I was cut one week ago today and I feel like a new man. I was suffering with phimosis issues and found it very difficult to talk about it with my parents or a physician, never mind asking my friends about it. So Finally I got over myself and spoke with my parents first and then my GP. My GP then confirmed my suspected condition of phimosis and referred me to a very good urologist in my area. Just remember you can always trust your parents and your GP deals with situations just like this on a daily basis. There is no need to worry or feel like your the only one with these problems.Your doc may prescribe creams etc. to help loosen the foreskin but in my case that didn't work and I am so glad I got the circumcision. It's more hygienic, cosmetically looks better and feels better. I can now have intimate relationships with girls and have that peace of mind and comfort. This website really helped me a lot and remember its the year 2011 so ignore all that anti-circumcision stuff you might have read on the internet. In the end choose what you know will be best for YOU. |

Has the cut myself 2 weeks ago, after putting it off for years. Was my only option, the ol' foreskin was so tight that i had never seen the head of my John Thomas exposed. Still getting used to it all; the disolavble stitches are still very much in place - hoping they will go soon. | Comments: | I can't understand many of the comments here and I suspect many of these guys are not telling the whole truth about their circumcisions. Either that or they are newly circumcised and it hasn't yet become obvious what they have lost.
Soon the scar area will become much less sensitive and the inner skin and glans will start to keratinise. Then they will discover that they have lost a significant amount of sexual sensitivity in their penises - not just a little, a lot. Possibly enough to result in a degree of sexual dysfunction. The foreskin contains the 'frenar band', which is the primary male sex organ and home to about 80% of the sexual nerve endings on the penis. This is removed during a circumcision. The author of this website needs to provide us with an update. Is he still happy with his decision to be circumcised? Or has the novelty worn off now? The foreskin is there for a reason. Don't cut it off. Phimosis can be cured with more conservative treatments. |

| Comments: | Had the op 2 days ago out of necessity and the discomfort and nagging pain is pretty unpleasant. My nob also looks like a war zone, being swollen, black from bruising and covered in unsightly stitches. Still, it's done and the jobs a good'un. Back to work tomorrow. I can't decide whether or not to dress it. Dressings have a habit of coming off after between 2 seconds and an hour, but it is much more uncomfortable without. An unexpected side effect is that the pain killers I've been given are playing havoc with my guts and I feel like dumping about 8 times a day but when I get there can only manage a wet fart. Feeling altogether a bit miserable. Will try white wine (it's all Ive got) and see if that helps. Night time semi's are agony, requiring instant softening - a trip to the toilet normally does it and the prospect of an uncontrollable full erection is terrifying. Cheers everyone |

I did lots of searches and a few weeks ago had the circumcision done by www.circumsurgeons.com. The scar looks so much better you can hardly see the cut, although still slightly swollen I am really pleased with my result. I regret not having gone to a done in the first place and still kicking myself for what I could have done to myself, life long regret. Well after reading them, i got up the nerve to see my doctor, to tell him i had phimosis and that i think i need to be cut. So after seeing the doctor he refereed me to the surgeon, he checked me out and he also thought i needed it.
So at age 25 i had my surgery. its been a little over a year now and i cant be any happier!. i was always worried i was gonna make the wrong decision cause of what people online say (the ones against it) but im glad i went through with it, sex and masturbation is 10 times better, it looks a lot better, feel cleaner. surgery was very quick, and healing wasn't to bad, it was hard to walk for me for the 1st 4-5 days cause it was so sensitive, but the perks made it a lot better! haha. anyways i wanted to post to give my story, to let ya know its not a bad idea to so it, it dosnt ruin feeling (i have more feeling now!) and that if you wish to ask me anything about it feel free too, i dont mind. enjoy! |

| Comments: | Congrtulations Dan, you've taken a perfectly healthy penis and paid someone to destroy it. Did you know about the Frenar Band before you operation? It's a part of the foreskin that contains 20,000 of the approximately 24,000 sexual nerve endsing on the penis - that's about 80%!! It's not just losing a little bit of sensitivity, it's a lot, and your sensitivity will become more and more diminished with age as the glans and inner skin grows a protective layer of skin on them. You might view the reduction in sensitivity as a positive thing now you are a young man but with age this may well translate into sexual dysfunction. Have a look into 'foreskin restoration' if and when you decide you've had enough of being circumcised (although unfortunatley you probably won't ever get the frenar band back again. Besh wishes and I'm only sory you've made this mistake. |

| Comments: | I was circumcised when I was 59, wanted to get done for ages, then one day my frenulum tore badly, it healed but I had a lot of skin hanging down behind my penis. Decided to go private and found the 'Circumcision Clinic, the nearest was Luton, duly went over there paid £400 for the op (both my wife and myself agree it was the best £400 ever spent) I had no pain and the doctor explained all the time what he was doing,after the op he made sure I was OK before he let me go home. I did not take any pain killers and went back to work the next day, had absolutely no problems.
My wife likes me being circumcised, sex is so much better, it was good before but wow afterwards, all the tales you hear about loss of feeling are totally unfounded, you can really feel your partner. If there are people out there who can't decide to go for it, take my advice, do what I did and get yourslf circumcised believe me you will not regret it. |

No recollection of much pain, just a little blood and astonishment at seeing my exposed glans and or the first time. Now I suddenly looked like my school friends, about half of whom were cut at birth back then. Hitherto I just thought they were born that way. I had assumed the same of my dad who was also circumcised.
My penis healed rapidly in days and I was happy with the new improved appearance. I was cut well back with hardly any slack and this tightened though and after puberty leaving no moveable skin when erect and a very prominent glans. Distant memory was of my penis feeling very strange at first and it took years to get used to the rubbing of the exposed glans on underwear as I walked or ran. Something of which I am still slightly aware to this day if I think about it. Only moments of concern were initially when I moved schools at 11 had to take the first showers after PT. As we undressed, shock! All the boys around me seemed to have foreskins! Then, as we queued some boys ran back from the showers and I spotted others who had been cut and became relaxed about my status. It turned out half the boys were 'done' so no one was seriously teased in whichever group they belonged. I received no information or explanation from parents as to why I was circumcised. They only said "it's better for you like that…and you'll understand when you are older!" This was puzzling. If it was 'better for you' Why wasn't every boy done? Later when hormones kicked in and sex dominated my thoughts I worried how the girls would react to my missing foreskin and whether it would diminish my and their sexual experience. After all I reasoned nature didn't intend my penis to be like that, did it?. My concern proved unfounded. The few opinions I had before marriage and that of my wife were all positive; 'more hygienic, ergo healthier and it looks better. After that I never looked back. It was our particular wish that both our boys be circumcised. Much to our chagrin and frustration this was thwarted by the total opposition of several in the medical profession caring for us at the time. Sadly this negative attitude to circumcision still prevails everywhere in the UK. |

| Comments: | I was circumcised at age 42. I had worn the foreskin retracted since about age 12 quite successfully but decided to have a surgical trim.
A noticeable benefit was that the coronal rim experienced a lot more sensuousness with any type of stimulation. It turns out that the skin near the corona and the area deeper there has a lot to do with triggering the final orgasm. Dr Taylor has stated that when that skin is stretched and friction applied it has a lot to do with pushing things beyond the point of inevitability. Since the circ was a relatively loose one I was able to experiment with keeping the glans covered when I had read so much stuff on the web about foreskin restoration. In a week or so the glans got shiny, moist, pinker, with a tendency to feel "wimpy"! I had trouble with some odor developing which could not be controlled even washing more than once a day. The residual drops of urine just marinates into the skin and stays and gets smellier. I stopped the experiment and enjoy seeing that nice cockhead. My sons were circumcised. My grandsons 4 were circumcised, 3 not. My greatgrandsons: one for sure circumcised, one probably circumcised, one probably not circumcised. Had the cut just under a month ago and things are going great. I must say the first week was hell, but could have been better had the nurses given me a proper "post-care" brief. I was told that when i wanted to take the bandage off i must soak it in luke-warm water. This is correct but i was not told WHEN, and what ointment to apply etc. So i took it off after 2 days instead of a week. But hey, its been good since. I am wanting to ask a question though. I have some fleshy bumps on the suture wound that im wandering if and when they will go away... or whether my skin will be smooth ever there? Can anyone help me? Thanks. |

There are a lot of anti-circ websites/groups out there with mis-leading names like "Circumcision Information Resource Page" which purport to be neutral on the outside, but is full of anti-circ propaganda. How any group can call themselves an information resource and yet only show one side of the story is beyond me... I don't even understand the hidden agenda, apparently something that is a personal choice (for adult males that is) is not supposed to be??
Anyways I'm getting circumcised to treat my phimosis next Monday Dec 20th. | Comments: | Was circ'd 4 days ago under a general anaesthetic, due to phimosis caused by BXO. About 4 years ago I was told that a circ was probably the way to go, but wasn't necessary at that stage. As I had some psychological attachment to my foreskin, I didn't do it, but about 3 weeks ago got really annoyed at the tight foreskin and occasionally painful sex, so went and had the circ. The day after the op it felt like a papercut all the way around the cut and this lasted a couple of days. Paracetamol dulled the annoying pain and now it is just a low-level throb. The worst thing is that any rubbing at all against my underpants is painful, so I pad with cotton wool! Much more comfortable. Gotta wait for the skin on the head to toughen up a bit! I changed the dressing after two days (took over 45 minutes to carefully get it off - ow!), but now it really isn't so bad. The shaft is quite bruised, but is also healing. Today the itching started, which is the healing process. Overall, it is such a relief to have finally gotten it done and I do wish I had done it a couple of years ago! |

The surgeons were fantastic they still used soluable stitches but have a new glue they were using instead of bandage. I had a penal block (Local). Two surgeons had it all done in 20 minutes. | Comments: | I was circumcised just last week, in fact today is day 7 for me. I was circumcised as an infant, but it was probably only a partial circumcision, and as it healed, parts of my foreskin grew onto the head of my penis. When flaccid, the foreskin would still roll over the head entirely, but it was attached to the underside and tapered along the sides of my penis. The foreskin on top of my penis could still be fully retracted. I had always felt normal about it, until about a year ago when I tore the adhesion a couple of millimeters on the side.
It hurt so I left it alone for 4 days, but from then on, it would always tear in the same spot and re-heal. Over time I noticed it was healing tighter and tighter, and I knew I had to do something about it, so I contacted a doctor for an assessment and he said he could cut the adhesions away and give me a proper circumcision! So here I am today, I found your journal because I was wondering how my recovery would pan out. Of course, my case is a bit different, because foreskin had to be cut away from the head, so I have to wear bandages longer to let the surface skin heal up. Thank you for sharing your experience, it really helps my perspective of where I am in my recovery, and I can't wait to be able to use it again, especially with my sudden increase in sensitivity! |

| Comments: | To juan. I honestly don't know the difference since I was cut at birth. I never felt that I miss something and I am pretty happy by what I have. I have read yet about many adults who got circumcised at adult age both for medical and aesthetic reasons. I can tell you that most of them did not experience a worsening in the sensations and some report even better sensations. All of these point to the fact that they, after circumcision, experience more of the female body. They report increased friction and enjoyment.Many of them find the new sensations as better than the gliding into foreskin at out-stroke. Many say they don't regret the decision at all and that they are puzzled by the claims of reduced enjoyment by anti-circ organisations. I hope this provides an answer. God bless you! |

I am in the second category having first had the procedure at age 36 and almost a year ago having had a revision by Dr Z to deal with some stretching that had occured over the years. Dr Z is FANTASTIC! everything you and others say about their experience with him and his team is true and I recommend anyone wanting to have a circumcision or a revision to hesitate no longer you are unlikely to find anyone better. Do not have any fears of discomfort, embarrassment or sexual regret - it is a cakewalk and you will find it a great new chapter in your life.
Your site is a a most welcome counter balance to the anti- circ fraternity who as you say - too gently I might add - frequently deal in distortion and untruths which are not helpful to parents trying to make a good decision for their sons. For those cut in infancy and perhaps inclined to a victim complex it is not helpful either. I was glad to see one of your respondents who in that regard found your site reassuring having been persuaded by it that he was not a victim after-all. As you can tell based on my own experience I am a strong supporter of circumcision - always assuming it is done competently of course - and feel its benefits deserve to be very more widely promoted. |

| Comments: | I had my circ about 6 years ago. I always thought that having sex was uncomfortable, but somehow got into a discussion with a frirnd of mine who had had the op several years earlier. Well I thought nothing ventured, etc. so asked why he had his op. and asked if I could look exactly what was done. He had no problem at all showing me his op. and exactly what happened. I went saw my doctor, explained my problem which was a short frelum. I had to wait approx. 6 months but was eventually given day surgery at my local hospital. It has been great ever since....you have to use lube for wanking, but thats no problem, in fact its better. I would like about 5mm of skin tightning where the frenlum used to be as my gland now is slightly facing upwards when I have an erection, but otherwise, a very worthwhile decision, I think. Excellent website, and thanks for being brave enough to show everthing, and to document it. |

So it's been about a month and a half since the op and everything seems to have healed up quite nicely :) My supposedly dissolvable sutures were, unfortunately, an absolute pain in the arse so I ended up having to see the doctor and asking him to remove them. I've been left with some suture marks since they were in for too long, but they really don't look that bad - nothing horrifyingly noticeable at all, probably wouldn't even notice unless you gave my cock a real good stare and somehow I don't think the ladies will be examining it with a magnifying glass so all is fine as far as I'm concerned! :P Masturbation slightly more difficult for me, though my masturbation method was a tad unorthodox when I had my foreskin 'cos of phimosis and whatnot, so that's probably why. No noticeable loss of sensitivity and even if there was, I really wouldn't care - I'd rather lose a bit than have none at all during sex like I did when I had my foreskin! No regrets for me. Circ was the only option left to me and it seems to have sorted out my sexual health problems once and for all! Looks good, feels good, all's good! Sore for about the first week and a bit, after that it was fine. Had to wear briefs for about 2 weeks to get my penis used to being exposed, after that I was fine wearing my normal boxers as usual. Only difficult part was the whole lack of masturbation thing...which brings me to my next point - BE PATIENT! Don't rush things, else you might bugger up the healing a bit and prolong things like I did. Take your time with it - if there's pain, leave it alone! It really isn't worth it. I'd say just take the plunge and go for it - when all is healed, it's totally worth it. :) |

Intro: I'm 26 years of age and I have always had a tight foreskin for the majority of my life. I couldn't pee straight as the foreskin was in the way - it would either spray or pee in 2 lines which was messy. I also had to wear toilet paper in my underpants full time to absorb any leftover urine as it was apparently being trapped by the foreskin, it was a very embarrassing problem and decided to go to the doctor about it this year. He said those 2 things were caused by the tight foreskin, (Phimosis I believe?) and said it would be recommended to have a circumcision. I could masturbate comfortably without any pain as I probably had a lot of loose skin to glide it over the gland while the tip of the foreskin stayed on top. Any attempt to pull it back was painful. About 8 years ago I pulled it right back in a bathtub and couldn't get it back up again, I panicked a lot until I could get it rolled up again, the pain wasn't something I wanted to experience again. I suppose I was lucky enough to not get an infection or any cheese smell, the gland has never been washed for the last several years Operation: I went in for my circumcision at 11am on the 2nd of December and was kept in overnight, I never did see my nervousness coming when I was being bed-trolley'd to the operating theatre, ended up with shaking legs and being terrified :) I was kept in overnight so the doctors could be sure everything was fine, and I'm glad they decided that. The bandage was wrapped round my penis, so any attempt to pee soaked up the bandage in urine, I even left it like that for 2 hours cos I was embarrassed about it then a nurse changed the bandage. In the morning the bandage was taken off and replaced with a gauze pad that you can just lay over on top of your penis with so it's not in contact with the underpants clothing. Post-Op I'm taking my co-codamol every 6 hours (rather than 4) so I can cover a full 24 hours duration as it's only limited to 4 doses a day. I wake up at 6am for a pee and for the next dose then go back to sleep. My dose intake is at 12pm, 6pm, 12 midnight, 6am, and I sleep from 2am to 11am. The pain is not as bad as I expected, thought it would be a lot worse, it's the discomfort that's more of a problem with the sensitive gland being exposed, I'm occasionally twitching if it touches something or I'm thinking about it. It's also difficult taking off the gauze pad when needing to pee as it sticks to the "jap's eye" of the gland as I feel a tearing feeling, I'm still sceptical about putting Vaseline on the tip to ease the removing of the pad. Still going to continue using a pad for a few more days until I'm comfortable with my penis to be touching clothing. I'm also bathing every day with Johnson's Baby Bath ever since my operation passed 48 hours. I'm going to start adding salt to my bath from tomorrow onwards to speed up healing, as I'm a smoker and the nicotine is reducing healing by 50%. Right now I'm dealing with constipation, I have not been for 4 days now and I'm feeling uncomfortable, the last time I went was before the operation. I've took a Senokot yesterday morning to no effect so I took another one this morning. My advice to anyone about to have it done: get your hair around it trimmed a bit! Including the top part of your ballsack, I wasn't told of this and I'm constantly getting hair tangled around the wound, although I have tried to trim some carefully. |

Still haven't lost any stitches, unfortunately, though I've read they can take up to three weeks to come out and they're gradually getting looser so hopefully I'll lose at least a few of them soon! The only thing that's driving me NUTS is the lack of masturbation - the only reason I haven't gone for it yet is because full-blown erections are still very tight and I don't want to risk tearing the incision line on ejaculation...meh. Must fight the temptation! Otherwise, things are well. Hypersensitivity has gone down enough for me to comfortably wear boxers out and about again which is pleasing! Bruising has cleared up very well, swelling has more or less gone down entirely. Just wish these bloody stitches would come out... Also, just a quick one for any students like me - I was out clubbing and getting drunk (as per usual!) about three or four days after the op and I've read stories of people who've gone out clubbing the very next day, so don't worry about your social life being dented haha! |

Dr Zarifa is exactly how you described, calm, funny and professional. Sylvia was great and helpful especially in organising the process. i think I am healing well if I follow your healing process (i know its different with people) you have a great site that helps prepare for the healing a few blood spots and draining. My biggest issue with the procedure was the injection for the nerve bloke, the though of someone sticking a needle in your D*** had 2 weeks of sleepless nights, but Dr Zarifa cracked a few jokes and the next minute it was numb didn't feel a thing... I have felt no pain at all, except those blistering night jaunts... but i can say that in 4 nights it is gone and you get a full blown rise with no pain at all.... remember no pain no gain. |

I'm now officially 4 days post circumcision. To be honest, I haven't experience a great deal of pain. The first night my friend was still numb/anaesthesised after the local block that the anaesthesist put there. The following morning the jockstrap with briefs over that made a big difference. As mentioned before by you and others making sure that your fella doesnt rock about makes a world of difference. The first few days I took the full whack of pain meds that I was prescribed, now by day four a little bit less or only when I go and do something. The swelling is slowly getting less, there's still some ooze of lymphatic fluid and one stitch came off with a speck of blood. The biggest problem is now that I'm BORED. I want this hypersensitivity and having to be careful to pass so I can do what I want again. This is probably where your website helped most: i have to bare in mind that there will probably be no playing for the 2 weeks? Ugh. Keep me posted, I like reading everyone's experiences. :-) L. |

Yeah, it's perfectly normal for your penis to hurt when it rubs against your boxers. Basically, your glans needs time to get used to being outside the foreskin. After 2-3 weeks, this'll probably go away. In the meantime, I've found that briefs help to ease the pain - keeps your penis from getting bobbed about everywhere! And yeah, the bleeding you've described is also normal, especially if you've only had it done yesterday! The stitches should more or less come out on their own. DON'T try and directly pull any out - if you see one loose that just won't budge, you might need to give it a *gentle* helping hand, but don't straight try and pull one out that's still fixed; they should just come loose when they're ready :) Hope that's helped! -Louis |

| Comments: | Hey, was gonna post a full update for second day but there's not much to say (obviously) and I don't want to turn this guestbook into my own circumcision diary, but let me just say this:
BRIEFS ARE AN ABSOLUTE LIFESAVER! Walking and sitting down was an absolute tirade in boxers. Briefs make life so much easier - the penis gets the support it needs, no pain from it banging about all over the place. My overall self-esteem has improved too - don't feel like such a freak walking really slow and carefully all the time. Anyone considering circumcision, stock up on some briefs for the recovery! Makes getting life back to normal MUCH easier. |
