Our Aaron Davis (b. 1758 Scotland) was one of the first settlers in Powell Valley, Claiborne Co. TN, having gone there about 1795 or so. There is still a road named Aaron Davis Road just off Old Hwy 63 about half-way between Town Creek and Speedwell TN. They were instrumental in the beginning of the Davis Creek Church. They were neighbors of the Yoakum’s according to several county/state/church documents. Aaron Davis was a Captain in the 9th Regiment of Tennessee Militia, Claiborne County. | Comments: | I am looking for the burial site of Joseph G. Akins. He died July 13, 1863 and was Sgt. in the 6th Georgia Cavalry Volunteers Co.F. I've been told that he is buried at the Cumberland Gap National Cemetery in Claiborne, TN. However, no one seems to know where it is located or if it even exist. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

They live in Claiborne Co,TN. in and before 1820. William owned and sold some land on the head of Bald Creek. As of yet I have never found anyone connected to my William ROGERS/RODGERS. :( Martha Patsy CROSS parents were Edward CROSS and Rebecca GIBBONS they lived in Hawkins County. William and Martha ROGERS children are named Hiram,James,Wiley, Elizabeth, Mary "Polly" and Rebecca. Martha Patsy left William in 1820 and moved to cumberland Co,KY. and later to Russell Co,KY. Townsend was born here in 1834 a White. It is said that his parents died when he was young and that he was taken in by a family with the last name Townsend. According to an 1880 census record William's parents were born in TN. Any information would be appreciated.
