Message:Curtis got ahold of me and let me know about this great web page. Really neat to see it and the pictures. I am semi-retired (not sure what that means) from the government and enjoying Florida sunshine. Great to see the pictures of the people I remember at my old age. looking forward to making contacts again and attending the next festive gathering. As always YIS RULES!

Message:What a terrific website! Thank you Curtis Bond again & again & again.
So much life has happened that I don't know where to begin. I left Yokohama went to Florida Southern College, dropped out, moved to Connecticut and experienced prolonged culture shock but got over it. Studied clowing and mime and was a starving artist for about 18 months. Became a computer typesetter; went to SUNY Purchase, sang with jazz ensemble and got BA in medieval literature; worked for Jim Henson and the Muppets in public relations; quit; produced animated commercials for three years in NYC and Montreal; quit; returned to get dual masters in Special Education at Bank Street College of Education and in Social Work from Columbia University; taught in East Harlem, counseled teens in Jamaica (Queens), was learning specialist in the Bronx and then back in Manhattan. Total sum of fourteen years of life in NYC; seven years living with my David and seven of them married to him and then.... we had our first son, Caleb Django (8) and moved to the suburbs (Tarrytown, NY). Four years later at age 43, I had our second son, Oliver Cameron. David is a film curator at the Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria, NY and I am a full-time Mom/private tutor/cubscout leader/political-activist-in-the-afternoons-&-evenings.

We're all coming to Seattle next week and we are extremely excited about it! I went to Baltimore and San Francisco for the reunions solo; this time the family is with me and I know it will be a blast! We can hardly wait to see everyone!

It's all good.

Blessed be,

TORI

It would be interesting to communicate with anyone from those halcyon days...Baltimore was fun, maybe see some of you in Seattle.

Message:Greetings, fellow middle-agers,
My wife, Jenny, I and our kids: Holly (15), Steve (14), Jim (13), and Amber (12) are about to set out travelling the world for a year. We'll bike across Europe, starting in June '05. We'll trek in Sikkim, go to Angkor Wat, stuff like that. Our website will be www.daysabroad.com , but it isn't up yet. My brothers Robert and Tom are doing well, both with 2 daughters each. My sister Victoria (Lauren) is also well, but childlessly married and living in L.A. (double too-bad). Hope you are doing well.
Don't trust the (any) government.

Message:Hello everyone. I was happy to find this site and leave a message. Right now I am in the process of trying to plan a trip to the Bernards Retirement Party in June. Although it has been almost almost 30 yera ago since I left Japan, it really seems like only yesterday because I have such fond and wonderful memories of my time at YIS.

I am living presently in Nemarket, Ontario. I am married to Ed (a Civil Engineer) and we have two daughers - Kayla (16 1/2) and Jenny (15 1/2). Both girls are a great joy. The oldest leans towards writing, theatre and singing...she recently was narrowed down to 100 from 5505 hopefuls in the Toronto stop of Canadian Idol. Kayla hopes to go on to University to take writing. Jenny enjoys shopping! She tends to be more athletic - cross country and downhill skiing being her strengths.

Both brothers Paul and Scott, live and work in Houston. Paul has a lovely family with 2 adorable children, and Scott is the eligible bachelor. Paul owns a successful businessm and Scott is successful in his line of work - both are Mechanical Engineers, graduating from Texas A & M.
As for me, I work with the elderly primarily, and do some private investigation on the side. But first, and foremost, I am a mom....driving here and there.

I would love to hear from those who remember me! I am in contact with a number of you already...and it is so nice to continue this friendship, albiet via internet most of the time.

If anyone is in the Toronto area, call.....!!! Newmarket is a hop, skip and a jump from Toronto! My number is
(905) 953-1986......address 905 Norsan Court, Newmarket, Ontario L3X 1L1 Canada.

Until then, Take Care, Love Kathy
