I would just like to comment on your essay about footbinding as I feel it contained some glaring omissions. Footbinding was not universal in China, it was limited to upper classes and then only to the upper classes of certain areas. There were plenty of Chinese communities who did not practice it at all.
I do not defend the practice at all but I think the spin you put on it was a bit to universal and does not accurately portray what really happened | |
