| Comments: | I wish I could read Welch (Not only for the Zeta-Jones
factor ;) ) but because I would love to hear what everyone has to say about Catatonia. I first heard them while living in Holland and didn't think much at the time, but something was so haunting and compelling that I eventually picked up International Velvet and Equally Cursed.. at a store. GOD IT IS JUST SUCH AN AMAZING RECORD! As I now live in California, where we truly are dead from the waist down, I am just amazed by everything on the record. I told my friend that the musicianship makes a room, that's perfectly painted white, and Cerys' voice is a bright red fat crayon that some 4 year old takes to these walls, growling, scratching, inking red all over in this beautiful musical space..i'm just constantly in awe. It's the closest thing to good opera I've ever heard. I chose Dazed..as my favorite song because I love the way Cerys says "used It's like Hank Williams' sorta...it's awesome. That and she's such a beautiful woman! Woowowowowow. But unlike Blondie, she's not just this incredibly talented writer / singer who people obsess over that leads this band of just OK people. It's like..the band brings so much more out of her and she of them, I can just feel this ... tension working there, it's so amazing...god. I'm ranting. By the way, I read that Cerys grew lettuce. That rules. I'm going snowboarding tomorrow. Whee! Cheers |
