| Comments: | I lived in Empire Road Tile Hill North during the 1950's/^60's went to Limbrick Wood Infant & Junior School then to Tile Hill Wood Comprehensive School for Girls. It was a new estate when we moved in can remember them building the flats and bungalows in our road. Some of the family names in our street and surrounding area were White, Mawdsley, McMillan, Webb, Brankin, Taylor, Walker, Murray, Merry, Banister, Jones, Macfarlane, Griffin, Lole, Hughes, Proud, Beale, Gascoigne, Cheesman, Barber, Smith, Cator, Emsley, Godfrey, James, Nutt,Davies, Sorbie to name but a few Remember the summer play scheme held at Templas School. |

| Comments: | How wonderful I found this site I have spent hours reading it and it as given valuable insight into my ancestors as I have been searching for my grandmother and found her in the script of the 1881 census in Tile Hill Lane, she is Lucy Charlotte Clarke aged six she married my grandfather Phillip Shaw in 1898 who were my mothers parents[Lucy Caton} and they went on to live at Far Gosford Street Coventry where Lucy Charlotte died in 1941. |

| Comments: | From 1955 to 1959 I lived at 4 Bantock Road Tile Hill North. They were the best years of my life as I had many friends on the estate and at school. I only attended Limbrick Wood school for a short period before going to Woodlands. Our next door neighbours were the Finnies and Grants. I spent a lot of time with Jim Finnie. It would be good to hear from anyone who knew me. |

| Comments: | I lived at 13 Bliss CLose, Tile Hill North with my family from about 1961 to about 1972 and have very fond memories of the place and the people we knew, so it was great to stumble upon this marvellous website to see it both 'now' and 'then'! I am amazed it all still looks pretty much the same, except for the new library. My paper-round was in and around Jardine Crescent - great to see those maisonettes again which I used to be terrified to deliver to in the dark winter mornings! But the folk used to be very generous at Christmas times as I collected lots of tips! I also remember walking across the field passed The Black Prince (where my brothers started their journey from boys to men!) to the shops with my mum to do the daily shopping, which included queuing up for the co-op plastic coins for the milk, but my favourite shop was the Ironmongers - loved the smell and all the curious things piled up! and of course the delicious aroma eminating from the CHippie! 6d for a bag of chips. A great website! Long may it continue. |

| Comments: | Greetings from Brampton, Toronto, Canada. Have lived here for 35 years. I was forwarded this link to my wonderful days at Whoberley, later called Templars, School in Tile Hill. I attended the junior and senior schools from 1947-1954, leaving from Miss Jones' class to go out into the world, which has treated me very well and my education at Templars was pretty good, and well-rounded. My friends were June Shields, Marlene Dawson, Beryl ("legs"), Jenny Lees. A good friend from the junior school was Anne Paremain who's married name is Quinn. I can only see one or two familiar names on the list, those of Eric Schofield, and Harry Cunningham. Good old school days. Thanks for the memories. |
