| Comments: | I have stayed in many hotels/hostels in my time and this place was definitely the worst by a long way.
The rooms are tiny but manage to cram 4 of you in there, and they charge 50 euro per night for the pleasure. We stayed there for 3 nights only because Scotland was playing and everywhere else was booked up. Every morning we had to go down stairs to ask to get the hot water turned on The breakfast was terrible and I still don’t know why but we decided to pay for supper there one night – the steak pie was like soup. |

Cheers folks we’ll definitely be back for another repeat visit at some point, you just can’t beat the Irish for hospitality, Nellys is just iconic in it’s own right. Aye up t’decorator from the wrong side of t’pennines and his Glaswegian kidder, you might have won curry capital of the year but Yorkshire will always be God’s own County! |

| Comments: | Stayed at Nelly's twice now and both times had a fantastic time. All the Nelly's staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. The rooms (the first time 7 of us stayed in the 14 bed room - the second 8 of us stayed in the ten bed room) and both times the rooms were neat, tidy and clean. You can hear nothing of the pub downstairs in the room which is nice when you're stoned/drunk and need to sleep! Downstairs, Nellys is a very, very nice pub with great food! best onion rings, ever! ;) Just a shame it's so far away otherwise I think we'd be in there every day! Special mention to Jim who helped us sort the bookings out. He made it very easy and go back to me quickly via email. Long Live Nelly's! |

1 All rooms with descriptions [ie smoking/non smoking] are detailed on our website /our booking page and on the confirmation email you receive. 2There is a returnable security deposit of 5 euro for towels NOT a charge.Once you return the towel you receive the 5 euro back.You can change your towel for a fresh one each day also.This info is listed in 5 languages in every room and all the hallways plus you are informed of this on arrival. 3Regarding security we think for the safety of our guests it's a good idea for us to check our guests hostel cards and to have a security door that only guest can get through.It's a lot better than our staff on each shift trying to memorise everyones face.We also have a FREE 24 hr safe for our guests valuables. 4 Again on our webpage etc it is stated that the private rooms don't have lockers. 5 Your suggestion of a toaster for breakfast is a good one and we have now allocated 4 toasters for breakfast use.We feel we provide a good Dutch continental breakfast and from Mon to Thurs we also offer a full irish breakfast for 5 euro[normally 9 euro] to our guests[advertised in each room. - No smoking in the rooms (was not in the description), BREAKFAST is ugly and not large (no toaster for the bread, ugly bad ham, green cooked eggs, you have to pay for milk or juce) For towels you have to pay. The room was horrible!!!!! No cupboard, no coat hooks, the room was too small for 4 people, beds were dusty!!! Very thin walls - you can hear everything through!! The staff is not very friendly!! If you want to go to your room you have to show a stupid card or you have to wait for a few minutes till someone gets the feeling to open the door for you. All in all i just can say - this place is too expensive for a funny nice stay in Amsterdam. I had expected more, cause I knew an other hostel which was directly in the bar area - this was much more better. |

Had the pleasure to stay at Nelly's for a week. Would have stayed longer but they had other bookings. Very nice place, great breakfast and one of the barmaids called me by my first name every time she saw me. Very nice! I hope they let me stay again next trip even though I was not a regular patron of the bar! !! ;) Thanks, F |

On hearing the news tears came to my eyes and my legs filled with jelly. Dave to me was a great guy. Very kind and care free guy that loved to have a laugh.
