I have to say that "Seventh Direction" is my favorite CD in my collection...but then, it is the ONLY one of your's that I have so far... and THAT is gonna change! My three year old, Remington, loves it and sings along with most of the songs, as well. It is his favorite music, along with a tape of Arkansas folk that he plays everyday! I loved seeing you "live"...and "alive" at the Aldo Convention in August. It was like a revival of sorts, for my spirit. You helped make that happen...thanks. | Comments: | I am not a big fan of environmental music because I sometimes find the artists too preachy, without the music standing on its own merit. But having said that, I am one of Carter and Connelley’s biggest fans. Somehow, these guys manage to transcend this much-too-limiting category and create some of the most interesting, passionate acoustic music in the United States. They are particularly compelling live, where years of playing together build to beautiful intensity. I own all of their recordings and they are some of the most cherished in my collection. More remarkable, friends of mine who would drill for oil in ANWAR at the drop of hat and cut down every tree in the Shawnee National Forest of it made them a buck still love Carter and Connelley. If you’re not into environmental music don’t let that label stop you from enjoying their music. Check out Songs From the Seventh Direction and you’ll instantly know what I mean. |
