| About Me: | My name is Alex, living in Linz, Austria. My birthday is Dec 14 1988, making me a Sagittarius, for those who believe in Astrology. At the moment I enjoy – as Italians would say – “dolce far niente”, as school starts in September and my only work is to get up in the morning, say hello to a very rude neighbour in a very polite way and read books of which I know I wouldn’t read if I had less time. The only problem is that I’m not feeling very fulfilled with the boring life I live. This might be the reason I work doing opinion surveys for a laughable pay a few times a week, mostly concerning political themes. It’s more a kind of therapy than a vacation job. Doing these surveys – and people often enough refusing to be interviewed in a quite rude and unsophisticated way – well, it somehow strengthens my self-consciousness. I’m a little shy when it comes to meet new people, don’t know why, actually. Nevertheless, and it may sound a bit strange, I’m always interested in meeting new people. Well, I wouldn’t write this ad otherwise, would I?
But let me tell you some more things about me: one of my favourite hobbies, nonsense, it actually is my passion, is music. I’m listening to a huge variety of music. Some of my favourite bands/artists include The Beatles, The Smiths (I’m a great admirer of Morrissey), Blur, Tocotronic… Sometimes I leave the sacred halls of Rock’n’Roll and enjoy listening to classic stuff, too. And I’m acting as a mediocre guitarist and lead singer in a band consisting of old friends of mine, rehearsing twice a week at the local church house, which might be a quite unusual place for a band to have their “headquarters”. My favourite writers (well some of them, at least) are: Oscar Wilde, Franz Kafka, Arthur Schnitzler and Ernest Hemingway. People often talk about me of having a large general knowledge, particularly concerning literature, music, history and politics. My theory is that I accumulate all this knowledge to hide the fact that I’m an absolute idiot when it comes to Mathematics or Technology. While I never have been interested in Maths, the latter somehow grieves me, because I’d like to build my own guitar – but at the same time I know I’m just too untalented with that sort of things. Some other things I like to do: hanging around with friends, doing genealogy (quite interesting), cooking, hiking, swimming, cycling, drinking (but I’m a moderate drinker), smoking (I wish I could say I’m a moderate smoker, too, but too obviously I’m not), writing texts and song lyrics of outstanding quality (did I mention I’m a very humble person?) and going abroad. My name is Gosia and - what is of coure really suprising :P - I am looking for new friends. Here's information about me: Country, region, city: Poland, Silesia, Sosnowiec (quite big, which have both adventages: you have much to do here, and disadventages: no contact with nature) School, class: This year I'm finishing secondary school. Family: I'm the only child. Sports: Badminton, canoeing, skiing, ice-skateing. And, the most important, hiking. I love mountains. (But, actually, I can't stand PI classes at my school. If I had enough time, I would read much more. The saddest thing is, that we will not have enough time to read everything which is worth it. TV: I watch only "Lost". Hm, I sometimes record some films which are on TV late at night :P Films: I like going to the cinema with friends, but huge, commercial cinemas aren't what I really like. I love small, old ones with a good repertoire. What films? Hm, I lately watch old Czech films set by Milos Forman. I love Iranian films and old Polish ones (Kieslowski, Zanussi and Wajda). I have just watch BBS series "Pride and Prejustice" with Colin Firth, It was really good, better than this new film with the same title. Cinema is really my hobby, I would like to study something connected with it and after my studies shoot my own film. Music: classical, jazz, rock, sometimes folk, pop and electronic. Other interests: going out with friends, geography, history, travelling, maybe languages (I know also French, but much worse than English), writing (diary, letters, stories), the Balkans, drawing, coffee (I'm addicted to it) and postindustrial architecture which many people find ugly. Also public transport, I like listening to these weird conversations. Plans for the future: Travelling and many, many books in my house or flat. Own family and big group of good friends. What am I going to do when I grow up? Hm, I don't know now yet. Maybe I will study economy or literature or philosophy. |
