| Comments: | HI ya Dan,
I talked to Dave Farner and he gave me the name of your band and how to get ahold of you. I'm glad that I got this opprotunity to visit your website and listen to your bands wonderful music. Hey it's better than killing chickens isn't it? hahaha Anyways, I just started to get into music again like I should have done about 20 years ago when I set my guitar, mandolin, and harp down. This was due to a sickness that got the best of me...Major Depression and Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome. I have always been bipolar. I guess that's why I was always looking for attention and acted weird sometimes. Things have changed though Dan. I am taking the proper medication and have matured immensely...I can still be a card though sometimes...lol. I am so proud of you Dan ... on how you took your talent that God gave you and used it even though you and your brother Dave relied on each other when I first met you in 1973. You were very poor but you didn't let that stop you. You went to college got your degree and became a teacher of something that you have always loved...music. That to me has got to be very rewarding to you. So many things have happened to me since I have seen you last. I was an artist in the Air Force for a bout 7 years, worked at two sign shops, worked at IBP,worked for the USDA for many years, had my own Portrait Business and did free lance art. As a matter of fact I just retired last August. Just lately I bought an Ibanez six string electric with a whammy bar, a Fender 12 string, an Ibanez accoustic/electric guitar, an electric keyboard, a electic mandolin, a couple of amps, mic stands and mics, and 8 track mixing board (I just have to figure out how to operate it...lol) and of course, a couple of new Lee Oscar harmonicas. I'm just starting to get into it again. I have been playing songs that I have written in the seventies as well as some in the eighties. I haven't written any since. I have even written some gospel songs. I am married to my 4th wife and have 3 children (grown up) two boys and a mentally challenged girl. Caleb and Carissa are twins and they are twenty four now while Josh is 22. I have gained about 100 pounds since I have seen you last and I have a gohtee (I use to have a beard). I am married now to a wonderful, caring woman. She is 8 years older than me but Dan she treats me like a king. I sure hope you are doing well in health and emotional well being. I miss the old days with our all night parties at your old house that you were renting, with Steve Hobbs, Dave Farner, you and your brother, and whoever showed up. Nice memories! Take care of yourself and when I can get my calluses back on my fingers and learn how to make some special effects on my mixing board and musical instruments ... I'll send you a CD, but for now, since I'm retired, I'm just going to keep on practicingt. Oh I have to finish up doing the animation for the children's book that I have written..."The Island of Gork". Dan please take care of yourself and be happy. Maybe someday we'll get together again, pick up our guitars and maybe then, play the same old songs we use to play.......oh wouldn't it be great if we were playing today. A friend always, Steve Casey |

| Comments: | Wow, just listened to Dan’s collection of songs posted on this very Web for your downloading in MP3 and an opportunity to review each one. I sure couldn’t pass this up.
So I begin ‘Don’t Stop Dreamin’ , pretty intro, nice strummin guitars, really clean and smooth leads sprinkled in. The vocals seem to need a little more volume or preferably a little more power. I know he’s got it, I’ve heard it. ‘Super destroyer #2’, cute fun song. Something you could dance to and have a good time. The fiddle always seems to get em goin. Probably wouldn’t change anything. ‘It must Be’ er opps ‘Same Colors’ a pretty and mellow number, kind of reminds me of some of the Badfinger stuff. Some of you might remember them. Didn’t George help them get started? ‘Just to Keep’ Wow they just keep coming, kind of a proclamation excitement in this one. Not only that but there’s some red hot guitar licks. I’m thinking maybe ‘Start Again’ is my favorite of the Five. See, there is more power in that voice. If I was to change anything it would be turn that voice loose just a little more. ‘Manipulation’ A rockin good time. The mix is good, the vocals out there, a little darker than the rest but it kept my attention. It pushes you. There you have it. It’s easy who’s next? |
