While there, I had the Horse Soldier look up Abraham Shockey and got a lot of information, including the fact that Mr. Shockey was twice married. I am descended from Catherine Kerr Shockey. She had one child by Mr. Shockey, a boy, Abraham. There is a woman by the name of Mary (Molly) Shockey, from whom I am descended. I don't know where she comes in, as the only known female child of Abraham Shockey was by Mary Counsellor, and her name was Temperance E. Shockey. I have photos of Abraham Shockey, Catherine Kerr, and Mary Shockey. Did Catherine raise Temperance as her own? Did Temperance change her name from Temperance to Mary? Margaret Jane Vansickle b.1880. They had many children and lived in Hardin and Logan counties in Ohio. I found a Donald VanSickle but am unsure if he is her brother or father. I know Margaret had a sister named Delli and she married Webb Thompson and a brother named Webster. After James Albert died Margaret married a man last name Cosart.
