Comments:A MESSAGE FROM NORTH KOREA FREEDOM COALITION

Dear North Korea Freedom Coalition Members and Friends:

Can you feel it? The anticipation...the building momentum as we prepare for North Korea Freedom Week 2009! This is it...eight days until our defector delegation arrives at Dulles Airport to begin the largest, most expansive North Korea Freedom Week we have ever planned.

I will be sending out another general update about the week's events but wanted to especially share with NKFC members and friends, these action items, news and volunteer needs:

Flyer Distribution this Weekend and All Next Week: Right now, Hyun, Hyoju, Jeff, Jane and others are preparing for another flyer blitz this weekend. If you can join tomorrow or help out next week, please email Henry henry@defenseforum.org Everyone should print out the flyers from our website and take with them to whatever events you are going to over the next 8 days. We designed a special fact sheet: North Korea: Did You Know? which is perfect for people who do not know about the North Korea human rights situation and it includes our flyer. See attached.

Crossing Screening this Sunday: If you've continued to miss seeing this powerful film, it will be shown at International Calvary Church (one of the North Korea Freedom Week host churches) in Springfield at 6 pm on Sunday, April 19. Church is located at 5700 Hanover Avenue, Springfield VA 22150

Visits to Members of Congress: We need everyone who plans to visit their Members of Congress after the rally on April 28 to register -- even if you already did, please re-register because due to a technical problem the early registrations did not come through correctly. Click here to let Lindsay Vessey know you will be part of this effort: http://nkfreedom.org/index.php?id=61

Special Lunch for Korean American NKFC Activists: Ambassador Jhe Seong Ho, Ambassador at Large for Human Rights for the Republic of Korea, is planning a special lunch for Korean Americans who are activists with the North Korea Freedom Coalition. If you are an active member of NKFC and are interested in participating in this lunch which will be held 1 pm Sunday, April 26 before the NKFW Prayer Service, please send me an email: skswm@aol.com

North Korea Genocide Exhibit: Nancy Purcell and Linda Dye will be setting up and taking care of this exhibit at Union Station on Monday, April 27 and at the rally on Tuesday, April 28. If you can help them on either of those days, please email Nancy at Rtp3@aol.com

Rally Set Up and Volunteers for North Korea Freedom Day Rally: If you can help during North Korea Freedom Day itself - April 28, please let Sue Logan know at sueyoonlogan@gmail.com. She will need volunteers to help with the speaker and press check in tables.

Housing: Remember that if you live in the DC area and can open your home to folks coming for NKFW, please let Jane know jane.e.yang@gmail.com. Jane has been able to fulfill all requests so far, but we are anticipating that we will have some college students coming for NKFW that will also need housing.

Also, we are still recruiting and looking for:

--a 12+ passenger van and volunteer driver for the week! (we have such a large defector delegation we need another van)

--a simultaneous (Korean to English) translator for the Thursday, April 30, 10 am Congressional Human Rights Commission hearing

--translators for the DFF Forum at noon on Friday, May 1 (we will need 10 to 12 translators -- one at each table -- free lunch and good time to interact with the defector delegation and Congressional staff)

We have confirmed that North Korea Freedom Week 2010 (next year) will be held in Seoul, South Korea, so this is the year to do everything you can to make NKFW 2009 the best ever, so that North Korea Freedom Week 2011 can be held in...... Pyongyang.

Acta Non Verba,

Suzanne

Comments:Mr. Fukuichiro Osawa, the father of Takashi Osawa (my cousin and one of the abductees), passed away today at age of 98.
I deeply regret that we could not rescue Takashi when his father was alive.
Thank you very much for your support and understanding.
We will not give up rescuing all the abductees.

Comments:By making a deal with North Korea, compromising, and even giving money, if we could achieve peace and happiness, it is great.

However the history proves otherwise.

North Korea has repeated cheating on making Nuke.
North Korea has used international aid to strengthen the dictatorship, not for the North Korean people.
North Korea continues to deny massive abduction from all over the world.

I oppose de-list of North Korea as a terrorist state.
