Comments:Hi, I have just received a very generous donation of £100 from 260 Sig Sqn (SAM) Royal Signals Association towards my paticipation in the Help For Heroes Big Battlefield Bicycle Ride 26 May-1 Jun 2008. The charity has been established to raise funds for facilties to assist in the rehabilitation of the hundreds of Servicemen seriously injured in Iraq and Afghanistan (such as a rehab swimming pool). I will be cycling more than 260 miles over 6 days (up to 75 miles a day) across the battlefields of Northern France with 300 other volunteer riders, culminating in a mass ride of cyclists through Whitehall. I would just like to convey my sincerest thanks to all members of the Association for their support - I really appreciate it. I My Father in Law, Peter Lenthall, has been great in helping me raise the £2K minimum sponsorship - thanks, Peter!

Comments:Hi all, My father Staff Sergeant Richard (Dave) David Burrows, was I believe a member or 654 Signals at some stage during his career in the army. I've found your website this evenong and ZI wonder if anyone can remember him. My mum's name is Olive. Dad served with the signals for 22 years finishing up in December 1969. He served with 654 I think it was in either Duisburg 1n 66, or Dortmund, 67 to 68. He was also stationed in Sinagpore (where I was born in 1956), Catterick, back to Singapore (Amoy Quee was whwere we were stationed, Bampton Oxfordshire 63 to 66 and Great Wakering Essex 68 to 69. We emigrated to Australia after dad got out of the Signals, but he and mum went on to New Zealand. Unfortunately dad died last year Jan 2004 without ever making it back to the UK. Mum still lives in NZ with my sister Carol, if anyone remembers Dave and Olive Burrows mum I'm sure would love to hear from them. I do know that my dad loved his life in the Signals along with all the friends he made. Thankyou very much, Ken Burrows
