| About Me:: | I came across some old letters recently (I used to pen pal quite a bit in high school) and realized how much I miss writing and receiving letters. I thought I'd place an ad and see if anyone is interested in becoming my pen pal.
I'm 37 years old, married with a 4 year old and have a full time job. It would be nice to hear from other mothers who have preschoolers as most of my friends with kids had children much earlier than I did - they no longer want to talk about what you should do if your kid decides she's a dinosaur and draws scales all over her body with a sharpie (for the record, I went with it and even got a little scaly myself). That being said, I do have a life outside of my child and will respond to almost any woman who feels like writing to me. I try to keep up with current events and am reasonably intelligent. I love music, reading, learning about different cultures and ways of life, horror movies, cooking and I'll admit I have a weakness for Project Runway, Deadliest Warrior, all those boring History Channel and PBS specials everyone makes fun of and cooking and design reality TV. I'm also taking tarot and astrology classes which I find very interesting. I'm shy and kind of a home body, but I do like getting together with friends when we can manage it. I can't promise that I'll write 20 page letters, but they'll be long and chatty and I tend to write about a lot of every day details (I know that bothers some people so FYI) and I'll respond within the month. |

It really doesn’t matter where you live, but there are a few places that I would really love to hear from. My husband is from New England, and we love it there, so would especially be happy to hear from any Yankees. Most of my letters are typed, just to let you know, since I know that bothers some people. I’m not interested in quantity of pals, it’s definitely the quality that counts, and for that, I feel you need to have a few things in common. It seems like you can always tell after the first few letters if you are going to click with the other person. I try to make my letters chatty, like we were sitting down and chatting with each other over tea, and that’s the kind I hope to receive in return. OK, get ready for the negative part. I think for a letter to be interesting, you need to comment on what the other person has said and also ask questions, so that’s a must for me. It’s so annoying when the other person doesn’t say anything about what you have spent a great deal of time writing. It’s almost like your letter was read once when they got it, and then tossed in the trash, and when it comes time to answer, there’s no mention of anything that was important enough for you to write to begin with. When I answer a letter, I always have it right there beside me so I can remember everything that has been said. One-sided letters are pretty boring. I’m only interested in writing with ladies, and somewhere in the general age range of 30-50. If you are so swamped with other letters to answer that you can’t reply more than a few times a year, I don’t think I’m the one for you. I try to be fairly prompt with my letters, and yes, I do realize that life gets in the way, and it does for me as well. But if it’s always several months in between letters, I find it too difficult to really get to know the person and stay caught up with their life if a long time always passes between letters. I’m sorry for sounding so picky and negative, but I guess I really AM picky. I put a lot into my friendships and can only dedicate myself to someone who I feel close to. I don’t want to waste your time, either, and I feel really guilty when things don’t work out, so I like to get all of this out from the very beginning. Well, I guess that’s it. My husband is from New England, and we love it there, so would especially be happy to hear from any Yankees. I’m really interested in Norway, since that’s where my father was born, and I am fascinated with Ireland, England and Scotland. Most of my letters are typed, just to let you know, since I know that bothers some people. I’m not interested in quantity of pals, it’s definitely the quality that counts, and for that, I feel you need to have a few things in common. It seems like you can always tell after the first few letters if you are going to click with the other person. I try to make my letters chatty, like we were sitting down and chatting with each other over tea, and that’s the kind I hope to receive in return. OK, get ready for the negative part. I think for a letter to be interesting, you need to comment on what the other person has said and also ask questions, so that’s a must for me. It’s so annoying when the other person doesn’t say anything about what you have spent a great deal of time writing. It’s almost like your letter was read once when they got it, and then tossed in the trash, and when it comes time to answer, there’s no mention of anything that was important enough for you to write to begin with. When I answer a letter, I always have it right there beside me so I can remember everything that has been said. One-sided letters are pretty boring. I’m only interested in writing with ladies, and somewhere in the general age range of 30-50. If you are so swamped with other letters to answer that you can’t reply more than a few times a year, I don’t think I’m the one for you. I try to be fairly prompt with my letters, and yes, I do realize that life gets in the way, and it does for me as well. But if it’s always several months in between letters, I find it too difficult to really get to know the person and stay caught up with their life if a long time always passes between letters. I’m sorry for sounding so picky and negative, but I guess I really AM picky. I put a lot into my friendships and can only dedicate myself to someone who I feel close to. I don’t want to waste your time, either, and I feel really guilty when things don’t work out, so I like to get all of this out from the very beginning. Well, I guess that’s it. | About Me:: | I was born on Halloween, 1959 in a tiny town in New Hampshire. I'm still a small town person at heart! I am an artist working in fiber, watercolor, and assemblage.
