Most of my letters are typed, just to let you know, since I know that bothers some people. I’m not interested in quantity of pals, it’s definitely the quality that counts, and for that, I feel you need to have a few things in common. It seems like you can always tell after the first few letters if you are going to click with the other person. I try to make my letters chatty, like we were sitting down and chatting with each other over tea, and that’s the kind I hope to receive in return. OK, get ready for the negative part. I think for a letter to be interesting, you need to comment on what the other person has said and also ask questions, so that’s a must for me. It’s so annoying when the other person doesn’t say anything about what you have spent a great deal of time writing. When I answer a letter, I always have it right there beside me so I can remember everything that has been said. One-sided letters are pretty boring. I’m only interested in writing with ladies, and somewhere in the general age range of 30-50. If you are so swamped with other letters to answer that you can’t reply more than a few times a year, I don’t think I’m the one for you. I try to be fairly prompt with my letters, and yes, I do realize that life gets in the way, and it does for me as well. But if it’s always several months in between letters, I find it too difficult to really get to know the person and stay caught up with their life if a long time always passes between letters. I’m sorry for sounding so picky and negative, but I guess I really AM picky. I put a lot into my friendships and can only dedicate myself to someone who I feel close to. I don’t want to waste your time, either, and I feel really guilty when things don’t work out, so I like to get all of this out from the very beginning. Well, I guess that’s it. I'm looking for only a couple of new penpals that value quality over quantity in letter writing. Ideally, you should be a woman between 40-50 years of age, preferably married and a mom to at least one child, and living in Western Europe or New Zealand. It would be nice if you share some of my interests such as travelling, walking, exercising, reading, appreciating humour, watching a good movie, learning about other life styles and different cultures, being open-minded and versatile, enjoying the nature, loving animals and trying to be nice and kind to the people and the world around you. You must love writing LONG letters BY HAND and have a neat readable handwriting. I know it's easier to type, but it's also tempting to "copy & paste". I've had too much of that in the past, and I'd not like to be mixed with the crowd again. Even if you claim that your typed letters are personal or if you have medical reasons for not writing by hand, you should simply omit my ad. There are plenty of other pals who like typing their letters. It is harder to find those who handwrite nicely, and that is why I'm stressing this point here. It's quite important to me. I have a guilty pleasure of watching Judge Judy as well. Also like to watch stuff like Nancy Grace or Larry King if the topic is interesting enough. I also watch documentaries - whatever I am in the mood to watch. I would LOVE to love to cook and bake but am not there yet...but love watching food television and scoping out easy recipes. I also love: yard sales, dollar stores, swimming, summer, Happy Bunny, dogs (I have 2 and they are the love of my life), rabbits, cats, scented candles, letters, coffees, ice cream, laughter, celebrity gossip, ebay, fitness, magazines, random trivia, comedy, Angelina Jolie, board games, pro figure skating, wls and more. Now, I accept myself for whom I am and realize how beautiful I am. I enjoy watching a sunrise and sunset. Seeing the rain gently fall to the earth. Watching the colors of leaves change. Laughing at myself (even in the worst of times). Sun soaking and wind grazing the skin. I don't take life seriously as I once did (a great sense of humor goes a long way). Lighthouses are beautiful. I wish there were still more of them. I've always been fascinated by the lighthouse at Alexandra, Egypt- one of the ancient wonders of the world. SO see I'm a history buff- especially ancient/classical history and the fact that a lot of what we see as history is inaccurate or we don't have the whole story. I love the Fall. Spring is lovely with all flowers popping out, summer is good with picnic and swimming, winter is yuck unless it's Christmas. But fall is a different kind of new start and the crispness is alluring for me and actually more refreshing than spring to my heart. Yep, I'm getting a little pithy there! I like Halloween for the pumpkin patches and the fun the kids have dressing up and scaring people. They get so excited by it that it's exciting for me too. I enjoy so much more from movies to kitties and doggies, from walking to eating, from here to there. I decided to put up my own ad here because well , in general ..I wrote to a few email addresses from various penpal sites and either received a mailer daemon (meaning their email addresses were no longer working) or just haven't heard much.. so to save some effort , I figured I'll just put up my own ad ..to make things easier. I did pen-pal writing when I was younger with a select few people .. some ended up being lifelong friends.. or some were already friends whom I wanted to stay in contact with after having moved away..Many years have gone by since I've had the interest to do this again.. but I find myself missing that correspondence from places I'm familiar with or even not familiar with..I really enjoy learning about other cultures to which I have not been exposed but at the same time I enjoy remembering good memories of places I have been to also.. I'm married and a teacher - while I enjoy working with children, I'm glad that, when I get home, I have none of my own and can have my selfish time. The only "children" I have are my pets - I have 2 dogs, a cat and a rabbit, and they are about all I can handle at the present time (along with my hubby of course! LOL!). In the meantime, I surround myself with books and magazines to quench my desire for reading, and with my computer which keeps me busy on many community boards and browsing websites. I also journal online as well. I'm a bit of a techie but still need help from my husband once in a while. We've been married for about 6 years and while I am very much happy, I don't chat about my husband non stop so if you are single, don't worry about all the boring marriage talk! I am very much into fitness, losing weight and the desire to work my body to its fullest. I consume health magazines along with my nasty tabloid habit. I work out every day but am really hoping to delve into running in the future although I am not quite there yet! Until then it is mostly walking and swimming. I enjoy giving my treadmill a good workout. I had gastric bypass surgery in July of 2006. I love unwinding at the end of the day by plopping myself in front of the television. There is nothing better to me than totally vegging out. Some shows that pique my interest: House (love the grumpy doc), Survivor, Hell's Kitchen/Kitchen Nightmares, the Apprentice (will it come back?), tv shows on HGTV and the food channel, Big Medicine, the Real Deal and other TLC shows, Dateline, and much much more! I have a guilty pleasure of watching Judge Judy as well. Also like to watch stuff like Nancy Grace or Larry King if the topic is interesting enough. I also watch documentaries - whatever I am in the mood to watch. I would LOVE to love to cook and bake but am not there yet...but love watching food television and scoping out easy recipes. I also love: yard sales, dollar stores, swimming, summer, Happy Bunny, dogs (I have 2 and they are the love of my life), rabbits, cats, scented candles, letters, coffees, ice cream, laughter, celebrity gossip, ebay, fitness, magazines, random trivia, comedy, Angelina Jolie, board games, pro figure skating, wls and more. I'm an introvert who is working on becoming more outgoing although I'm funny as heck when you get to know me :) |

I'm a married, professional woman pleased with my lifestyle and really not feeling the necessity to have children. I like my life and being selfish with my own time. Don't get me wrong - I enjoy being with children (that's part of my job), and love their innocence, but prefer not to have one around one hundred percent of the time right now. LOL! I can handle pets - yes, dogs and cats and bunnies require much less care! LOL! Until then, I'll enjoy their company in my line of work, but will continue to relish all the "me" time that I get for the rest of the day. In the meantime, I surround myself with books and magazines to quench my desire for reading, and with my computer which keeps me busy on many community boards and browsing websites. I also journal online as well. I'm a bit of a techie but still need help from my husband once in a while. We've been married for about 6 years and while I am very much happy, I don't chat about my husband non stop so if you are single, don't worry about all the boring marriage talk! I am very much into fitness, losing weight and the desire to work my body to its fullest. I consume health magazines along with my nasty tabloid habit. I work out every day but am really hoping to delve into running in the future although I am not quite there yet! Until then it is mostly walking and swimming. I enjoy giving my treadmill a good workout. I love unwinding at the end of the day by plopping myself in front of the television. There is nothing better to me than totally vegging out. Some shows that pique my interest: House (love the grumpy doc), Survivor, Hell's Kitchen, the Apprentice, tv shows on HGTV and the food channel, Big Medicine, the Real Deal and other TLC shows, Dateline, and much much more! I have a guilty pleasure of watching Judge Judy as well. Also like to watch stuff like Nancy Grace or Larry King if the topic is interesting enough. I would LOVE to love to cook and bake but am not there yet...but love watching food television and scoping out easy recipes. I also love: yard sales, dollar stores, swimming, summer, Happy Bunny, dogs (I have 2 and they are the love of my life), rabbits, cats, scented candles, letters, coffees, ice cream, laughter, celebrity gossip, ebay, fitness, magazines, random trivia, comedy, Angelina Jolie, board games, pro figure skating, wls and more. I'm an introvert who is working on becoming more outgoing although I'm funny as heck when you get to know me :) |
