| Comments: | I had a fantastic time for both nights of the reunion, and I join the appreciative gang in thanking those who worked so hard in putting the weekend together, with Jeanie and Doug at the top of the long list. My only regret for the Friday night event was that I was having so much fun making music, I didn't get to visit with very many previous classmates. Saturday made up for that, and I so enjoyed speaking and catching up with not only old friends whom I had lost contact with over the DECADES (!), but I also enjoyed visiting with numerous former classmates whom I had never really even known during our 3 years at SME. This is one of the things I truly appreciated about the reunion. Enjoying catching up with former friends and acquaintances was expected; enjoying speaking and getting to know those whom I had never really spoken with before was an unexpected plus, and a great quality of the "vibe" of our reunion. It does not surprise me that our SME class of '69 had one of the most successful SME reunions ever. What a great, awesome collection of people! My best wishes to you all, and I look forward to our next reunion. |

| Comments: | This was certainly quite a weekend. Being the "official" photographer gave me the opportunity to visit with almost everyone in attendance. And yes, I was in front of the camera for several photos. I am making progress on the editing of photos for the dvd. I took about 500 photos, and Cynthia Martin Speed, who volunteered to assist me (thank goodness--and she did a fantastic job as well!) had about 400 photos. I plan to cut the number down to a manageable 300 or so for the dvd. Now if any of you receive emails about blackmail monies... I had a great time talking to old friends. I was surprised at how many people I actually recognized without name tags. Perhaps because we all still look so young. I will also encourage anyone who was not there to send me a photo to include in the dvd. I have gotten about two dozen from classmates. I would also like to say a big thank you to Jeanie and the rest of the planning committee. They made the two nights very memorable. Just think, only 10 years until our 50th! See you all there! |

| Comments: | It was great to see faces from the past at the Friday night blast! Some even recognized me even though I moved away after Prairie and Indian Hills -- it was fun to scrutinize our middle-aged faces looking for familiar adolescent features. Kudos to Jeanie B and the rest of you for a job well done. And for the former Brownies/Girl Scouts among us, I still have some choice pictures of the Troop! |

| Comments: | Sorry we missed the reunion. Randy and I have been married 35 years and are currently living in OP. We have two daughters, 30 & 27. Our oldest is in Dallas with her husband and 15 month old daughter (the current love of our life). Our youngest is a 5th grade teacher in the Blue Valley School District. I am an interior designer in search of new employment. Randy is a sales rep and part-time musician. Sorry we missed everyone at the reunion, but our granddaughter was in Kansas City for a rare visit. |

| Comments: | I had just the most fabulous time at our (can you believe it?) 40th SME reunion! A HUGE "thank you" to all those that worked so hard to make this happen. I agree with Doug that it was just so sweet to visit with not only old high school buddies, but my long ago grade school friends from Corinth. There were many pals from the past that I did not get to spend much, if any, time with...but hopefully we will do this again (soon?). Please keep posting any possible upcoming get-togethers, large or small, and I'll really try and make it up there. xo Dulcy |

| Comments: | What a fabulous weekend. It was SO much fun seeing so many old friends again. From my kindergarten class alone (... 53 years ago) Dulcy Stewart, Barbie Lundell, Nancy Senter, Patti Manne, June Langham and John Mauer were all there. I see such young faces when when I see the Corinth gang ... somehow they all are so easily recognizable. I'd guess there were close to 250 there at the Friday night pre-party. We took the place over, and it spilled out onto the sidewalk. The musicians that played after the fabulous Belltones were Norm Weinberg, Eric Bikales, Greg Tamblyn, Fred Oram, Steve Hurst, Jean Schwab, Rick McNeely, and Jody Altman singing "Since I Fell for You" and others. You guys all rocked the house! I'd be remiss if I didn't say something about Jeanie Bottorff Rosenberg, her unending dedication to our class, and for all of these wonderfully planned reunions over the years. We all owe her an enormous thank you for the weekend. Jeanie, I bow to you. Thank you! I'll always remember all of the smiling faces of people when they first saw lifelong friends again. Those memories will last a long long time. Thank you to everyone that made it possible. |

| Comments: | Congratulations to all of you who worked so long and hard to put together the 40th reunion. Kansas City looks great as did all of you. Seeing all of you brings back loads of memories some of which make me wonder how we made it this far. I still see you as we were and know we are now our parents how in the world did that happen so fast. We now live in Arizona and having just had the experience of lovely Kansas City heat and humidity it makes the desert heat seem far more tolerable. Good luck to all of you it was a great walk down memory lane |

| Comments: | Just wanted to let everyone know how much I enjoyed our reunion. It was wonderful seeing ole friends. Sorry that I didn't get to see some of you. Perhaps in our next one. Congrats to Doug and the rest of the group for the hard work that we into our function. Anyone out there that wasn't able to attend you missed a good time. Keep my e-mail address and perhaps some of us can keep in touch instead of loosing each other. Have a wonderful time and wish it could have been longer. |

| Comments: | Greetings to all! Thank you one and all for everything you did for the reunion and this website. It has been a delight to read your words, see your smiles, and hear your "voices" again. The pictures and the notes from my Somerset childhood friends are an amazement and a delight. I cannot wait to have a chance to reconnect -- what fun we had in those days running around the woods, riding bikes, and playing ball. My wife, Becky Rose, and I have two wonderful young adults who are well on their way. We live in St. Paul, MN and travel frequently to KS, MA, and TX. -- Mike |

| Comments: | What a great weekend! For those of you who missed it, you MUST plan on the 50th (if not before). Everyone I talked to (both nights) was having a great time and it was so exciting to see how many people had come from all over the US. In fact, I think the out-of-staters may have outnumbered the Kansans! Again, so many thanks to the committee - you did a fantastic job. Everything was perfect. |

| Comments: | Ditto Cathy, I have lived in a lot of places, but I still enjoy coming back to Kansas City. Thanks to Jeanie and to everyone on the committee who helped make the Reunion so successful. It was a memorable evening, esp. visiting with so many old friends and classmates, including all my "ninnies" and reliving our memories of SME. My love and best to you all... |

| Comments: | YOU ALL made this reunion weekend the best. You Lancers Rock! What a terrific way to kick off the weekend festivities with none other than Lonnie Fame and the Belltones. I loved that so many of our talented classmates also joined in and played too. It was heartwarming to see Jody Altman sing again, as sweetly as ever. I know that it was a memorable moment as I heard some band members comment that it was just like old times. And indeed it was. Rick Caplan and Michael Herzmark are to be congratulated for organizing and implementing a great evening of music. Thank you also to Mike Clark for stepping in last minute to take the video for the night. I know we had well over 200 in attendance, as I ran out of name tags. I guess that’s not such a bad thing, since it forced you to dust off the cobwebs of your mind to recall that face you knew so many years ago. Saturday night brought out even more new faces as we continued the celebration in the old lobby of the Hotel Muehlebach. Great food, great memories and great friends. As always, some of the group continued the party in the bar until closing time. This is the class that just keeps on, keeping on. I have so many to thank for making this a success. I appreciate each and every one of you and thank ALL OF YOU for your hard work. Thanks to a great committee for their attention to detail in making this a success. John Gage was nice enough to let me take control and see this weekend to it’s fruition. I appreciate his trust in me. Harry Zecy, Susie Jackson Schweiker and I started brainstorming not long after the 35th reunion about how we could reach out and find everyone for our 40th reunion. Just to keep in touch, I started a yahoo group with the few email names I had from the 35th reunion. Fast forward a few years as we were getting closer to our 40th, Steve Jaynes volunteered to expand on the yahoo group by creating this website for our class. Not long after that, Doug Tyler asked how we were going to locate classmates and that is all it took, as he graciously volunteered to find as many classmates as he could. (He may never volunteer again) It was a tremendous undertaking locating members of this class. It is because of Steve and Doug that we have this terrific website and a wonderful database of the where abouts of most of you. I hope you will sign in to the website and/or join the yahoo group to take advantage of these opportunities to reconnect with others. Thank you Steve and Doug for your continued dedication and perserverance in making this all possible. Susie, Harry and I then concentrated on finding the right location, for the right money to hold the reunion. The Downtown Marriott was the best deal and the rest is history. Harry and I spent a lot of time at happy hour on how to proceed and what to do to make this a great evening. You know, somebody had to and we were more than happy to oblige. <g> He and I worked out the details with Jan Stephenson at the hotel, relying on her advice where the food was concerned. I believe from the comments we’ve heard, she gave us a great selection of food. Her staff also set the room up beautifully. Bob Linebarger, our official photographer and name tag maker, was kept busy taking photos. Cynthia Martin Speed offered her photography skills as well and was busy, busy, busy all weekend too. You two are the best. Can’t wait to see the pictures. I hope you each had a chance to enjoy yourselves. Bob is putting together a CD and it still isn’t too late to buy one. Marlene Kritzler wasn’t able to be with us and sent in her picture asking to be included on the CD. What a brilliant idea! We capitalized on that, extended the deadline and encouraged anyone not able to join us, to send in a picture. Jeff Welch kept his long time job of collecting the money. He was terrific in keeping meticulous records of the money received. I know he loves his job because so many of you are nice enough to drop him a line, keeping us all up to date about what is happening in your lives. Last but certainly not least, Pete Stepp maintained our check book and made sure the bills were paid. The registration desk was handled by Peggy Schiffman Reese, Nancy Scherrer White, Steve Robertson, Janet Kupperman, Steve Orchard Cohen and Barbara Lundell Moriarity. That is a big job checking in 200 people!! Thank you all. Peggy, Nancy, Doug, Ellen Byers, Phoebe Johnson Grindal and Gloria Gaddis Estopare also were there to help set up before the night got started. Kathy Hosterman Todd brought yearbooks from Jr. high and high school plus grade school pictures and Harbingers. The SME archivist, Beth Fowler, let us borrow yearbooks and memorabilia. She was responsible for sending me the picture of Hope Harris’ Memorial bench that sits outside the cafeteria in the courtyard. If you ever want to view anything connected with our class, let me know and I will put you in touch with her. Pam Floth Wells and I made the newest poster boards with pictures of past reunions. Some of you wanted to tour the school but due to construction, it wasn’t possible this year. Perhaps in the future if there is enough interest, we can do just that. I know this is long......but it is my opportunity to thank you all. I have this fear that I’ve left someone out so please let me know if I missed your name. Each person mentioned did double duties in too many ways to list and weren’t just responsible for one task. This reunion truly was a group effort. THANK YOU! Jeanie |

| Comments: | Thank you to everyone who worked on the reunion and to all who came. What a wonderful weekend! Kansas City looked spectacular, but the best part was being with longtime friends and the memories that go from grade school through high school to now. I know that as one who moved from Kansas City 29 years ago it was very emotional being "home" again. Thanks especially to you who live in KC for welcoming the "expatriates" back. For all who weren't able to come, I hope you can come the next time. In the meantime, let's stay in touch through this wonderful website. Four of us from the class of 69 were on the flight back to Denver today, so we're thinking of a mini-reunion in CO----If you in other states want in on the details, let us know. Cathy Cathy |

| Comments: | It was great to see so many of you last night! Thank you to all of you who organized the reunion. It was so much fun....I just wish we had had more time. (Sorry I missed the Friday festivities) I didn't even get a chance to say goodbye, because my daughter and her boyfriend picked me up. Paula, I didn't get your phone no., and I want to call you and Cyn. Tell her how much we missed her and that we send all our love. And to all of the class, let's try to make the next reunion. It really was wonderful. I keep thinking of things I wanted to ask some of you. Mark Simpson, how is your cousin Janna? Tell her hi from me. I could go on and on, but thanks again to everyone . All the best to all of you. |

| Comments: | Whew... thanks to each of the committee who thought through so many things, planned and organized so much, and gave us a great reunion weekend. Especially I want to commend Doug and Jeanie who did the lion's share of the legwork. (And of course, Steve, who did this website) Thanks from me, and no doubt others will raise a glass in toasting you for days and maybe months to come. It will be a hoot to see the Linebarger photos. Not sure when that will be ready, but if any want to see (or have any of) some I took, have a look at http://www.flickr.com/photos/bobmendo/sets/72157620013602154/ You may download any of them you desire. Details there. And it's really simple. I go back to Sydney tomorrow with good memories and lots of stories to share. Thanks to each of you who came, who still care to share some of your life with others from 'back then' and who want to keep making your lives something worthy to share when we re-gather whenever that might be. Maybe we can think through how to get the others, the 450+ others who didn't join us, to come along next time. Was it a good time of year? A bridge too far for some? Economic downturn knocked out pension and thus vacation for some? Whatever the reasons, I hope we'll try it again down the road, and I'll hope to make it again. all the best bob ______ Bob Mendelsohn National Director, Jews for Jesus Australia PO Box 925 Sydney NSW 2001 AUSTRALIA www.jewsforjesus.org.au |
