I can't say that I know how it feels to loose someone close to you, but I love George and it hurts to know he isn't with us. I can't want more than to know that he is happy where ever he is. He was a beautiful person and I can only imagine what he was like and how much more beautiful his smile was in person and how tender his eyes really were. I was not a fan of the beatles until after george's death and for that I thank god. I think I might have wanted to die had I loved him the way I do when he died. I often wonder if there was something that could have saved him and if so, why wasn't it done. I want him back with us. I know he will live on through those who love him, through his music, and through the Beatles. It is an honor to love him, I just wish it didn't hurt. Thank you for giving me the chance to express myself here. I love George Harrison!

I do miss George. He may have been the quiet Beatle, but his music spoke volumes. While with the Beatles he only gave us a glimpse of his song writing ability, which came into full force after the Fab 4 broke up.

George Harrison died three years ago today. Can't believe it's been that long already, but it has.
George is someone we all shared, we all knew. Whether you liked him or not, he was there. And now, of course, he's not. I thought of him in passing today, feeling a bit wistful but not sad. In fact, in remembering him, I found myself giggling at some silly thing I remember reading about him or hearing him say. I find it very hard not to smile when I think of him, for all the fun and beauty he brought to the world. He wasn't perfect but that's okay because no one you love is. Perfect, I mean. There are a lot of people missing him today, his family most of all. It's their hearts I hope will find comfort and healing in his absence. I hope they realize that his presence will never be gone, his spirit will never die, and in this sense he'll always be with them, with us, a part of the universe as we all are. And one day, if things work out, maybe we'll all be together again. Until then, I'll have to make due with silly smatterings of feelings typed out in blogs like this, online diaries and the like. This came to me today, and I thought I would share it with you. Sweet George, Just wanted you to know I think of you this day And offer up a prayer That you have found your way. I love you for the many gifts you've left us with... your music your wisdom your humor your light that still shines today you've gone and left your mark on my heart forever. Take care & see ya later. love always, ria:) ¸..· ´¨¨)) -:¦:- ¸.·´ .·´¨¨)) ((¸¸.·´ ..·´ -:¦:- -:¦:- ((¸¸.·´

A great level of respect is delivered to the unique one and only George Harrison and his wife and one and only son Dhani. He will be sadly missed by all his friends and the people who listened to his music. It is now about 4 years since his untimely passing. I wished I had been to one of his concerts to see him live but I will never have that chance. His music is pure and lives on in us. It is great that Paul Mccartney does one or two songs of George's in his set. It will show that none of us will forget him. I hope to hear Dhani's music sometime see how that turns out.

The day of George's passing still rings a clear and solid bell in my mind. I remember I KNEW something was wrong, even though I had not yet heard the news. As I stepped out of the car and into the school building, there was an indescribable sensation of uneasiness, though something was completely out of whack, though I couldn't place my finger on it. I also had the feeling that I should listen to All Things Must Pass and nothing else for the entire day. I returned home after having a wonderful yet uneasy day, only to be met with the words of my mom: "Oh, by the way, George died." I rushed to my room after school everyday that week and sobbed, just sobbed. The weather was dark and stormy, lightning pierced the sky... it seemed so appropriate. I could not - and still cannot at times - fathom the fact that he is no longer with us in this world. This was the man I had looked up to for years, the man who inspired me to practice the guitar for hours on end, no matter what. It seems so surreal, so unfair. But, now I must remember that he is no longer suffering, and I'm sure he's in safe hands. I never had the privilage of meeting him personally, but he seemed so wonderful. He is truly missed by one and all. Rest in peace, George.

George...George was very dear to my heart - I never met the man, but he had a bigger impact on my life and how I live it than almost anyone else. He was my favourite Beatle - is my favourite, and his solo work inspires me every time I hear it. The way his music touches my soul is simply incomparable to any other experience, and I am truly sorrowful at the loss of him. I remember the day I heard the news so very clearly. My guitar teacher was talking about it in class that morning, and I was shocked beyond belief. I waited until individual practice time had begun, and I obtained a pass to the bathroom so I could cry alone. I didn't want to cry in front of all those boys. That day was truly one of the most difficult experiences I can recall - just getting to classes without breaking into tears. My experience is probably a little different from some, because I gain emotional attachments so easily, but I think anyone can sympathize with the shock and horror of that day.

When i heard the news oh boy it was indear a sad day!! words really couldn't express what i really felt but i did as much as i could to express my feelings by wearing my Beatles shirt and listing to the music. What made me so mad when people came up to me and said well at least it wasn't Paul or why couldn't be Ringo or I hope its Ringo. These so called Beatle people or a bunch of liars if your a true friend you wouldn't dare wish death to an other legend. They are something special indeed they are. Why do you think George's passing left such an effect on the world. Well Rock In Peace George . All things must pass....

George hasn't been my favorite Beatle since I was a little kid. I've been more of a John and Paul guy, actually. However, I do have something to offer to George's credit. If you examine the individual efforts of Lennon, McCartney, and Harrison in the 70's, you can see just how up to standard George was able to hold his own. John's solo work of this period was notable for his messages - always philosophical, political, spiritual. But his music - the melodies and chords - lacked the daringness of his Beatles work. In The Beatles, he had Paul McCartney to challenge his genius and George Martin to cultivate it. Alone, he still had a lot to say, but he said it against a backdrop of rather lackluster musical landscapes (the best example of this imbalance being the 'Some Time In New York City' album). The tunes had begun to sound alike, often augmented by the tired trappings of 'boogie-woogie' pianos, saxophones, and other traditional sounds that harkened desperately back to the "good ol' days of rock'n'roll" - hardly what you would expect from a top musical innovator. In most cases, John's lyrics were ranking four stars with the music only earning two. Paul, on the other hand, had the opposite problem. An underrated musical genius, Paul always managed to take us on some kind of a different musical journey, whether you liked the scenery or not each time. He was quite precise in his arrangements, creating those kinds of melodies a perfectionist like McCartney must demand from himself. Unfortunately, he was never one to spread any great messages of enlightenment. On the rare occasion, he might have used his position to voice an opinion on some kind of social issue, but usually the prevalent message was no more than a general sentiment of the glory of love. And why not? He wrote every love song about the same woman, for whom he always intensely felt the same way. The silly love songs weren't silly because the love didn't work; the songs just didn't cut it from a lyrical standpoint. You can only have "I love Linda and Linda loves me" as the underlying meaning of so many poems, before it grows weary to the listener. So, Paul's music was ranking four stars while the lyrics earned two. Now, George was a different and yet identical story. His lyrics were much deeper than Paul's, although perhaps lacking the wit and fire of John's, while his music was surely technically superior to John's, if not quite reaching the consistent heights of McCartney's abilities. Therefore, George's educated (and educating) words were certainly worth three stars, and his advanced musicianship (diminished sevenths and all) also garnered him three stars musically. This gives each of these Beatles a cumulative score of six (or an average score of three), and proves mathematically that George was a force to be reckoned with, falling just short of the peaks while always avoiding the valleys.

George was never the "Quiet Beatle" that the press pegged him; rather, he was the most observant, and when he did talk, he had plenty to say. Spiritual, loving, gentle, and always with something positive to say, he made me remember why I began meditating a while ago. His songs were just as good, if not better, than Lennon-McCartney, and you always felt great listening to them and even afterwards. He showed us that we cannot exist as shells of ourselves but as whole beings who have to be satisfied with ourselves and always seek truth and love. I am not sad that George is gone; rather I am grateful that God chose him to come home and prepare the way for us so that when we go we'll know how to get there. He is where he ultimately wanted to be, and I can't help but to be happy that he is happy.
"Shouting all about love Well they treated you like a dog, And you were the one who made it so clear All those years ago Talking all about how to give They don't act with much honesty But you were the way to the truth when you said 'All you need is love'". Thank you for insipring me, Georgie boy.

I'll never forget a night in November of 1970. I was on my way to a Chicago Blackhawks game and a song came on the radio. I thought to myself that it sure sounded like George Harrison. I also remember thinking how great the song was and that you could almost sing along not even hearing it before. As the song ended the dj came on and announced "George Harrison...My Sweet Lord from his new album All Things Must Pass." The next day I went to the store to buy the album but found out my $3.99 wasn't enough money for it was a 3 record album which cost $9.99. I literally ran home to ask my Mom for the difference and ran back to the record store thinking the whole time "3 records.3 records. He put out 3 records at one time...how?...3 records? I bought the album, ran home, and put it on my compact stereo. "This is goooood. No, this is great. WOWWWWW!" I thought it was the greatest album I had ever heard. I still think it is one of, if not, the best albums of the 70's. I played it over and over and ended up buying another copy a couple of years later because I had worn out the first. I didn't realize back then that Lennon and McCartney would only let Harrison have only a couple songs on an album. I had thought that he just didn't write as fast as the other two. Not to take away from the great Beatle Albums, but I wonder how different they would have been if he was allowed more than a couple tracks. George showed with "All Things Must Pass" that not only was he a great guitarist, but also a great composer. I'll miss George Harrison. His music will live on forever and he will forever be in my heart.

Sorry about that previous post, I hit enter too soon.
George was my hero. My superhero. And superheroes are immortal. Or so I thought. But even through my selfish thoughts of "my" loss, he is not really gone. Death is not the end, merely one door opening and another closing. With George's journey to another life, or perhaps his meeting with Lord Krshna, I have taken another look at my life. Life is too short to waste and all of it must be embraced, good and bad. And a personal connection with YOUR Lord is important, no matter what the name may be. Really, words can't express the impact George made on my life. Only he and Lord Krshna will know. Heroes never die, they live on in our hearts. Hear Me Lord, Sadie
