He, along with co-author Jon Lewis,have published the Grey Griffins series....the dice/card game used by the kids in the book is currently being developed by the wizkids, whom I'm sure you are familiar with. Here's the books and their web site...and other info.... Revenge of the Shadow King Rise of the Black Wolf Fall of the Templar (published January 08) www.greygriffins.com Some people have referred to this series as the "American Harry Potter." It's high fantasy for the pre-teen to adult age group. I helped to design, compose, and proofread these books, along with many others, including the first two Harry Potters, Alan Greenspans recent book, as well as the novelizations for the most recent Star Wars, Batman, and Superman movies. Yes, we know the endings for the movies before they come out. We just did the one for the latest Indiana Jones movie, and sorry, you're not going to get the spoiler from me! Derek and Jon's books are doing well. Scholastic (the publisher) did a preprinting of 500,000 for Rise of the Black Wolf. In addition to producing a dice/card game that the protagonists play in the book--joining up with the WIZKIDS to develop the dice/card game that the kids play in the book (it's just about ready to be released)--they have partnered with Executive Producer Mark Gordon (Saving Private Ryan, Speed, The Day After Tommorw, Grays Anatomy) to develop this series into a major motion picture. And there are more books to come. The authors will be appearing at the Phoenix Comicon convention at the end of January. Anyway, the authors take the time to speak at library's and bookstores across the country (often on their own dime), and are dedicated towards breaking down any barriers towards young people becoming writers. They are the real deal. Just a heads up, as this may be a game people want to stock in the years to come.
