He settled in Annpolis Md. & meant a woman named Susan, they settled on Hoopers Island md. They had 7 children, Benjamin[my great grandfather] ,Andrew, John, Fredrich, Ruben, Betty, & Rutherford. Benjamin married Lucy----. They had 5 children,Amy, Virgie, Tommy,Benny, & Elisabeth. If anyone has any history it would be great to hear from you |

| Comments: | My husband's Creightons came from Northern Ireland--John Creighton was born in 1815 and died in Kalkaska County Michigan ca 1895. His wife, Ellen (Eleanor) Sommerville was also from Northern Ireland b. 1815. They emigrated to Pontiac, Quebec Canada where all of their children were born. They are found in the 1851 Canada census there. They moved to Kalkaska Michigan with some of their children. They are connected there to the families of Sinkler, Scanlon, Dale and eventually to Hockstad. We continually seek the parentage of our ancestors. |

| Comments: | Hey, Joe Creighton from Southampton, Southern England - can trace my family back to John Creighton, born in 1851 in Dumfries, Scotland. He moved to Hull, Yorkshire - married Mary Lundy, had 6 children - catherine, margaret, elizabeth, ellen, alice and james creighton, james (1901). James married Constance Agnis Pierce (1904). They had several kids, one of which was Peter Creighton who had David Creighton (1959) who had me, now in Southampton.

| Comments: | I am looking for information on the Creightons from Hoopers Island, Dorchester County, Maryland. My grandmother was Virginia Creighton (1900 - 1995). Her parents were Lucy Creighton (1878 - 1961) and Benjamin Creighton (1877-1935). Lucy's parents were Mary Henrietta Parker (1857-1937) and Robert Franklin Creighton (1849-1918). Benjamin Creighton's parents were Samuel Matthew Creighton (1850-1921) and Susan Caroline Aaron (1855-1910). Robert Franklin's parents were Robert W. Creighton (1812-1891) and Julia Meekins (1817-?). I have more information, but the short story is that I cannot find any information about the Creightons in Dorchester County Maryland prior to 1800. Although six Creightons are listed in the 1800 census, zero Creightons are listed in the 1790 census. If anyone has any information on the Creightons that lived in Dorchester County, please contact me. |

in London. It is directly across the aisle from a marble of John Donne. Google him and you will get a more accurate list of dates and his many accomplishments. I sent a picture of his statue and background info to the library at Creighton U.Omaha, Neb. and received info on the founders of the University. I believe she had at least one sibling, named Eunice (I only know it begins with an E, can't read te rest of the writing). Charles Creighton and Joanna Kenny had a marriage bond issued in January of 1835. His residence was listed as Sheet Harbor. My name is John Gilbert and I am interested in any Creighton discussion especially about the decendants of Charles Creighton [bc1786 Donegal, d 9.5.1875 Uldale, m 4.4.1812 Gosforth Cumberland to Sarah Sadley[Sadlay/Ladlay/Laidlaw]. Two of his sons John and Timothy came to Australia and their projeny moved to Whittlesea and Gobur in Victoria and now are all over the place. I take issue with Ashley Creighton who said that Creightons Creek in Northeast Victoia is named after our lot of Creightons. Creighton and Creightons Creek were names after William Ambrose Creighton who travelled thru the area with the explorers Hume and Hovell. He came back to the area and took a leasehold on the land in the area for several years in the mid 1800's. Creighton, one of a family of six (5 boys and a girl - born between 1895 and 1910, all deceased now). His father was Frank Creighton who married Mary Powers. I have an old picture of my great grandfather Creighton, but no first name. My father said he was a Catholic Scot/Irish, but I haven't gotten far enough to confirm when they came to USA or where in Ireland they came from. My maternal grandmother was from Scotland, maiden name Craig. Her mother was a Campbell. I guess I have a pretty wide choice of appropriate Tartans! |

It seems most of the Creighton's in my family were associated with the sea.(Sea captains, fishermen, etc.) I am an artist, singer, songwriter living in norfolk, Virginia. As an artist I do seascapes, but mainly am an expressionist, abstract artist. My music is folksy, bluesy, jazzy stuff. I am influenced by relatives on my mothers side who live in southern germany.
