| Comments: | I grew up in Pgh. where my father was a teacher at Oliver High, in the early to mid 70's we took several trips to Connelsville area, we would camp out in the mines and explore Casperis Cave on Saturday. Can anyone validate my somewhat cloudy memory and tell me if I remember correctly? I vaguely remember getting into the cave as far as we could and seeing that the cave starts with a waterfall and you can see light at the piont where the water enters.
We also explored Schoolhouse cave in W.V. and climbed Humphrey's head. I have been living in Boulder Colorado for 30 years but miss much of Western Pa. landscape. |

I do not believe any others know of its location and do not believe it has ever been explored. I have only been into its mouth not very far it opens into a Huge area! with many side passages with a stream in it! |

| Comments: | I was an early member of the Explorers Club of Pittsburgh. I was still in High School. We did the Dulaneys Cave exploring, shooting the river at Ohio Pyle, and attempting to climb Mt Washington. I must admit I was not the climber like Ivan and Ed Coll were. Sure would like to hear from or about others in the early days of ECP. Names I remember are Jack Leppla, Ed Coll, Ivan, Vince BRadley Rich Schaffer, and Mr. Kale, (the owner of the cave in those days. |

| Comments: | Nice looking web site. I have visited Laurel caverns years ago, managed to drop a mag lite flashlight about 30 ft down through some breakdown and had to clamber down to retrieve it from a small stream at the bottom and it wasn't hurt a bit.

| Comments: | Enjoyed prowling your site. As a Pittsburgh-area caver in the 1960's ( part of Ivan Jirak's muddy crew ) we delighted in probing some of the great caves which are now closed for bat protection with our relatively simple equipment of that era.
I have some great photos of Schoolhouse, Hellhole, and other adventures from the wonderful caves in an around Pendleton County, West Virginia. Maybe some day I'll post them on the net for all the old farts to enjoy their not-forgotten memories. |
