I told one of the staff that we were disappointed that we didn't get to see the stamp mill in operation...he said, "hey, I'll crank it up for you!" and he did!

| Comments: | I came this past week, May 10, with my third grade class from Russom Elementary School. Many thanks to your volunteer guides who told us so many cool things about the mine and the area. My father used to blast in a nearby rock quarry about 40 years ago, and he told us about the Villa Rica gold strike long ago. I am so interested in coming back (without my class) that I will do it soon. We had a great field trip, but it will be nice to come back and be able to give my full attention to your museum and grounds without having to supervise 22 kids.

The staff is always there with a smile, quick wit and great story! The surviving landmarks are alive with the ghosts of the past... what more could a History major look for? The live animals exhibit is a treat AND a lesson in one for kids! After pondering for many a day, I have decided to write my thesis on the Stockmar land.
