| Comments: | Just stopping by to get more info on Farscape and its
cast. When it first began, I couldn't get into it as some of the characters, such as Rygel and Pilot, looked very muppet like. I started watching one Saturday morning after Sliders, and thought it seemed to be better than I remembered it. By the time that one episode was over, I started to think that it was a pretty good show. I gave the show another chance, and then another, and then... I was hooked. I've really been enjoying this show, and hope it continues. I watch just about any SciFi show, space related especially, but don't necessarily enjoy all of them. I come from a Star Trek fan background, and even forgive, and watch, those episodes and movies that really suck too. Some of them I think are great (the even numbered movies, of course), but the others go from OK down to pretty boring, but I'll still watch them all. Now when Babylon5 began, I was immediately hooked, as it was so much different than the flowery type picture the Star Trek world painted, and continues to paint (although some episodes have been getting a bit darker from time to time). B5 was amazing! There were so many episodes which, when seen for the first time, just blew my mind. I won't get into details, but it was a very dark space SciFi that was envisioned as a five year saga, and was able to tell the entire story. The relationships between races, both genetical relationships, as well as personal relationships throughout the thousand years (and many years after as a few movies followed the series - as well as the last episode that was on UPN (which seemed to be the end as it jumped a hundred, a thousand, and I believe a million years when earth's sun explodes)). FarScape is still a series I do enjoy watching, but what is the whole objective of the ship and crew? I know Crichton wants to find, or find a way to make, a wormhole so he can get back, but what was the crew doing as a mission before Crichton arrived (and continue to do???)??? Enjoy, sorry for babbling. Hey - Go to a KISS concert before they wrap it up. You won't regret it whether you like their music or not. It's one helluva show. HoundCat |

only other show I enjoy as much is Ally McBeal. I think the commonality between both shows lies in the fact that the characters all have such distinct personalities and with each episode you learn a little bit more about each one. In real life you do the same thing, you get to know someone a little at a time, and then you feel that you have a "bond" with them. Same for Farscape, after watching so many episodes you feel you have a bond with these characters, and even love the ones you hate, a.k.a. Rigel...hahaha |
