It must have been around six years since i've dropped a msg. I can't believe that so many people have joined. Its really nice to hear from everyone, and it looks like everyone is doing great (including myself). I'm still a hairdresser here in springfield virginia, still running jon david salon with my uncle, and its running stronger than ever. Although working with women can drive you crazy, i manage to stay focused and still love the artistic side of it.

If anyone is in the washington dc metropolitan area give me a buzz,

Lets hear from eachother!!!

I'm currently living in Texas and I'm finishing up school to be a Clinical Psychologist working with children. I'm not married, as I see some of you are, but I am in a wonderful relationship. My parents moved back to Japan, Tokyo actually, so I visit there every few months. Two years ago Julia Timmis stayed with me for a week while she traveled the states. There's so much to say and such little room. I just wanted to say hello to you all.

Message:Hello Everyone!

How are you all? It's good to see that there are some new entries since last time I visited!

Well I'm back Down Under after a year at home in Scotland with the folks. It was really good to see everyone again and especially for John to see where I come from and to meet the whole family. We stayed at my parent's house for a year - what a star that man is!

I'm now in Australia permanently, finally got my spouse visa so there are no more worries about me getting thrown into a detention centre (heh heh!).

Although I still have the travel bug so we are planning a big trip in a couple of years - hopefully 18 months around the world! Lots of saving and planning to be done!

Life is very sweet at the moment and I am enjoying every second of it!

Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying themselves at every opportunity!

If any of you are ever down this way let me know!!!

Message:Hi All!

I just wanted to say hi to everyone, and to thank all of you who came to our wedding (YauP, Yasu, Harumi, Sayaka, Raphy, and Mr. and Mrs. Hunter!) and to those who have sent us cards and emails. David and I feel so blessed.

To update some of you that don't know yet - I got married on June 26, 2004 to David, the love of my life - also a missile defense engineer at MIT Lincoln Labs - in Lexington, MA. The reception was held at the observatory in the Prudential Center, on the 50th floor. It was a wonderful day! I had a lot of fun with my YIS friends that could attend, and it really was a mini reunion. I am now Mrs. Wakaba Tessier, for those of you who are curious, and I will post photo information as soon as we find out.

David and I have not quite planned our future yet, but we plan on living in the Boston area for at least another year. I am still working as a pharmaceutical consultant, but I plan on applying to law school this fall(I hope I can get into some decent schools). So if you are ever in the Boston area, come visit us!

Goodluck to all of you, and I hope we can all get together soon!

Lots of love,

Wakaba

How is everyone? I'm really great. At the moment I'm back in Scotland staying at my parents house with John as I couldn't get the visa I needed to stay in Oz last year. We packed up and came over here in September and I've now applied for my Australian spouse visa which hopefully should be granted - no worries!

We're planning to stay here until October and then work the winter season in Austria before going back to Australia (via S.E. Asia) for ever. It's been good to come home and see all my family and friends but I’m looking forward to traveling again!

I hope everyone is safe and well!

i graduated as a multimedia-designer last summer, after an amazing 10 week internship at an ad-agency, in new york - maybe my favorite city ever!
and now, considering the fact that i dont want to be a "plain ol' web designer", i've continued to study, now at copenhagen business school studying Bachelor in Business administration and organizational communication - wow, quite a mouthful - a lot shorter name in danish... and im absolutely loving it!! but then again, does it suprise any of you who know me, if i say that i love studying communications???!!
this august i will be interning at an ad-agency in tokyo - nextinc.com. if any one is in town during thatmonth, it would be really good to meet up.
besides that, i'll be visiting berlin for a couple of days in easter - lucking very much forward to that!
besides all this travelling and hectic studying, i'm still living it up as a single chick! with copenhagen as the perfect backdrop for doing it in style.

I wrote in here about a year ago....I think we're all guilty for our lacking sense of keeping in touch. I've been working with the American Embassy Tokyo since June. I work with a team from the Department of Homeland Security. It's definately quite an experience. 9 months of unemployment was a difficult period but a very very precious period at the same time. So if any of you are looking for a job and things don't look promising, don't worry! Keep looking for the greatest.

Hum...let me see if I have anything new to tell you..I visited YIS about 4 months ago. That school is looking great! We're expanding dramatically. At least the size of school ground is. We have an independent building for theatre, and we've recently bought a land opposite the gym for an indoor swimming pool! I talked to Mr. Jackson, Mr. Williams, and Mr. Kosaka(the PE teacher who came just before we left) They all looked magnificent. All their kids have grown. I talked to Joanna the other day, she've also visited the school recently and she told me Mr. Stanworth was doing well. Remember he fell ill? Well he's ok and happy now.

Write soon!
hugs, harumi

How is everyone? I am doing great, I'm still Down Under in sunny Sydney. In fact I have decided to stay here for the next couple years, Sydney or Scotland ... what a tough choice!

At the moment I am a consultant for a recruitment company in the city centre which is great fun... I make money for talking to people (couldn't suit me better if I tried!). I'm living an hour south of the city at the beach with my lovely Australian boyfriend - still the same one that I met in Bali last year! I graduated Cornell University School of Hotel Administration last May, and have returned to Japan since then. Life's been changing since the last time I posted. I'm still in Houston - UGH, but I'm definately going somewhere. I have a great job at a title company, and will probably have my own office in a week or so (we're just waiting for IT to install a fax & printer). Well, honestly, that's about all that's changed. I'm still being a screw up, but at the least I'm enjoying life. I'd like to try and plan something for YIS '98 students that are in the US later this year. If I get positive feed back, then I'll think more on it. Anyway, it's good to see you guys are still ticking. Keep up the faith.

At the end of high school I never would have guessed that I'd stick around North Carolina after college, but I've come to really enjoy this area. So I plan on being here for at least a couple more years.
I work with a Christian organization called Campus Crusade for Christ. Right now I'm primarily in our regional office in Raleigh doing information systems management (i.e. I'm the database guy ...with a few other slightly more exciting tid bits thrown in for fun). I really enjoy what I'm doing so life is pretty good right now.

seeing so many people write in comments, made me want to do it too! jamie's right - i couldn't resist. i graduated wellesley college last june, and i am now working for a pharmaceutical consulting company called equinox group, about twenty minutes north of boston. the job itself is extremely challenging, looking at revenue forecasts of agents still in the r&d pipeline. although i spend all day in front of the computer, looking at excel sheet after sheet, it is very rewarding and i really enjoy it.

i currently live with my boyfriend, david, who is absolutely wonderful, and we are the proud parents of a black male labrador retriever named petey. he is our baby :) anyway, if anyone is ever in the boston area, please come and visit us! Yau hwa did, and i think she enjoyed her stay??

Message:Out of all people I guess I was the least expected to write in here by some, however I couldn't resist after seeing all the long lost names. It's as if reading my very own history book. After an year in Kent, England, at an art university, I came back to Japan and took a two year course in illustration at a design college. I'm currently a graphic designer spending 14 hours a day in front of a computer designing advertisements, pamphlets, catalogs, posters, etc.
However I'm going to be quitting at the end of this month due to the lack of my own time, low wages and no Christmas. Though I do enjoy the creative part of design, I still feel it's no match to free hand painting.

Seeing the dates of the messages in this dreambook, I guess it could be months until anyone realizes I've droped a note, but it'll be great to keep in touch with any of you.
Cheers, and Merry Christmas.

business letters and stuff. Anyway, enough about school
work...guess what...I'm socially active here (in the middle
of nowhere)! Right now I'm pledging for KDphi...the
national Asian sorority that Cornell joined only last
year. Its really new...so we're only the Beta class. But
its a lot of hard work...takin up much of my time! Hope I
can get a lot out of it though. Besides that, I've just
been to NYC with a couple friends for fall break. Did a
straight 4 days of shopping!!!!!! Hee hee hee... Anyway,
talk to ya later! Miss ya Lots.
Luv marina.

Message:It is so great to be in contact with YIS again. This School
gave me some of the best years of my life and it also gave
me the opportunity to find out who I am and what my
potentials and interests are. And for that I will be
eternally gratefull to YIS. I will like to take this
opportunity to thank the class of '98 for tolerating me and
making me feel at home even though I was miles away from
Nigeria. I wish YIS and its students success in their
endeavours and the best of luck to y'all. I think I might
have done this before, but oh well YIS deserves it the
second time. Peace and Luv from AggieLand

Message:Its hard to believe that we are all in college. I am
having a pretty good time here at Penn - the only problem
is I don't understand my classes. People here are real fun
but way too intellectual. Anyway I am hoping to hear from
all of you guys out there. I miss you all so keep in
contact.
