Comments:Cost you a fortune in tapes if you did. I remember the echoplexes took special tape cassettes which didn't last very long and cost a fortune.

I've put your link on the 'band' page now by the way.

Comments:Dale and the semi-retired Clair - thanks very much for helping out with the lunchtime gig for Comic Relief today. Despite the fact that Security had to lock hundreds of fans out due to our popularity, it all went very well - with some interesting moments too! Once gain, thanks for giving up your time onc more for charity - we managed to raise over £400 in all.

I will be absolutely devestated if I don't get my regular dose of Graham (that's "of" not "off"!!!) at 100% of HNMM! gigs in future.

Please say it's not true!

There were 80 people in attendance, so you had a good crowd. My friend,Nicky's dad, Mike syas that your rendition of Echo Beach was the best he had heard!

What a brill band! Lots & lots of love to you all.xxxxx

Comments:Well here I am in Sydney and it's raining!! Doing the Bridge Climb tomorrow morning, that'll only leave Claire, Graham & Simon who's dipped out!!

The hotel is in central Sydney, near all of the sights and also near all of the "Electric 6" venues - apparently the pink didgeridoo is a very popular instrument round here!!

Hope you're all rehearsed for Alconbury - we can do as many songs as we like as we're the whole evening's entertainment. I was shocked and stunned when Andy told me you had dropped Teenage dirtbox, it's an absolute crowd favourite.

Providing I survive tomorrow I'll see you all on Monday night.

Have a g'day.

Anyhow, I'll have to go now as my fingers keep slipping off the keys due to the amount of sun cream I am having to put on!!!

Comments:I'm not sure that we're quite up to 500 people venues, we usually only do private parties or charity events, and as we're not that well known in Holland it's quite possible that we might not fill the place!! However, who knows what the future will bring, after all, I've been wild in the past, lost control and gone into the fire although I don't agree that with this big thing coming up in April that we won't get further than the Norfolk coast!!

And a quick note to Simon, our drummer, a "Dutch Moon" is not somebody from Amsterdam pulling their trousers down and showing their bottom!! I know how his mind works!

Oh , and Maaike, sanfte kuss! xxx

Comments:Thanks Maaike. We'll have to try and squeeze Delft in between such well known "rock capitals" as Alconbury, Wyton and Mansfield (although "B Movie" came from Mansfield and they were really good)!

Wouldn't it be good if we could play under a real Dutch Moon!

Comments:A big HELLOOO to anyone visiting the site via The Rat's Lair. Whilst we may "only" be a cover's band (we're all past the age when we have delusions of being pop stars!)we do covers of "Walk on By", "All Day & All Of The Night" and "Mony, Mony" played with at least a nod to The Stranglers (and when I get away with it, the full guitar solo from "Walk on By"!!).

The big thing about being a cover's band nowadays is that all of the stuff that many of us were "raised" on is now either "fashionable" (horrible word) or the subject of misty-eyed nostalgia so we can play it at almost any occasion. Little did I know when I bought the Clash's "Cost Of Living" EP in 1979 or The Buzzcocks "Ever Fallen In Love" in 1978 that I'd be playing the likes of "I Fought The Law" at Motorcycle Club Fancy Dress Parties and the like!

I still can't see us playing "Ugly" at a wedding reception, even if the groom is an "ugly fart" with loads of money!

Also, a big thank you to Adrian and Christina at The Rat's Lair for putting the link up to our site - they do a huge amount of work and it's all voluntary! However, being The Stranglers' web-masters must have its plus points!

If anyone is going to the Cambridge Corn Exchange gig on Sat 13 March, just shout out "He's Not My Mate!" in the bit between the support act and The Stranglers I'll come over and give you a badge!!

Thanks for popping in and reading this: perhaps you'll like the look of what we play and book us for your own "do". As Claire would say, "We're not cheap, just affordable!".
