| Comments: | To the Florez family with regard to Angel: Love comes in many forms; never before (or since) have I been impacted by such an electrifying vibration from just ONE person -- through our television set in New York! I refuse to accept that he's gone, because his spirit lives forever... the flesh is secondary. The memories and images I share with my own children are a testimony the enduring legacy of the artistry of Angel. May you forever walk in the eternal fields of peace. SOMEONE SEND ME A JPEG AT YAHOO FOR MY SITE. P L E A S E . . . Respectfully, Eric. |

| Comments: | I am so saddened by the death of this wonderful guy. I had the opportunity to spend an afternoon with Angel in 1978 or 1979. My friend Jeri B and I were walking down the street and my friend said, I think that is Angel from the MMC. She went up to him and introduced us and he was very sweet and patient with our gushing fan raving. The he asked us what we were doing and we told him that we were going to the Artesia High School carnival. He asked if he could hang out with us. We were both so shocked but yet completely honored that he would even want to. We spent the afternoon at the carnival and he really did just hang out with us, riding the rides and playing the Midway. I was about 10 or 11 at the time, but even then I thought he was the nicest person I'd ever met and will always treasure that afternoon when I met somebody famous and discovered that he was far more than I had ever imagined he would be. |

| Comments: | I just found out Angel passed away on this website. I am now 44 and I was born on April 25, 1963, the same date of his passing. I knew "Angelo" and I am proud to say I dated him. I remember meeting Angelo's mother, a proud woman She was a beautiful person, just like her son. I had often wondered what Angelo was doing. I always thought he was out and about making people smile. Not knowing he was doing somthing that he loved to do. I never thought he was ill. We don't expect beatiful people, like Angelo, to leave us so soon. But I am sure he is still doing what he loved to do and that is making the "Angels" smile. Angelo, you will never be forgotten. Love Jack |

| Comments: | I was a big fan of the NMMC and ironically, 10 years later when I was 16 I worked in the Parade dept. at Disneyland and had the opportunity to work with and meet Angel. It was 1987's New Very Merry Christmas Parade, it was a very big cast and I really didn't work alongside Angel as we were in different units(sections) of the parade. But I had seen him only from afar at first and thought he looked familiar, later when I overheard someone say who he was, I approached him and told him I had been a big fan of the show. He was very nice and very gracious and also told me that he now went by the name DiAngelo. We never got the chance to chat for longer than a minute as we were always running around having to get somewhere backstage, but he always gave a hello and a smile whenever we saw each other. I regret not getting to know him better but feel privileged to have met someone associated with a happy time in my childhood. I know you're in a better place Angel, God Bless You. |

I am glad that I have this to remember him by. The album has his picture wearing his signature great big smile! A good way to remember him. |

| Comments: | I Saw My Angel Smilin' At Me
Just sitting on my bed, minding my own B., I looked up... and... I saw my angel smilin' at me. The pain I was feelin' was soon released. I am now at peace Since I noticed him standing there. He recited to me psalm, Making me feel a little calm. Shining ever-so bright, There he was, standing in the light. He was so elegant, all in white, Filled with so much love. No mistake, He's my angel from above. Even if I don't see him with my physical eyes, I'm not surprised To know he may be Watchin' over me. In him I confide, the truth I cannot hide. His visits are precious just as they are to be. I'm glad I saw my angel smilin' at me. Fond memories I have taken collectively, Capturing the essence of a soul, Enjoying one respectively. Why, just two days ago... Or was it three? I saw my angel smilin' at me. He lets me know That whatever I do, wherever I go, He may not always let himself show, But I can feel his presence, tho'. In my heart it's him I wear, Thankful for his love, Knowing my angel is there, Smilin' at me. -- JoAndra Van Dowall, Fri. Mar. 3, 2005 |

| Comments: | I remember wanting to get home from school in time to watch the NMMC every afternoon. Like many others I learned all the songs and knew each of their names by heart. They were all around my age, so they were like my TV best friends. Each one contibuted so much to the show. Living in SC there weren't many Latinos so Angel stood out from the others and became my favorite. I used to love watching him play the saxophone at the tail end of the lineup on "Surprise day". I loved his big smile and enthusiastic personality. He hosted a show while they were at Disneyland with one of the other Mousketeers. Not sure which one. But I remember him holding the microphone and letting others get some spotlight. He was so kind and talented. When the show went off the air, I grew up and put those days behind me. Only today at 41 yrs of age, did I think of them and wanted to know what each of them were doing now. So I did my search thing and found this site. I was devastated to learn about Angel and Scott's passing. I remember both of them so well, even though it has been 28 years since I watched them. It's as if I learned that they passed away still as kids, forgeting that we all grew up. Where have all the years gone? I didn't even cry when my dad passed away. But I'm in tears reading about Angel and Scott. I'm especially moved by Angel because he was my favorite. He was the one who played the saxophone as I did when I was in school. I wish their families peace in knowing that their children touched many of our lives all across the world in the 70's. I will forever miss them.
I didn't realize what impact they had on me until now. I loved Angel then, and I guess I still do. |

Inside of course was the poster with information about each member. I used to read Angel's bio over and over not knowing that Hawaiian Gardens(where he lived) was down the street from me! Later a friend who lived there told me he actually knew Angel and I was so excited. I regret never asking him to introduce me. I always remember when Angel would sing and play guitar. He was so funny too. I am a performer today and Angel was probably my first idol growing up. May his family rejoice in the fact that Angel will truly be missed and that he inspired so many... |

| Comments: | Hi,
I was just searching the web this morning, catching up on some things and I came across the page. I had no idea that Angel had passed away. He was a large part of me being in the Entertainment business. Years ago I lived in Cerritos where his family lives. I was a piano teacher. I met him because he wanted to learn how to play the piano. It was the encouragement of his family that caused me to actually seek out Hollywood and develope my career. He was, I believe 13 when I met him. He was the biggest goof-ball, always a million laughs. In the 70's I had written a song called "Disco Roll" and he recorded it and even performed it at a special event at Lake Havasue (not sure of the spelling now). I remember the long evenings with his family and the fun my children and Angel used to have. This family believe in me and were and are the kindest people. I eventually moved to Hollywood and now have an office in the Universal building. From such a meeting...from such a small beginning...great things did come. I'd always loved the entertainment world. Grew up glued to the TV set. But it was Angel and his family that encouraged me to see what it was all about. They asked me to manage him ..so I gave it a shot. It was his name that opened some beginning doors for me in Hollywood. I have been telling the story for years about my first client, Angel, who was at that time an out of work Mouse. Now..amidst the good memories there will be the sadness knowing that he has passed away. All my deepest love to his parents and I share your grief. Judy Belshe / Casting Director |

He was my favorite Mouseketeer, and I'll never forget his energy, enthusiasm, and of course his million-dollar smile. Life is worth living if you can spread some joy and happiness to others. Well, Angel certainly did that. Thanks for the memories, Angel. |

| Comments: | I watched the 70s MMC when I was growing up and I remember
Angel. All the kids were adorable and talented, but Angel really stood out from the rest. I am in shock and deeply saddened to learn of his death and also that I had not heard about it sooner. May Angel truly rest in peace. My deepest sympathies go out to Angel's family. Angel was loved and adored by so many. |

| Comments: | How very sad to hear about Angel's death. I was just
thinking about him the other day as I went through some boxes in my parents' attic. When I was 12, we went across the country to California. It was a great surprise when we went to Disneyland to find out that the Mouseketeers were performing! My sister, cousin, and I loved the show and all of the Mouseketeers. There were a lot of local teenagers there that must have visited often. One of them showed us who Angel's mother was. We gave her our address and she said Angel would write us a letter. He did, and I still have it. I am very sad to hear that he died. |

| Comments: | I am devastated to hear of Angel's death, although it does
bring some well-deserved literal meaning to his name. I am eager to know, for the record: How did he die? How many of the following did he star in? 1. Chess 2. Grease 3. Hair 4. Jesus Christ Superstar 5. Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat 6. West Side Story Any of these would have truly been his due. Thanks for getting back to me on this. Sincerely, Pat Jackson 1120 Garfield Avenue S. Pasadena, CA 91030 626-799-4557 |

| Comments: | This was also a shock to me. Like waking up from a dream by
being splashed with cold water. My happy memories of him from the show, the space of twenty years with that vision, and the harsh reality of his death. I hope he was happy during that time. I really can't put this any better than what Dale said about Angel. So much radiating energy under those Mouse ears. You could feel it. Truly Angel was the type of person to whom the old saying of "burning twice as bright and half as long" would apply. Rest in peace, Angel. You were a great example and a lesson to us all. If there is a life after death, I know it won't be dull with him running around. |

| Comments: | As a prepubescent girl at the time the NMMC kids were on
TV, I (along with my best friend at the time) became a devout fan. We went to Disneyland every chance we got to see them perform, and once I even went by myself--rode the bus from Pasadena! As some others have said, Angel was a tad on the effeminate side, but to my 11 and 12 year old sensibilities, that didn't matter. I always thought he was very cute, sweet, and talented (yes, I had a crush on him). :) I am shocked and saddened to learn of Angel's early death. I extend my best wishes and heartfelt sympathy to his family and all those who loved him. He brightened many lives, and he will be sorely missed. |

something to do with my being a baby at the time), but it is sad to know that he died. My heart goes out to his family. |

| Comments: | The most powerful defining characteristic of Angelo Flores
was his ENERGY. As a kid on television, he seemed to be in a perpetual sugar rush. Watching Angel work wasn't watching a performance as much as it was watching a barely controlled explosion. It seemed to me singing, dancing and acting was a godsend. A marvelous discovery for a kid who ran at full throttle and he threw himself into it heart and soul. On the New Mickey Mouse Club he seemed cheerful, bubbly, vulnerable and at times naive. Angel's voice squeaked and he giggled. He danced well, sang his heart out, overacted his lines and openly laughed at his mistakes on the show in outtakes. He was a high octane personality who seemed to blend his strengths with his faults and didn't worry too much about you seeing both, all honest and open qualities that horrified me as a teenager and made him seem "girlish" to me and my friends. His WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) approach to his role on the show made him easy for us to make fun of, never acknowledging of course how brave it is to be authentic in everything you do. I am saddened that I never got to meet Angelo as an adult. I would have liked to atone for my teenage idiocy by sharing with him how much joy he created, that The New Mickey Mouse Club brought together fans who have made friendships that will last our lifetimes brief or long. Thank you Angelo for putting so much of yourself in your work I am grateful for the small moments in your childhood I was able to share. I will remember fondly your joy, your laughter and your boundless energy. You gave it selflessly in every performance and I'm sure in your life as well. It not only seemed to define everything you did, it seemed to be everything you were. You are loved and remembered by many |

| Comments: | This news is not at all what I had expected. I'm so very
sorry that we lost such a bright, kind soul. He was much, much too young. I grew up in Orange County and spent MANY days at Disneyland watching the NMMC. I learned the songs, the dances- and the gossip and friendship- it was an amazing time. The Mouseketeers became a sort of family to me in a way in those years. Angelo had such a sweetness- an exuberance- he was what my Grandma would call a "Firecracker" and you just had to love him- it was impossible not to. My own brother passed away from AIDS in July 1998. I know too well the pain and suffering this horrible disease can cause. Please, in honor of Angelo, please donate and/or volunteer at an AIDS organization or research facility so we can care for those afflicted and finally stop the disease forever. I don't want to lose any more family like this. I will miss you- dear sweet sunny Angelo and I send your family my love and prayers. What we have lost... |

was one of those special, happy persons that even by the soft glow of the TV set, spread his joy to many people. I can only imagine the great loss to those that knew him personally and I share in your grief for this wonderful man. I think God has saved a special place in heaven for someone who can do something as amazing as that. |

| Comments: | Man, this hit me like a ton of bricks. I remember watching
the NMMC and seeing a lot of myself in Angel's personality. What a fantastic and energetic person. He truly put himself totally into everything that he did and he LOVED being a mouseketeer. The best way that we can all keep his memory alive is to give our best in everything we do just as Angel did as a mouseketeer. May your smile and spirit continue to bring joy to many people though you have left this earthplane and may we all share that joy with everyone that we meet! We'll miss you Angel!! |

the opportunity to meet him, his engery, humor, and smile touched all of us who watched him on the '70s NMMC. I know he is looking down on us now, and smiling at us. God keep you close Angel, you were taken from us too soon. |

| Comments: | Angel was a guy who gave the New Mickey Mouse Club HIS ALL
-- that's something no one can take away from him. It's truly a shame that he never lived to see the limited reruns of the show on the Disney Channel in '98 and '99, so let's keep trying to bring the episodes back in his memory. Rest In Peace, Amigo! |
