| Comments: | Thank you for celebrating Dana's life. Through your site, I was able to listen to Dana's last interview on the Howard Stern Show. Frankly, I was appauled by the way she was treated, not only by Howard Stern and his show, but by the numerous people who called into the show that day. Those phone callers, whoever they are, should be ashamed of themselves! Dana had been struggling for many years. While I cannot blame her death on The Howard Stern Show, I can say that it was the final crucifixtion of Dana and her character. The interview is terribly sad and haunting. She appears to be a sweet woman who just needed to be loved and given a second chance. The Howard Stern Show's treatment of Dana Plato is an outrage !!! |

I did not know her but I did grow up watching Different Strokes and she was great. I too had a problem with addiction and now have almost 4 years of being off of drugs. | Comments: | After posting my comments on your site I got currious as to what other(S) were going to say and or write about Dana. Alot of nice, wonderful things were said about her and her character. What made the site for me that much less paiful to read was the fact that Shavar Ross(Dudley) posted his thoughts and condolasants. I probally didnt read them all but glanced at most if not all of them and it appears out of all the other people that Dana worked with, he, was the only one to do this? The rest of her cast members, Charlette Raye, Conrad Bain,Gary Coleman, Todd Bridges,appreared to be "One Big Happyy Family" on the inside but on the outside life can take a differnt turn because now your dealing with "Reality". My thoughts and prayers will always go out to those Dana left behind. Regardles if Dana "overdosed" or it was "suicide" No One really knows but Dana and whoever she was with her the time that it happened. Rest In Peace Dana and A HUGE thanks for making my younger yrs a pleasurable one. Also the episode were Dana had the "Eating Disorder" she did a termendous job on that. It's a crippling and very rough thing to go through and no matter what anyone says it stays with you for the rest of your life. Kudos to you Dana, YOU ROCK!!! |

| Comments: | After seeing the un-authorized movie of Different Strokes on NBC a while back it appears that Dana Plato was using drugs long before anyone new about it? It's sad to think that all of the younger actors in the series were at one time or another involved with being in some sort of trouble after he show was cancelled. I grew up on it and to this day watch it on DVD. Its a shame that no one was able to help Dana and maybe this was her one way out of a very long battle that she didnt think she had anymore control over? |

Having grown up watching the show at the age of ten, the show informed our great country just how it was to have been an african american. | Comments: | Dana Plato was an extremely talented actress that was robbed of a career and robbed of a life by getting involved with the wrong people. Personally I think her agent made a drastic mistake by not granting her the role in blue lagoon because that would have been the start of a very successful acting career on the big screen , so I think that her agent was the cause of her downfall and her different strokes co-stars should be ashamed of themselves for not being there for her when she needed them most. They appeared to be one big happy family on the show but ofcourse in real life people always tend to show their true colours and it's terribly unfortunate for Dana to have mixed with the wrong crouds. If she only had sincere friends & family to be their for her when she needed them most , she would have most definitely still been alive & well today but that's just the hard unfortunate blow that life delivers to some of us sometimes and that is just so truly sad. She will be missed by all and she will always be remembered for her famous role as Kimberly Drummond.

Espero que el sol, que alumbra constantemente nuestros recuerdos, y al mismo momento lentamente los acerca a la muerte, pues el mismo sol que te ve a ti me ve a mi, que los campos, los vigorosos y tenues te acobijen, protejan todo lo tuyo, todo lo eternamente tuyo, pues tú ya formas parte de la única madre que tiene todo ser sufriente, todo ser que va de un extremo a otro, porque los extremos siempre o son buenos o son malos, porque los mediocres, los fanfárrones, las verdaderas prostitutas( tanto de ideas, como de arte) todos ellos, si se quedan esperando que el tren vuelva a recogerlos, ¡Ah, me olvide de tí, ahora vuelvo por ti, que importa si has pasado hambre, frío, si la soledad amargo tu corazón, si tus pensamientos se convirtieron en acero que se protegen, sin embargo, tambien se daña... ¡No lo seres que buscamos un lugar dentro o fuera de la tierra sólo tienen dos opción o perecer o tratar de crear su dicha aquí con nuestra única madre: Naturaleza! Que los vientos que corren todo el mundo, toda tumba, toda tierra, todo clima, todo mar, que tocan multitud de rostros, que ellos mismos traigan tu nombre en un corazón envenenado, en un corazón constantemente envenenado, que constantemente brega con el tedio, con la simplesa vulgar, con los sueños llanos. Para mi has seguido el mismo sendero que la Naturaleza te trazó, ¿curioso verdad?... Hay un lindo cuadro de un gran artista(al decir gran artista, tambien decimos gran humano, frase esta que esta tan puteada estos días, tan popularizada que a cualquier mierda se le atribuye) donde los pinselazos, los colores, y la infinita abilidad han caído sobre: una cama, dos sillas, una mesa sencilla, jabones, una almohada tierna, fresadas, una ventana que esta abierta para todos los seres y una puerta cerrada ¡claro para todos los miserables! Porque como tú Van Gogh brego, sintió, sufrió, como hoy sufren muchas almas sencibles al conocerte, el gran Van Gogh retrato en ese cuadro a todos los seres insignificantes, a todos los seres quizas como yo, quizas como tú, quizas como una simple botella que luego de ser bebida cae en el olvido, o viejos árboles que son removidos de su habitad para calor vulgar. El mejor homenaje Dana Plato es sentirte cada día, sentirte en una bella flor, sentirte en una niña hermosa, o sentirte en un cálido invierno u quizás en los cielos, en general en la poesía que es donde al fin todos nuestros esfuerzos, nuestros deseos, nuestras esperanzas, yacen. Siempre el corazón busca con una vehemencia a veces silenciosa, a veces retumbante alguien, como a un hermano, atter ego, o sencillamente alguien que nos entienda ahora o en el futuro. Siempre habrá hombres y mujeres que un recuerdo o un simple gusto nos una eternamente, rompiendo tanto la barrera del tiempo y el espacio esa es la única forma de ser inmortal, la única forma de agradecerte, no por tu actuación, no por tu belleza, no por tu nombre, sencillamente por existir, por tener la vida que tuviste una vida de extremos, ¡Digna de pocas mujeres!. Friedrich Nietzsche, en la cuarta parte de Zaratrustha, en el primer capítulo, tiene un bello pasaje donde habla más o menos así: por caminos montañosos voy, siempre he ido por caminos montañosos, jamás me han gustado los caminos planos y al final de cuentas mi vida es un camino montañoso. Alli el corazón, las nostalgias, nostalgias sin base brotan y tu rostro y tu existir sale a luz en bellos pensamientos, es el arte, el misterio, de una comunicación que ha soslayado lo material. Hay que ver la obra de Van Gogh (digo Van Gogh, y no Vincetn Van Gogh, porque para mi Van Gogh el artista es: Vincent y Theo), misterio que hay en el CAMPO MONTAÑOSO que Van Gogh hizo en plena enfermedad. Así tu existencia ha sido y asi se comunica a la sensibilidad de hombres y mujeres. Hoy no perteneces más a este asqueroso mundo, hoy pertences al mundo que diariamente tras batallas de siglos y años, de inviernos y veranos, se va creando muy lejos de aquí, en un lugar donde estan todos los que la Naturaleza acobije. ¡Eternamente! |

| Comments: | I would like to thank you for the tasteful website dedicated to a wonderful actress. I had the wonderful chance to meet Dana in Mid April 1999, she had an amazing energy and was an absolute doll to anyone and everyone. We spent half an hour talking before I realized...woah...I'm talking to Dana Plato! She showed me pictures of her son Tyler. She never once pulled the I was a child star so I still demand royal treatment...We spent the next 2 1/2 talking about things as simple as the weather to things as complicated as why she felt the need to defend herself to everyone and why they wouldn't leave her alone. "Sometimes I get so tired of defending myself I shouldn't have to." Dana you don't have to defend youself anymore. We will defend you. Rest in Peace Sweet Angel!<-@ |

| Comments: | Dana Plato was a really special person and I love her and miss her. She may have had her problems in life, but then again so do we all. I remember one memory of her is that I wrote to her when I was 15 years old, telling her I like her and would like a photo of her. I never expected that 3 months later that I got a autographed picture of her personally autographed to me. I cherished Dana picture and held on to it until a house fire broke out and her photo was destroyed some years later. I want Dana to be remembered as a beautiful princess and actress and the kind of girl we all would love to meet and have for a friend. My only regret is I never got to meet her in person. Let's not ever forget her and show her we will always love her. Thank you Dana for being you and I miss you. |
