Jack is our second Standard from Ca-Bryn, as we were blessed with Miles before him. With Jack getting older we are contemplating a 3rd Ca-Bryn Standard to be with Jack as he gets older.

Hi Carolyn,
Loved reading about your love affair with poodles. I agree once you are owned by a poodle, you will never let any other dog possess you. Poodles are the best. Your site is very informative. We are looking for a silver female mini to join our family in the July 2010 timeframe. Your 5/4 litter is the perfect match. Let me know what is next. Linda

Hi Carolyn,

When I came home with Cabryn Fantasia 8 years ago, I had no idea that you were known internationally and how accomplished you are. I do know that Fantasia (we call her Dani) has the most fabulous disposition. She is so sweet, lets me hold her in my arms, on her back, for hours, always greets everyone with a toy in her mouth while she prances, and has been a source of unbelievable joy. The day I got Dani, all the poodles you had behind your dutch door has the most wonderful personalities...your dogs have the best temperments. Thank you for Fantasia...a continuing source of unconditional joy and ultimate pleasure.

HI,

Soooo.. glad you are still around. I called the number I have for "Distinguished dogs today. No one answered it, guess they are no longer yours. Needless to say, you have been on our mind,

We had to put Aley down in 2006. He was not quite 13. It broke my heart and I swore never again.

He was so good. Incredibly smart and dedicated to us. We didn't have to train him to help me when I was disabled by a car accident. If it had not been for him, I am not sure we would have realized what was wrong. His instincts to take care of me led us to the crux of the injury which disabled me for 10 years and almost put me in a nursing home, way before my time.

I loved him so, but I could not stand to see him suffer any more. He was having mini strokes. He would wake up in the middle of the night and fall over. Sometimes he would lose control of his bowels. He would try to run to the bathroom to go, but couldn't make it. He rarely cried but sometimes I would here him at night. groaning or whimpering.

Jerry took him to the vet to put him dow. Aley knew something was up, he would not kiss me when he left. The thought of having another dog has been impossible. Aley I know is irreplaceable.

However, if we are going to get a dog, it will have to be a poodle and I would not even think of getting one from anyone but you.

I am now surrounded by small dogs of various breeds including miniature poodles and I am not sure how much longer I can hold out without a dog.

Aley brought us such joy.

We just bought a condo which has a 35 lb restriction on dogs and they are strict about it.

We want a standard, but unless it is full grown and slightly under 35 lbs it ain't going to happen.

I left you a message on your voice mail. Call me and let me know if you have any small grown standards and/or miniatures that grow to 30 to 32 pounds without being overweight..

Hopefully one of these will be available at your kennel at some point in the future. The community only allows one dog per home.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Pete & Jerry

Dear Carolyn,
As you know, our apricot toy poodle, Callie, is a registered therapy dog with the Delta Society.
(DeltaSociety.org)
For over 2 years Callie and I, as Pet Partner volunteers, visit a nursing home once an week bringing joy and smiles to so many of the residents and staff.
We are also participate in the R.E.A.D. program (Reading Education Assistance Dogs) at the NYC Public Libraries where the children come to read to Callie and other therapy dogs. (TherapyAnimals.org)
Callie and I were recently re-evaluated with the Delta Society and we passed our test and were promoted from a "predictable" environment to "complex" environments! Because of Callie's sweet calm nature and fine behavior skills she is an amazing example of dog that has a job of good will!
