I recently came across a 9" plate. Al it says on the back is canonsburg pottery Co.
Made in he USA

it has a gold ring around the outside edge and around the inner ridge. around the outer edge it has a brown strip with black diamonds and dots. also has purple roses and other wildflowers around it.
if anyone has any information on it it wwould be greatly appreciated.

I have a Keystone serving platter. I am not sure how old it is. I am only looking to see what the era it came from. It has gold trim and a thin gold ring around the bottom of the platter. I have quite a few pieces of Keystone made in USA canyonsburg pottery Co. dishes and serving dishes and platters. I found a set of dishes at a garage sale that were made by the Canonsburg Pottery Company. The pattern is wild clover. They were all in the original packaging and there was a flyer in one of the boxes. The flyer was from an acme super market saying that with a purchase of $5, you could get a set of four dishes for 99 cents. In later weeks you could get other dishes for other prices. The flyer was dated July 15, 1957. So I now have seven of the starter sets (a large plate, salad plate, cup and saucer), a 3 tiered serving tray, and a cake set (serving plate with matching spatula). I am curious as to the value of this, if anyone has any idea. Even if you don't, it's a pretty cool piece of history =).

I'd like to learn about the various decal patterns applied to Canonsburg Pottery Co.'s Keystone body, and about the company's history...is there an online source of such information? Or a Book?

(I'm interested because I have a set of the above dishes on the Keystone body, but without a decal pattern name indicated...it's a floral spray with a red rose(?) and a blue five-petalled flower at the center, a yellow five-petaled flower on the left and a variety of smaller flowers in purple, blue and yellow (cream clay-body with clear glaze and gold edging)....any idea of its name?

I have a set of Canonsburg dishes. They are Allegneny type. I have 8 big dishes, 8 dessert plates, 8 saucers, 8 teacups, 8 little bowls, a serving bowl and a sugar bowl. They are in near perfect shape - white with silver trim, a light blue feather in the center and light blue star bursts scattered over it. I have a set of dinnerware that is a saet of 6 saucers, tea cups, and plates. I also has a serving dish and a gravy boat. On the back it says "The Hallmark of Quality 22 Kt old" It also has a picture of a conon on it that reads "Canonsburg" There are pinkis flowers with leaves on the dishes and also have a rim off gold. I recently opened a box of china that my sister gave me back in 1983. She acquired it when my great uncle died in 1981. He was approximately 82 years old when he died. I have a rather extensive set of canonsburg china. I got it from my grandmother. The back states canonsburg china. I have been unable to identify the pattern. It has a black edge with small pink roses woven through it. About every 2 inches there is an opening and a rose with small green leaves is shown in the opening. My grandmother was a florist in Canonsburg for 69 years - Cumer's Greenhouse.

My father "fibbed" about his age and got his first job at the Canonsburg Pottery Company when he was 14 years old.

I was born in Canonsburg and last visited my grandmother in 1992 shortly before she passed away at the age of 89 (she was still running the greenhouse!)

The antique shops sound wonderful and we hear a vist to the All Clad factory for their semiannual sales can be a fun!

If any dealers have Cumer's Greenhouse advertising memorabilia for sale, I would be interested in having them contact me.

hi im not really into antiques but me grandmother passes away and while cleaning out her house i came across dishes, bolws, tea cups.. all from the hallmark canonsburg. the pattern is a large flower in the center of the plate similar to a daisy in a pinkish peach color, the outter side of the plate has the same flower much smaller around the whole plate all twined together, and the outter edge of the plate is lined in 22kt. gold. anybody have any ideas if it is a collector item? if you dont know could you direct me somewhere else? thanks!!!

I have just bought 10 cups made by Canonsburg Pottery Co. The have 22 kt. gold rim with a gold stripe on the handle.Then there is a cluster of flowers with a pink rose, a white daffodil with orage around the center part. To the left of the pink rose are 2 small orange flowers. Then below this is a wider bank of gold, about 1/4 " wide. The cups are not marked on the bottom.
