| Comments: | I was wondering if the earthquake was in the area where the orphanages were built by "Sharing Christ Ministries". It's horrible what has happened there, I just pray the children and workers are safe in the homes that "Sharing Christ" built so many years ago. We are in the process of building a new church at Old Piney! Finally after all these years, work began in December. There've been so many obstacles overcome, but finally in God's time we are underway! I'll know more as the construction progresses but I would really like for you to be able to come after it is finished in the fall of this year. Hopefully work can progress on schedule! It's going to be about the same sq.ft. as the old church, classes, library/office, fellowship hall and auditorium
all on one level (seating about 250 in the sanctuary). But anyway if we can work it out for this year great, if not we plan on next spring, Lord willing!! Also, our daughter is engaged to be married in August, so this is going to be a busy year!! Love & Prayers, Janice |

He tells stories about seeing your bus in Florida and stopping to see you. My mother, Arlene, passed away May 10; Dad had one of his favorites of your songs sung at the funeral. Is the station protected in trust if Jimmy and Jo Ann are too ill or sadly if they pass away??? wggs is much too important not to protect. | Comments: | Amen!!! Brother Goff and Little Jan are so special. I saw them last night on WGGS T.V. 16. They were sending out magnets to viewers to say thank you. It was so special. I think that Brother Goff was summoned to WGGS by the people he kept calling the "powers to be at Niteline". Something is very wrong with poor ole Jimmy. He was on this Monday Night on Tv 16 to get an award from the South Carolina Broadcasters Association. He still smiles and says "thank you" but very little else. He appears to be somewhat lucid at times, but has very little t say. Is he sick??? Why don`t the other hosts at Niteline ask for prayer and inform the loyal viewers? His wife Jo Ann Thompson looked very ill and pale the last time she was on. The other hosts kept saying that she was in the hospital for a long time. What is wrong with her? Has Brother Jerry also been helping out more at theit TV 57 WATC station in Atlanta??? Will Jerry return soon to WGGS TV 16??? Praise God for Jerry and Little Jan!!!!!!!!!! |

| Comments: | Dr. Goff, I heard the song "Tear Stains in the Sand" years ago on an album my late Aunt Clara had. When she passed we couldn't find the album. I've long wished I'd have asked her for it. I remember as a child going to her house and listening to the album as do several of my cousins. I'm proud to say the songs touched my heart and reminded me so much of my family, especially "Tear Stains in the Sand". My mother and father are God fearing Christian people. My dad's a deacon in one of our Lord's Churchs. I'm proud my faimly knows Jesus as their personal Savior. I was saved when I was 27yrs old and I thank God both of my children are saved and attend Church. I'm Asst. Chief at a small police department in Bald Knob, Arkansas and it's harder everyday to live a Christian life but through and with the grace and faith God gives we can all live for Jesus. I remember the first time I ever attended one of your concerts with my friend Rachel Moncus. I enjoyed it immensely. The concert was in Cedartown, Georgia. I attended your concerts with Rachel and Peggy Scott for several years and also attended the "roast" honoring your thirty years in gospel music in 1983. Many years have passed and Rachel has passed away from complications of diabetes. I have married and have not attended gospel concerts in years, but I have fond memories of you and the guys. Had long delay at Tampa airport & another 3 hour delay at Atlanta airport but finally got to Bloomington at 10:35 pm - waited on luggage until 11:15 pm, then drove home to Decatur. Finally got to bed about 2 am. I told Ed he had just 4 hours to sleep. When the alarm went off at 6 yesterday morning, I tried to get out of bed & he held me and said "let it ring - It'll quit buzzing in a minute!" So we got another hour's sleep before getting ready for church. Had a wonderful time on the trip. Thank the Lord for feeling well. Ed got extremely tired, especially the last day, but is doing fine. As our license plate says, "We B Fine" -- thank you again for the beautiful shirts. Love them!! Such nice material, and they washed beautifully. Enjoyed the anniversary party so much, and especially enjoyed your singing together. It's such a joy to see you two together. We have your photo magnet on our frig so we see you every day! Thanks again for your kindness and the pretty shirts. That was so thoughtful of you, and we appreciate it. Keep on "keeping on" -- and we'll look forward to the next Singing News and the article you have in there. Trust the China trip will be great, and we'll be praying for your safety. But over ten years ago my cousin sang "Please search the Book again" While we were at a family reunion and it tore a hole in me thats never closed. I wish I could sing it well and do at Church gatherings. Decisions that we must make this side of Jordan could make this scenario so true for many. I pray that this doesn't happen to very many, who think they are safe and will see heaven but fall short. It is a constant reminder of the importance of reading the word and working to be true diciples of JESUS following his commands and being born again through him, the only name under heaven where-by we might be saved. | Comments: | I'm watching your infomercial about the $150 Subject Bible and am quite disheartened to see you charge so much money for the living truth of Gods Word which Christ has freely offered to all men. The King James Bible can be purchsed on amazon.com for only $30, yet like the money changers in the temple it appears that you have chosen to use God and his Word for excessive profit.
I am active in my church and understand that ministry requires funding as a tool to do Gods work, but there's a significant difference between faithfully relying on Gods financial provision and taking advantage of those who trust faithfully in Gods Word. I am reminded of Matthew 6 where I too must remember not to store up treasures for myself here on earth, but to be generous and instead store up treasures in heaven. In Matthew 6 Christ also makes it clear that we cannot serve two masters. It's God or money, we can only choose one. It's my prayer today that we would both seek first the kingdom of heaven and put the needs of others before the needs of ourselves. I ask that you prayerfully consider whether charging $150 for the living truth is putting the needs of others first and if it's advancing the storehouses of the kingdom. God Bless, Chris |

Well, let me tell you what I think, and this is for you and Jan also. There is just a radiance and a glow about the both of you, that I am sure not only is it the Holy Spirit, but you both just shine with love for each other. It transmits a joy into your singing and your testimonies.
My love and admiration for Jan goes back to my teen-age years. I baby-sat for 10.00 per week and spent more than half of that for albums by Wendy and the girls. (Ironically I bought them from the B&J drug store in Swannanoa NC and that is where my church is now in that same building.) I am so glad God put you two together. | Comments: | My admiration for Jerry Goff goes way back to the 70s when it was "Jerry & the Singing Goffs." Their album and rendition of "The Lighthouse" was THE BEST OF ANY. His brother Wally could really play the organ.
"Lasting Sounds" was also a great album with "The Eastern Gate" . . . "I'll Have A New Body" . . . and so many other gospel staples. I'll never forget shaking Jerry's hand after a concert and (as we all do) flippantly saying, "God bless you. I'll be praying for you." As I turned to leave, he wouldn't let go of my hand until he received an assurance that I would really pray and not just SAY that I would. It has been about 37 years (in Pensacola, Florida - you came up the aisle blowing your trumpet!). You haven't changed that much - still handsome and funny. No wonder Lil Jan is "Mrs. Dr. Goff"! She's pretty cute herself. Seriously, the sweet message of our Lord was there tonight even though the power went out (again) and it was hot. Dorothy and I saw you and Jan about a month ago when you were at Silver Dollar City. Our 36th wedding anniversary was on 2 October and a few days before I asked Dorothy what she wanted for our anniversary, and she said she wanted to go to Branson. She really meant Silver Dollar City. Well, I had asked, so I was trapped. We had seen you I think in St. Louis once when you were with the Thrsher Brothers. I was probably with my parents before Dorothy and I were married, but not sure. I have always thought James Blackwood was quite a showman, along with all else he was, but when you came down the aisle with your trumpet (I don't think it was the twin trumpets that night) I told, I think my Mother, that you had outdone James. I think I saw you one or two more times live, maybe at the Coles County (Illinois) Fair once, again maybe with the Thrashers, or maybe just them when you were no longer with them. We had also seen Jan with Wendy and the Sunlighters. Were glad to see you at Silver Dollar City and in fact caught two of your shows. We had seen you "q-tip" piano player with the Palmetto State Quartet and were glad to see him as well. Best to you all, Gene and Doroth PS my Mother died a year ago last July at the age of 95 and a half. She did not know that you and Jan were married and in fact It think she did not know what had happened with Miss Ina. I guess she was too old to read the Singing News carefully. Not to tell my age, but she was almost exactly 20 when I was born. So I am a bit older than you. |

I'm not a member of that church, but I came to hear you all sing and you teach and preach. Oh, what a blessing you were to me. You probably do not remember me, but the last time that I saw you was at your Mom and Dad's retirement banquet in Greenville South Carolina, it was at the same time that our family was leaving the state as a State Youth Director. My dad was W. A. (Dickie) Davis, he was in school with your brother Wally at Lee College. Dad passed away a little over two years ago from a battle with Liver Cancer, at the time of his death he was serving as State Overseer of the Church of God in Virginia.
