| Comments: | This is my uncle Ambrose of 6 East Phillips Street. The Gibbons family lived on that corner from 1890 or so until his older system my mom, Margaret Brennan, died in 1970. He was called "Giz" and died at age 28 in 1938 from pneumonia. He's buried up on Summit Hill with his Mom (Margaret) and Dad (Richard). His older sister graduated from Coaldale HS about 1917. 1 I used to come to Coaldale on visits to Grandma at Christmas, Easter and several times in the summer from about 1945 to 1955. Ambrose had a girl-friend, Marion Sharpe who lived on High St (About 9 or 11). I have been in her home many times. She never married. I have lived here in Fairfax since 1984 and have a wonderful family of 3 children and 3 grandchildren. I would really appreciate contact with anyone who knew my mom when she was in Coaldale.

| Comments: | While I did not graduate from CHS, I did live in Coaldale
for a number of "critical" years. Faithanne(West) and I now live in Warminster, PA (near Doylestown) but we do visit the "valley" (Lansford in particular) more often these days. As folks get older, family responsibilities increase. Considering the history, Coaldale looks rather good these days. In fact, I think it presents itself much better than Lansford. Someone seems to be doing something right.. |
