Comments:I also had gastric bypass...at my highest weight I was 350. I got down to 190 and then it just started creeping back on. I am up to 267 right now. I have gotten up as high as 178 but lost a couple pounds. It is so frustrating. I decided to start walking an hour a day and have done three days but am sick from being outside sucking in the cold air. I just feel pretty down about gaining so much back. It is easy for me to use food as a coping mechanism. I wish you alot of luck in your journey and please know your not alone in the battle. Heidi

Comments:I have PCOS too. I have had it since I hit puberty in my early teens. I too had insurance problems and one misdiagnoses. I was finally diagnosed with full blow PCOS last month and put on medication. I would go months with out a period and then bleed for like 4 months. Its a horrible way to live. I am on glucophage as well and it makes me sick too. My insurance now is horrible and I still gain weight all the time. I gained on average 5 pounds a month for years. I am now 270 and getting heavier. I would love to talk with you some time. Email me if you have the chance, I am 20. You look great!!

Comments:You're very pretty! You look a lot like 'Miss Parker' from "The Pretender" TV series. You might want to watch that show, if you're ever lacking in inspiration. She goes from very thin at the beginning of the series, to kinda chunky by the third season, then back to thin again.

Comments:I just stumbled across your site but I am very glad I did. I have been feeling a bit weary from my PCOS and have prediabetes and hashimotos as well as high blood pressure. My legs swell and I have been having trouble with my knees after an injury to one in the winter. I have seen the famous people and a lady I know lose weight after the surgery but I was told my insurance won't cover it. I need to talk my doctor into writing me one of those compelling letters for candidacy for the procedure. I am 39,5'3" and I weight 280 lbs. I have an 8 year old daughter and before I became pregnant with her I weighed 180lbs. Over the years I have gained and leveled off, gained and leveled off but never lost any just maintained. I was not diagnosed for almost 5 years after begging the doctor to find what was wrong with me. He came up with various excuses but no real diagnosis until I suggested that it was maybe my thyroid! He then did a blood test and I ask him if he would send me to a Endo-doctor. HE finally diagnosed the PCOS but I am not able to take glucophage as it makes me ill. I go back to the Endo for a check up and I am going to request his help in getting the surgery for me. I am really depressed over my body not working for me. I am happy to know there are others out there. If one more person gives me one of those side glane looks that you get from others I may explode. It is good to know someone understands. Someone wrote they were glad to know they weren't turning into a heavy hairy man, I to had begun to wonder since my doctor was not aware of this disease. This naming of PCOS was only done so back a little over a decade but some doctors still have never heard of it or except that it exists. Hang in there everybody and good luck on your individual quests for survival!!

Comments:Hi Crystal.
So glad I stumbled upon your site. I have PCOS and have been desperately battling with my weight for 10 years now. I have been doing some aggressive research on the LapBand as a "last resort" and it seems pretty good. I do have health insurance, but unfortunately it does not cover even a portion of the surgery...so I have to make sure that if I make the investment, it HAS to be the answer.
Anyway, you look great! I have one question that I haven't been able to find anywhere that maybe you can help me with. If I pay all that money to get the surgery and lose all the weight, would the weight come back on once the LapBand is removed seeing that PCOS is uncontrollable weight gain? This scares me to death!
Well, if you'd like, feel free to e-mail me any time.
Congrads! Lori

Is all I can say! You look fabulous! I am a 28 yr old mom of 2 beautiful little boys. And yes I consider them my little miricles. I got diagnosed with PCOS when I was about 26 after my 2nd child, though I am sure I have had this since I was in my early teens because I never had a regular period. I always felt uncomfortable talking to anybody about it, so I just considered it a blessing to go for months without getting it. It wasnt until I went to see my doc after going 5 months without having my period (I usually at most skipped 3 months) I never even considered that I would be pregnant because I had been with my boyfiend for 4 years and after 9 months of being together did not use any protection and never got pregnant. I fell into such a deep depression because I honestly though that I couldnt have children! But to my surprise I was pregnant...24 weeks at that point! At age 20 I was you could say "thick" but really I only weighted 140lbs..of course I thought I was a fat...now I would die to be at that wieght again! Well I went up to about 175lbs at the end of my pregnancy, and after I deliverd had a pretty "normal" period every month (though I never knew when the hell I was going to get it, I at least expected it every month)....Still not knowing I had PCOS I started gradually gaining more weight, and started plucking more than just a few hairs off my chin and other places I hate to mention...ok so now I cant loose this wieght, It takes me years to concieve, Im growing a beard, I have even worse acne on my back than I did as a teen..and soon after my period started going waco again....So what the hell is wrong with me! So I did my own research and diagnosed my self...thanks to websites like yours. So I went to the doctor, and the result were in. I was right. I now could put a name to it other than thinking I was turning into an overwieght man. So my doc suggested to put me on the pill and that will help regulate my period and help decrese some of the hair growth on my face. But I didnt want to. I mean I wanted to have more children...so I dont want to be put on a birth control pill!!! Well I guess I had a really louzy doctor because she didnt presribe anything to me because I guess she was content that I was at least getting my period every other month, so she wasnt to concered. So another 5 years goes by, and now I am heavier and shaving everyday like my boyfiend!...and to my surprise again, at a routine check up ..I found out I was pregnant with my 2nd. At least this time I was only 2 1/2 months and not 5. So to all those suffering from infertility caused by PCOS, do not give up hope. So it took 4 years to have #1 and 5 to have #2. Now I still struggle with my wieght and I too have been considering WLS. But I am too afraid to risk it because of the fear of leaving my little boys behind. But I cant help but cry every day after looking in the mirror, or trying on clothes...Isnt it worth the risk if It means living a more happy and healthy life?

(2 be continued.....)

Comments:Dear Crystal,
I am overjoyed that I found your website. I am 19 yrs old, and have PCOS. I was diagnosed at 15. It's been decided (by me) that it's probably one of the worst things a woman can suffer from, as there is no cure! Like many PCOS patients, I have been overweight as long as I can remember, and have tried all sorts of diets and programs, losing only minimal amounts of weight. Of late, I have considered getting liposuction done to get rid of the excess fat, and your site has shown me that there are lots of PCOS women out there who have done (and are doing) the same surgeries that I have considered. Thank you so much! I look forward to your newer pics.
Yours,
Emma

Comments:You are beautiful!!! I too have PCOS and have struggled with my weight my whole life. I have 2 amazing children, and my doctor is still trying to figure out HOW I got pregnant twice. I suffer from PCOS even when at a "healhty weight" but right now at 210, I am suffering much more severely. I do not test positive for insulin resistant and glucophage has done nothing for me. I'd like to consider gastric bypass, but my husband is terrifed of even discussing it. Good luck with further weight loss and any journey toward getting pregnant. The only thing I can say in that regard is you will appreciate your babies even more when you have to go through so much to have them!
