Some yellow discharge coming out from incision, but from what Ive read this is normal (although not sure if it should smell or not). Also my frenulum is a sort of yellowy colour, but yet again.. ive heard this is normal too. Ive just read a site saying to contact a doctor if i see any yellow discharge. I would very much appreciate feedback and wether i should visit my doctor or not incase of infection. :D |

I have wanted it done for years and I have on a couple of occasions tried to mention it in a round about kind of way and not had the best response. It isn't for any other reason other than cosmetic but I really think it looks so much better, tidier and I get the impression it is a lot cleaner too!
With regards to your diary, it is brilliant, nice to read a step by step account of how it is and makes me feel a lot more confidant about going through with the procedure, I am sure it wont be a problem once it is fone, not a lot of choice after its gone lol! |

I was circumcised when i was 12. I was very afraid about it. Cause our foreskin is removed in painful way. But there was no way to escape from circumcision. One morning i wanted to know that i will be circumcised. I tried to escape from it but no way. Two of my uncles caught me same as police catch the theaf. Then they took me near the Hagem (Who circumcise people). In the circum stage there was gathered around hundred of peoples to watch my circumcision. Then they (my uncles) sat me on a tool in the circumcision stage & caught me tightly so that i cannot move. Then hagen came in front of me with a knife. He touches my penis by his hand & asked my name. At that time suddenly he drive the knife over my penis & cut my forskin. Then i was crying & said help, help. But no one helped me. All of my relatives & neighbours watches it. I saw that it was bedding from my penis. Then they took me in my room & laid me. So whether it is good of bad we must have to be circumcised. We have no control over our foreskin, over our circumcision decision. |

| Comments: | I was circumcised just last week, in fact today is day 7 for me. I was circumcised as an infant, but it was probably only a partial circumcision, and as it healed, parts of my foreskin grew onto the head of my penis. When flaccid, the foreskin would still roll over the head entirely, but it was attached to the underside and tapered along the sides of my penis. The foreskin on top of my penis could still be fully retracted. I had always felt normal about it, until about a year ago when I tore the adhesion a couple of millimeters on the side.
It hurt so I left it alone for 4 days, but from then on, it would always tear in the same spot and re-heal. Over time I noticed it was healing tighter and tighter, and I knew I had to do something about it, so I contacted a doctor for an assessment and he said he could cut the adhesions away and give me a proper circumcision! So here I am today, I found your journal because I was wondering how my recovery would pan out. Of course, my case is a bit different, because foreskin had to be cut away from the head, so I have to wear bandages longer to let the surface skin heal up. Thank you for sharing your experience, it really helps my perspective of where I am in my recovery, and I can't wait to be able to use it again, especially with my sudden increase in sensitivity! |

ive been intact my whole life, discovered i have phimosis (sp?) prob around the age of 15 or so? well it always bothered me while having sex and never liked how it looked. being nervous and all about the whole thing i always put it off for going to the doctors. So i came across this site a couple months ago and after reading everyones posts, it gave me the courage to call up and get it checked out. so got to the doctors, and he referred me to urology. went there last Monday and i recommended surgery. he said normally he would just give me a shot and do the cutting, but he said my case is to severe so he wants me to go under. Anyways im going to pre op on June 7th then surgery June 9th. a little nervous for what to expect. i know its gonna be painful. my biggest fear is getting an erection while its healing. any more information that someone wants to put up would be great, like more on what to expect? |

If you are NOT going to circumcise your boy, at least prompt him to retract his foreskin as soon as he is able to, and to keep it that way at all times. The only real problem, which I only discovered when removing the stitches, was that one stitch, underneath, had either not been done properly or tore through, due to a night time erection, leaving a bump which spoils the effect underneath. I thought it a good idea to keep a bandage on for much longer than you did. But the look and feel is, overall, very pleasing. |

| Comments: | To juan. I honestly don't know the difference since I was cut at birth. I never felt that I miss something and I am pretty happy by what I have. I have read yet about many adults who got circumcised at adult age both for medical and aesthetic reasons. I can tell you that most of them did not experience a worsening in the sensations and some report even better sensations. All of these point to the fact that they, after circumcision, experience more of the female body. They report increased friction and enjoyment.Many of them find the new sensations as better than the gliding into foreskin at out-stroke. Many say they don't regret the decision at all and that they are puzzled by the claims of reduced enjoyment by anti-circ organisations. I hope this provides an answer. God bless you! |

Its just over two weeks since being circumcised and the last of the stitches fell out today.I have always been quick to heal and things are looking fine down below, started wearing boxers again yesterday and getting used to the different sensation now and love it 100%. | Comments: | I've been wanting to get circumcised since I was 14 or so when I realised my foreskin was never going to retract. When I was 19/20 I finally plucked up the courage to get it done but I didn't go through with it just because I wasn't 100% sure.
What I really want to know is - How much sensitivity will be lost? Does it always look better? As in colour wise? Will the head look out of place with the rest of the skin? How long does it take to look somewhat normal? How long roughly before proper sex can be enjoyed? Cheers Oh and ps, can I just say that this website is seriously amazing. It's the reason I plucked up the courage the first time and it might be the same this time. I'm sure it's benefited so many men and without this website many blokes would still be unhappy. I am in the second category having first had the procedure at age 36 and almost a year ago having had a revision by Dr Z to deal with some stretching that had occured over the years. Dr Z is FANTASTIC! everything you and others say about their experience with him and his team is true and I recommend anyone wanting to have a circumcision or a revision to hesitate no longer you are unlikely to find anyone better. Do not have any fears of discomfort, embarrassment or sexual regret - it is a cakewalk and you will find it a great new chapter in your life.
Your site is a a most welcome counter balance to the anti- circ fraternity who as you say - too gently I might add - frequently deal in distortion and untruths which are not helpful to parents trying to make a good decision for their sons. For those cut in infancy and perhaps inclined to a victim complex it is not helpful either. I was glad to see one of your respondents who in that regard found your site reassuring having been persuaded by it that he was not a victim after-all. As you can tell based on my own experience I am a strong supporter of circumcision - always assuming it is done competently of course - and feel its benefits deserve to be very more widely promoted. |

| Comments: | I had my circ about 6 years ago. I always thought that having sex was uncomfortable, but somehow got into a discussion with a frirnd of mine who had had the op several years earlier. Well I thought nothing ventured, etc. so asked why he had his op. and asked if I could look exactly what was done. He had no problem at all showing me his op. and exactly what happened. I went saw my doctor, explained my problem which was a short frelum. I had to wait approx. 6 months but was eventually given day surgery at my local hospital. It has been great ever since....you have to use lube for wanking, but thats no problem, in fact its better. I would like about 5mm of skin tightning where the frenlum used to be as my gland now is slightly facing upwards when I have an erection, but otherwise, a very worthwhile decision, I think. So it's been about a month and a half since the op and everything seems to have healed up quite nicely :) My supposedly dissolvable sutures were, unfortunately, an absolute pain in the arse so I ended up having to see the doctor and asking him to remove them. I've been left with some suture marks since they were in for too long, but they really don't look that bad - nothing horrifyingly noticeable at all, probably wouldn't even notice unless you gave my cock a real good stare and somehow I don't think the ladies will be examining it with a magnifying glass so all is fine as far as I'm concerned! :P Masturbation slightly more difficult for me, though my masturbation method was a tad unorthodox when I had my foreskin 'cos of phimosis and whatnot, so that's probably why. No noticeable loss of sensitivity and even if there was, I really wouldn't care - I'd rather lose a bit than have none at all during sex like I did when I had my foreskin! No regrets for me. Circ was the only option left to me and it seems to have sorted out my sexual health problems once and for all! Looks good, feels good, all's good! Sore for about the first week and a bit, after that it was fine. Had to wear briefs for about 2 weeks to get my penis used to being exposed, after that I was fine wearing my normal boxers as usual. Only difficult part was the whole lack of masturbation thing...which brings me to my next point - BE PATIENT! Don't rush things, else you might bugger up the healing a bit and prolong things like I did. Take your time with it - if there's pain, leave it alone! It really isn't worth it. I'd say just take the plunge and go for it - when all is healed, it's totally worth it. :) |

I was booked in aug 2008, had the consultation but when they came to do it i had some bad family news and the doc wouldnt operate due to the stress i was experiencing... Intro: I'm 26 years of age and I have always had a tight foreskin for the majority of my life. I couldn't pee straight as the foreskin was in the way - it would either spray or pee in 2 lines which was messy. I also had to wear toilet paper in my underpants full time to absorb any leftover urine as it was apparently being trapped by the foreskin, it was a very embarrassing problem and decided to go to the doctor about it this year. He said those 2 things were caused by the tight foreskin, (Phimosis I believe?) and said it would be recommended to have a circumcision. I could masturbate comfortably without any pain as I probably had a lot of loose skin to glide it over the gland while the tip of the foreskin stayed on top. Any attempt to pull it back was painful. About 8 years ago I pulled it right back in a bathtub and couldn't get it back up again, I panicked a lot until I could get it rolled up again, the pain wasn't something I wanted to experience again. I suppose I was lucky enough to not get an infection or any cheese smell, the gland has never been washed for the last several years Operation: I went in for my circumcision at 11am on the 2nd of December and was kept in overnight, I never did see my nervousness coming when I was being bed-trolley'd to the operating theatre, ended up with shaking legs and being terrified :) I was kept in overnight so the doctors could be sure everything was fine, and I'm glad they decided that. The bandage was wrapped round my penis, so any attempt to pee soaked up the bandage in urine, I even left it like that for 2 hours cos I was embarrassed about it then a nurse changed the bandage. In the morning the bandage was taken off and replaced with a gauze pad that you can just lay over on top of your penis with so it's not in contact with the underpants clothing. Post-Op I'm taking my co-codamol every 6 hours (rather than 4) so I can cover a full 24 hours duration as it's only limited to 4 doses a day. I wake up at 6am for a pee and for the next dose then go back to sleep. My dose intake is at 12pm, 6pm, 12 midnight, 6am, and I sleep from 2am to 11am. The pain is not as bad as I expected, thought it would be a lot worse, it's the discomfort that's more of a problem with the sensitive gland being exposed, I'm occasionally twitching if it touches something or I'm thinking about it. It's also difficult taking off the gauze pad when needing to pee as it sticks to the "jap's eye" of the gland as I feel a tearing feeling, I'm still sceptical about putting Vaseline on the tip to ease the removing of the pad. Still going to continue using a pad for a few more days until I'm comfortable with my penis to be touching clothing. I'm also bathing every day with Johnson's Baby Bath ever since my operation passed 48 hours. I'm going to start adding salt to my bath from tomorrow onwards to speed up healing, as I'm a smoker and the nicotine is reducing healing by 50%. Right now I'm dealing with constipation, I have not been for 4 days now and I'm feeling uncomfortable, the last time I went was before the operation. I've took a Senokot yesterday morning to no effect so I took another one this morning. My advice to anyone about to have it done: get your hair around it trimmed a bit! Including the top part of your ballsack, I wasn't told of this and I'm constantly getting hair tangled around the wound, although I have tried to trim some carefully. |

Still haven't lost any stitches, unfortunately, though I've read they can take up to three weeks to come out and they're gradually getting looser so hopefully I'll lose at least a few of them soon! The only thing that's driving me NUTS is the lack of masturbation - the only reason I haven't gone for it yet is because full-blown erections are still very tight and I don't want to risk tearing the incision line on ejaculation...meh. Must fight the temptation! Otherwise, things are well. Hypersensitivity has gone down enough for me to comfortably wear boxers out and about again which is pleasing! Bruising has cleared up very well, swelling has more or less gone down entirely. Just wish these bloody stitches would come out... Also, just a quick one for any students like me - I was out clubbing and getting drunk (as per usual!) about three or four days after the op and I've read stories of people who've gone out clubbing the very next day, so don't worry about your social life being dented haha! |

Sylvia was great and helpful especially in organising the process. i think I am healing well if I follow your healing process (i know its different with people) you have a great site that helps prepare for the healing a few blood spots and draining. My biggest issue with the procedure was the injection for the nerve bloke, the though of someone sticking a needle in your D*** had 2 weeks of sleepless nights, but Dr Zarifa cracked a few jokes and the next minute it was numb didn't feel a thing... I have felt no pain at all, except those blistering night jaunts... but i can say that in 4 nights it is gone and you get a full blown rise with no pain at all.... remember no pain no gain. |

I'm now officially 4 days post circumcision. To be honest, I haven't experience a great deal of pain. The first night my friend was still numb/anaesthesised after the local block that the anaesthesist put there. The following morning the jockstrap with briefs over that made a big difference. As mentioned before by you and others making sure that your fella doesnt rock about makes a world of difference. The first few days I took the full whack of pain meds that I was prescribed, now by day four a little bit less or only when I go and do something. The swelling is slowly getting less, there's still some ooze of lymphatic fluid and one stitch came off with a speck of blood. The biggest problem is now that I'm BORED. I want this hypersensitivity and having to be careful to pass so I can do what I want again. This is probably where your website helped most: i have to bare in mind that there will probably be no playing for the 2 weeks? Ugh. Keep me posted, I like reading everyone's experiences. :-) L. |

Yeah, it's perfectly normal for your penis to hurt when it rubs against your boxers. Basically, your glans needs time to get used to being outside the foreskin. After 2-3 weeks, this'll probably go away. In the meantime, I've found that briefs help to ease the pain - keeps your penis from getting bobbed about everywhere! And yeah, the bleeding you've described is also normal, especially if you've only had it done yesterday! The stitches should more or less come out on their own. DON'T try and directly pull any out - if you see one loose that just won't budge, you might need to give it a *gentle* helping hand, but don't straight try and pull one out that's still fixed; they should just come loose when they're ready :) Hope that's helped! -Louis |

I found it very helpfull as i have just had it done, yesterday in fact. beacause i had something called phimosis or summit like it. BRIEFS ARE AN ABSOLUTE LIFESAVER! Walking and sitting down was an absolute tirade in boxers. Briefs make life so much easier - the penis gets the support it needs, no pain from it banging about all over the place. My overall self-esteem has improved too - don't feel like such a freak walking really slow and carefully all the time. Anyone considering circumcision, stock up on some briefs for the recovery! Makes getting life back to normal MUCH easier. |

Been waiting about two years for this. First I tried cream/stretching, didn't work. Frenuloplasty didn't work. Took me a long time to work up the courage to go to the doctor once again and request a circumcision...now here I am. I fear I'll be encountering a great deal of swelling over the next week. NHS don't seem to use compression bandages - basically just wrapped it in gauze and put a condom over it. That fell off, so technically my "bandaging" has been removed within 24 hours. I've still got gauze down there to catch blood spots, but otherwise, yeah. Meh. Just can't wait to get this outta the way. The healing for my frenuloplasty required a great deal of patience from me, but I got used to it after a bit...here's hoping the same thing happens with the circ! Thanks a lot for this site, helps me feel a lot better about my procedure, not feeling so lonely about the way it looks right now, the healing process, etc. Just hope all my healing goes well and ends up looking as healthy as yours! Might post a few updates/concerns on here as the days go by just in case anyone else fancies a read...I love reading anything anyone has to say about their experience, really helps put my mind at ease so yeah, would be great if I could do that for somebody else. :) |

I think I probably realised that I would need this when I was 16 or so but I was too scared to do anything about it then. I did not feel able to talk to anyone about the problems I was having with my foreskin which had always been long and tight and would not retract when I had an erection. From age 13 or 14 I started to get cracks and scarring at the end of my foreskin, and it was painful to masturbate. I have had Type 1 diabetes since childhood, and this probably contributed a lot to my problems (as glucose in the urine tends to encourage bacteria and thrush to grow). When I became sexually active I was getting repeated balanitis and thrush infections which my girlfriend and I would pass backwards and forwards between us. Intercourse was painful, sometimes extremely so and my foreskin would split and crack. Ironically my mother had asked me when I was around 12 - 13 if I could pull back my foreskin to clean underneath but I was so embarrassed that I just said 'yes' (I could, but with difficulty as it was very long and fairly tight). I did have some knowledge of circumcision as a child as my brother was circumcised around 18 months of age for phimosis. My parents say that they considered having me done at the same time (I was 4) but decided not to as I didn't seem to need it. (I grew up in a culture where childhood circumcision is rarely done, and never without medical indications) I finally managed to go to the GP when I was 23 and it was done under local anaesthetic. My urologist left about a third of my foreskin, and the cosmetic effect is not that great. However, this is not why I had it done. I had despaired of ever having pain-free, pleasurable intercourse and this is what I have had since I was circumcised. As a schoolboy and then as a student, it felt as though there was no-one I could talk to about it, and I knew of no-one with a similar problem. I was extremely anxious about the prospect of having to be circumcised. I thought it was just me that had this problem and that the doctor would laugh at me. Access to a website like this would have helped a great deal. After my circumcision I did manage to talk to two good friends about my experience, and of course I discovered that one had been done in childhood and both were sympathetic and understanding. I have never regretted my circumcision despite the cosmetic imperfections and dryness because my pre-operation experiences were so miserable. I just felt relief and pleasure that I'd finally found the courage to have the operation. I do also prefer the way my penis looks now. Sorry I've written so much. | Comments: | I was circumcised as an infant. It didn't bother me at all until I saw some pictures of intact bodies and read about disadvantages and reduced pleasure due to the procedure. It made me feel angry and I kept thinking about that thing, also while engaging is sexual activity. It felt like some sensations are missing and that I have lost much pleasure. This changed 180 degrees as I communicated with others who have done the procedure as adults (some of whom did not have any medical indications at all). They all said almost the same thing that there is minimal or no loss of sensations & pleasure. Some said that sex felt better afterward.
You should not believe everything that is up on the web. As I became less concerned about this issue, my pleasure and sensations increased dramatically. The sensations I get now are so strong that I cannot imagine more. It's all up in the mind. It was really stupid of me to worry about circumcision as it cost me negative feelings and reduced satisfaction. Cheers! |

I was circumcised in 2005 for medical reasons, for somw years previously I had suffered recurrent infections of my glans and inner foreskin. It made no difference how often I showered, twice a day, it would come and go, in cycles from two to three weeks to about two months, and was much worse in the summer months. Often the infections were painful, causing the inner skin to become very red and sometimes crack and then swell up and make it hard to retract. My doctor for several years kept giving me creams and various other remedies, which did calm it down, but it kept coming back. I saw another doctor at the same centre (happened to be a woman), she had a look and referred me to a urologist, I made an appointment and two weeks after that I had the operation. My urologist seemed to be very good, but he didn't give me too many options on the procedure, described it in detail, what he would do, and aftercare etc. On the day I was told not to eat or drink from 7am onwards (late afternoon appointment), as I would be circumcised under general anesthetic, I thought that was maybe an overkill, anyway at the appointment time I was starting to get nervous and dehydrated. Time came, into the operating room, saline IV in and the that was it. Next thing I remember was the nurse coming in and having a look at my penis to make sure I wasn't bleeding, Ihad bled a little, but nothing to worry about. That night I was sitting at home ans started bleeding, and because my penis was still numbed, I didn't realise for a while, but it wasn't serious bleeding, but did make a mess on the seat. Once I was healing and the stiches came out, I started to see that I was left with a tag of frenulum, and my circumcision is not tight as I might have preferred. Apart from that, it has healed well, and the uroli=ogist was pleased with the result. At some stage I would like to get a bit more taken out and get that ugly tag of frenulum removed, so that it looks better and the outer shaft skin doesn't bunch up and often come over the rim of my glans all the time. The original problems I had are now a thing of the past, and I definitely think that getting circumcised was one of the best things I have had done, no looking back. Also, I experience no pain at any stage from my circumcision, not immediately afterwards, nor in the few days following. If you're thinking about getting circumcised, wether it's for personal or medical reasons, go for it, get it done. Eventually i took the plunge. I was in and out of the hospital in 6 hours (had it done on the NHS) and was well enough to walk afterwards (local anesthetic). The first week it was bloody painful but by week 2 the pain had gone. Had a wank on day 12 (too frustrated) an full sex on day 21 (VERY Carefully I may add!) and ran a 10k on day 32!! It's now day 50 and visually it's perfect and i couldn't be happier but it still feels swollen and i'm still not back 'to my best' in the bedroom department but I know it will be 6 months before it's totally healed. My advice is try not to worry - chances are you will be fine if you have a circ. The first orgasm afterwards was, well - i'd been having sex with the same woman for 17 years and it felt like we were teenagers again! I thought my head was going to come off! | Comments: | I was circ'd on Sept 3rd this year. Due to an "overhang" which led to the skin not retracting fully over the head.
I don't like to kick the NHS unfairly. But the whole process was a load of shit! My GP was anti it saying well why do you need it. But reluctantly referred me. It took 3 months to see a Urologist. He took a 2 min look and said "its up to you, but it does qualify as a medical reason to be circ'd" I said OK. And he filled the paperwork in. 3 Months later I turn up to the Hospital meet the Surgeon who has a massive "God Complex" and tells me how great he is. But he clearly knows fuck all about my individual case. So when I start asking him questions about exactly where he plans to cut he gets visably annoyed and offers to do an "erection test" To find out. This involves pumping your penis full of Saline solution to force an erection. He spends a good 10 mins filling in the paperwork and sends me home. 2 Months later! Notice how much time has passed! And I'm back at the same hospital, same Surgeon and again despite me remining him he can't seem to recall any of the notes he wrote and file looks suspiciosuly thin! Think I've come this far. I'll just get on with what he thinks best. After all he informs me how he specialises in the more techincal cases! So here I am 5 weeks later. the swelling hasn't subsided significantly. And I have a rather obvious skin tag which looks fucking awful! Quite frankly whilse Dans site here is brilliant and there are another couple of smilar ones. I can tell it's got pear shaped! So after hoping that it would have a bit of a recovery spurt (excuse the pun!) it clealy hasn't and I'm now waiting to se my GP who will presumably refer me back to the Hopsital Urologost and the whole stupid, depressing saga will roll on for anohter 8-9 months! And all the while I'm so appauled by what my penis looks like I have no intention of pursuing sexual relations (either on my own or with a young lady!) Guys reading this who are in 2 minds. | Comments: | I was happily circumcised 28 years ago and experienced sex both with and without a foreskin. In my experience an orgasm is just as fulfilling and intense without a foreskin as with. The great difference is that the penis is clean and odour-free, looks 'neat and tidy',pubic hairs are not caught in the foreskin, the foreskin does not get caught in zips and there is no foreskin to tear - all minor benefits in truth but the operation itself is quite minor. I only regret that I had to wait until I had sufficient money to have the operation done privately under local anaesthetic. My foreskin was long and narrow but not tight enough to be regarded as phimosis so I was fobbed off with 'you just have to wash it' when I visited the GP to ask about all the smegma and stench it generated every day even though I did wash it regularly. |

I was cut by the NHS on 6/7/09. Have to say I was pretty petrified. The out patients dept was very busy and I felt very uncomfortable in the waiting area with what appeared to be a bus load of OAP's out for a day trip. When I was taken onto the ward, everything got so much better. The staff recognised my nervousness and did everything they could to comfort me. The operation was quick and dignified as I was out for the count. I'm told some people react badly to be put to sleep.... I wasn't. When I woke up I had a amazing feeling of elation, shortly followed by a brief swearing fit. The staff dealt with me very well and saw the humorous side of it. I went home about 6 hours after arriving. I'd been signed off work for the first week and returned on a Monday. After two days of walking about at work, I got signed off for another week. My stitched had become infected and walking was agony. This happened I think because of night time erections, and slightly opnened up the scar. My GP gave me some antibiotics which cleared up the infection in 3 days. I was having sex again after a month. I have to say that sex is far, far better than ever before. I never thought the improvement of sensation would be so great! Oh, and boys.... just a quick note, the first time you shoot your load after a month or so off.... expect fire works! it just kept coming and coming.....! | Comments: | Being a female, i chuckled when beginning the process of signing this guest book, because i neither apply to the "circumcised" or "intact" circles above the comments section, so i hope no one minds me putting forth my opinion on this subjest as a woman. I have 3 son's [and 1 daughter], the eldest 2 boys [aged 11 and 9] have both been circumcised and the youngest [aged 2] is yet to be done. My husband is uncircumcised [he is from NZ] and basically refuses to alter his penile appearance. I had countless throat infections over the years, which resulted in a tonsilectomy at 32 [last year] and have had to deal with just as many bouts of thrush in my time with him as well. The uncircumcised penis is not only very unhygenic [and i don't care how many times you wash] but also very visually unappealing [it looks like a dog's dick!!!!]. Foreskins harbour bacteria and they give the penis that horrible "dicky" smell. since having my tonsils out. i have suffered 2 terrible bouts of throat infections and am quite firm in my belief that my husbands uncircumcised penis is the main contributor due to the HPV that uncircumcised men can carry in their foreskins. I have told him in no uncertain terms that there will be no more oral sex for him until he chooses to become educated and read the information that is available about circumcision, rather than be an ignorant jerk off and just say NO. My highest commendations to all men out there who have had the procedure performed as an adult, it would certainly take alot of courage and i sincerely wish you all the very best in your sexual endeavours and in your solo experiences. It wasn't medically essential, but I had it done for several reasons: my foreskin would move back and forth all day trapping and tugging on my pubes (painful!), during sex the movement of the skin over the glans corona could be uncomfortable for me and my partner, the circumcised penis looks much better and is generally more hygenic.
I'm so glad I had it done!! It is amazing!! Sex is much better as is masturbation (there is absolutely NO loss of sensation), it feels and looks great, lots of girls I've spoken to prefer a circumcised penis (in the UK) and an added bonus is that my girlfriend suddenly stopped getting UTI's once I was circumcised! I would totally recommend circumcision, I just wish I hadn't hesitated for so long about getting it done. The procedure (mine was under local) and healing is nowhere near as bad as you may think! |

On the day i was told to go in at 8am, took in about 8.45am, the surgeon came in and explained the whole procedure and i was starting to feel the nerves. At around 10.30am i was taken into theatre,given my anasthtetic (or however you spell it) and i was out for the count. Woke up around 11.30am i woke up from the procedure, feeling like crap because of the anastetic and was up eating toast and drinking tea in no time, then me being a right dobber, started playing my PSP and that then gave me a travel sicknessy feeling and was given a drug to stop it, painful as hell getting it through the IV drip. After that i was sleeping until around 3pm and was let out at 3.45pm. Was picked up by my mum and girlfriend, got home felt quite sick, low and behold i was, all that tea, toast and biscuits the nurses shoved down my throat, but after that i was fine, and started falling asleep, until 12 midnight, then i done my 1st piss, was wierd, pished allover the toilet lol, not used to it coming out like that. but everthings feeling fine, just dreading the shower when the bandage comes off, lets hope it goes ok. It is fair to say i was terrified. Looking on every site for good stories and bad outcomes, percentages, stats all that jazz. I know everyone will have different experiences but mine is 100% good and i would NEVER go back. I was in first thing in the morning and out by 12pm watching DVDs for two days and off uni for a week. If you have any questions for me sign the guestbook and write "To Sean" and i will do my best to answer any question you have. Some decent tips on sleeping and ways of easing the uncomfortablness during the first few weeks. I am doing this because I really wish someone would have told me what to expect and how to get a good outcome. The condition was discovered during a school medical and I was told I had to be circumcised. I was so scared but the op was OK. The period after was a nightmare though! I just couldn't stand having my pants touching my glans and had to wrap it in tissues. It took ages for the sensitivity to go away.
That was all 20 years ago and I've been enjoying all the benefits of being circumcised ever since. I just wish my parents had had it done when I was born then I wouldn't have had to go through the problems with my tight foreskin and the de-sensitising process wouldn't have been such a big deal. Had the operation last week, due to medical reasons. Of course, I had no idea what to expect until I saw your site. It has been of great use to me. So, 1 week gone and my penis resembles a blind cobbler's thumb. Smelling is still pretty bad and night time wood wakes me with great pain. Well I had my circumcision done 3 days ago and so happy I went through with it. It is very sore but looks a hell of alot better. I have had really bad phimosis for as long as I can remember and have never been able to retract not even a few milimeteres. I never thought it would be a problem until I had sex at 17 and it was so uncomfortable and made me really sore, it ruined my first sex experience and have not had sex since because I was so self concious about it. Also the girl I had sex with commented on my tight foreskin and didn't even think it was possible to have sex because of it - I proved her wrong. After that I decided to go to the doctors and he gave me cream and told me to stretch which I heard can work for some people but in mine it didn't I spent 6 months stretching and putting cream on and it did nothing to help. After that it took me months to work up the courage to go through with it as I had never been in hospital before. I also got annoyed with the crap you read on the internet about mutilation and loss of feeling but what alot of people don't understand is like in my case there might be thousands of nerve endings in the foreskin but if you can't retract at all you have no feeling there with oral or anything else anyway so I had nothing to lose! I am glad I found this website as it helped me with the courage to get it done and to learn things about the op. I don't know how you managed to have a bath so quickly though! lol If anyone out there is worried about having it done, don't be it is well worth it and I am looking forward to getting some use out of it, 5 more weeks to go...lol |

I was circ'd a week ago (11/12/08) on the NHS for medical reasons. I stumbled across this page a couple of months ago when i was researching what the procedure was like and when i read what yours was like i found it to be extremly calming as it let me know what i was getting into. I was given a low and tight circ .. yours looks like a high and tight from the pictures. I was originally going to ask for that to be done but i dont like the two toned colouring. Mines is cut about an inch from the head and looks ok im my opinion. My incision line is taking a wee bit longer to heal than what i wouldve hoped for. Im batheing it 3 times a day and its always bandaged but I thought it had actually split so went to the Doc's but he said that it was healing perfectly so im pleased with that. As with everyone else on here i cant wait to try it out for the fist time .. Cut !! |

interesting stuff I don't really like the end result. I was thinking of having it done myself,but your pictures and experience put me off.I though it would be worth it to look prettier , but it looks uglier (in my opinion), I think its something that is done when your born. And If your not circumsised at birth don't both unless it's for health reasons. If you keep your skin back it's just the same as being circumsised. I think too much emphasis is put on being ''cleaner'' when it makes no difference what so ever if your personal hygiene is good anyway. And in regards to sex if you have sex with your skin back its just the same, But you loose the foreskin that has the nerve endings in. You don't feel as much when recieving oral. And a experienced woman would make the skin worth having. And you won't dribble if your skins back you will shoot mate. But if your happier thats sound mate, but I think you should have tried with your skin abit more and enjoyed it, It seems like you though you were destined to be circumsised in a funny kinda way. cheers matt |

| Comments: | You are a brave man, and the photos just after your circumcision look gruesome, but the end result is fine. I had no idea circumcision is such a hot topic, from a human rights and personal choice angle. On the other hand I never felt deprived or hard done by during childhood and adolescence. It never occured to me my parents had taken away a right from me either. My circumcision was done in Melbourne Australia, and I now know done exceptionally well. Slightly lopsided maybe, with more removed on one side than the other, but how many faces are perfectly symetrical? Skin never covers the tip, even in freezing cold, and erect it is tight. Scar tissue is one of the lovely things about my cut, and there is never any doubt I am circumcised. I find the scar one of the most sensitive and erotic parts of my penis, and the main focus for mastabation since childhood. Up to the present my sexual feeelings have been amazing, and I truely and sincerely believe circumcision is the reason, though it is impossible to measure these things of course.
I am curious why medical opinion has gone against this wonderful thing. Could it be post femenism or the male's uncertainty in a gender equal society? It would be nice to see scientific opinion as to what evolutionary function the foreskin may have held, like attraction to mating or dominance in a group. Trouble is, it would only be speculation and hard to proove. Thanks for such a frank forum. |

| Comments: | I had my circumcision on 15/11/2008 under the NHS for medical reasons. I'd always been aware that my foreskin was a bit on the tight side - full retraction was extremely difficult while erect - but in my last relationship I found that I was starting to find sex somewhat uncomfortable at times and noticed that my foreskin was showing signs of external abrassion around the base of the glans.
I was aware that my father had had to be circumcised at the age of 28 and spoke to him about it, which was something of a nerve-wracking conversation to have with the old man! He told me that he had suffered from exactly the same problems as me but that his had gotten worse as he got older and led to his foreskin cracking and splitting, with infection setting in time and time again. He also informed me that he and my mother had tried to get me circumcised shortly after I was born, suspecting that I would suffer from the same difficulties but that they couldn't find a doctor willing to perform the procedure. In any case, in light of the difficulties I had been having and with some helpful comparisons based on my girlfriend's memory I decided to see my doctor about it. I was referred to a urologist who was in no doubt that I should have the procedure. My circumcision was performed under general anaesthetic, something I'm quite glad about, altough it has totally destroyed my sleeping pattern! I went under the knife, so to speak, around 9am in the morning and was revived about 9.45, feeling like I had had a few drinks too many - although bizarrely I mean that in the good way rather than the bad! I felt absolutely nothing for several hours due to being pumped full of local anaesthetic too. When I went home I went to bed and woke up five hours later with a semi-erect and rather quite uncomfortable penis! That said, it wasn't painful. One thing that has surprised me about the whole procedure so far is that it doesn't hurt anywhere near as much as I expected it to. On Day 2 the gauze dressing came off of it's own accord and I was able to see that my penis was rather swollen and bruised - with it being pulled back in by the swelling, it looked almost as wide as it was long! Day 3 was much the same as Day 2, though I had some difficulty managing to pee without spraying everywhere... went for a small walk today and had to turn back in fairly short order as my clothes rubbing against the wound, even through a dressing, was just too uncomfortable. May have over-exerted myself as I bleed a fair bit later on. On Day 4 a lot of the swelling went down and I got a better look at the incision line which was mostly red and angry. The stitches also started to feel quite tight. Noticing a bit of blood oozing and starting to worry about infection. On Day 5 more of the swelling vanished and the stitchs began to prodtrude. I noticed that blood and lymph had encrusted themselves into the stitches, making it pretty uncomfortable if anything made contact with them. Had a long, soaking bath which didn't make a lot of difference. Applied a load of anti-septic cream and a new dressing and hoped for the best. Success on Day 6! The cream helped break down the stuff massing round the stitches which now felt much, much better. Stitches getting caught in my underwear is now coming to be quite an annoyance, especially as the thread seems to meet and knot around my frenulum, leaving two strands poking forward. One of them seems to be doing its utmost to make its way into my urethra whenever possible... my ex-frenulum is also a bit swollen and oozing lymph though from reading this site and other comments that seems par-for-course at this stage so I'm no longer worried. Starting to feel pretty horny and my body decided to respond with the closest I've had to a full erection since the op. Day 7 - today. Swelling receding further, still lymph coming from frenulum area. Am feeling incredibly horny now and am dying to masturbate but know that trying is a really bad idea. I'll give it a week or more, if I can manage! It's hard to get anything done while thinking about sex and what I'd like to do when this thing heals ;) All-in-all, too early to really make a judgement on the experience but it's all gone a lot better than I expected and I just can't wait to be properly sexually functional again. I have to say, that despite the horror stories you hear about the NHS, they were utterly superb for me, both on the day and with aftercare. |
