They were among the best teams in the IHL throughout their existence and almost always had great attendance figures. Orlando loves hockey and deserves a team in either the ECHL or AHL. I mean, if Pensacola and Ft. Myers can have ECHL teams, why not Orlando!? Here's hoping we can get an AHL or ECHL team in the near future. |

I'm a season ticket holder for the Wolves and all last season my 9 year old nephew always referred to Chicago as the Solar Wolves. I got a chance to talk to a family of Solar Bears fans that came to Chicago for the AHL Playoffs last season, they came up to see their boys. It's great getting a chance to root for J.P. | Comments: | As a long time fan of the Bears, one of the hardest things to accept while watching them parade the cup around the ice, was that they would not be given a chance to do it again.
It's great to see the site is still up. It gives us someplace to come back to. When I go to the O-rena now, I am sadly depressed to see the vacancy, where the past division title banners had been so proudly displayed. It's ironic. The one championship banner they won, they never got to raise. Best wishes to all of the players and coaches who gave us a team to be proud of, to cheer for and most importantly, to care about. |

| Comments: | Well, as many have said before, it's very saddening to see the IHL fold, therefore ending the existence of our beloved Solar Bears. For me, this is extremely devastating as the Solar Bears were one of the only things in Orlando worth spending time for. No longer will we be able to see the fuzzy white logo on the jerseys of our players and in the rafters of the O-Rena. At least their 2001 Turner Cup championship, the last one in the league's existence can't be taken away. The Solar Bears will be remembered as the team that went out as champions, and this may not even be the best of it. Be optimistic! They will exist again in another league, and the franchise will live on, being stronger than ever before. If that doesn't happen, the team will have gone out on top, with a better ending than any storybook could have written. The Solar Bears will be #1 forever, in the eyes of all of us. |

| Comments: | Man, I used to live in the Orlando area when the Solar Bears first existed, I used to be a huge fan. I found out just yesterday that they were gone when watching the Capitals Thrashers game [I move up to DC]. The last time I saw them play was in 1998 in the playoffs. I will always miss you Solar Bears! |

| Comments: | Its a shame to see the champions of Orlando folded. But your team gave us the inspiration to create a new team called the Oshawa Solar Bears. Politics play a major role in Minor hockey and my son along with 14 of his team mates have played together for 2 years as a Major Peewee AA and a Minor Bamtam AA team here is Oshawa Ontario Canada. Two years in a row under the same coaching staff the team won the OMHA championship, thats the Stanley cup here in Ontario Canada for 14 and 15 year old kids. This year the coach from the Oshawa Minor Hockey was not granted a team and the kids have now formed a tournament team under the same coaches. We have taken up your logo to keep the teams both proud. Year to date we have played 18 games, won 16 tied 1 lost 1. We have won 2 major tournaments and lost in last weekends championship AAA level hockey.

| Comments: | Nice web site. im from michigan and i play hockey.im 16,i used to go see the vipers a lot just for fun.I saw the solar bears play the vipers a couple of times.all they did was fight.I have a solar bears jersey that i use when i practice.nothing comes between me and my hockey.I want to go pro,someday it may happen.If i do ill be sure to get you guys some tickets.its too bad the league folded.i go to the viper games just to root for the bears.snyder is my favorite player. well see ya |
