I would also like to suggest you to listen to Ricchi e Poveri “Come Vorrei” original song of 1982 (not the mix of 2002) to inspire you for Olympics maybe. I could not find it on the web but I found midi versions. AP Friday, Mar. 26, 2004 Dubreuil and Lauzon finish eighth By BEVERLEY SMITH From Saturday's Globe and Mail Dortmund, Germany —— The legendary, perfect mark of 6.0 took a drubbing last night at the world figure skating championships, slipping like lost gold through judges' fingers at the ice dancing final. Those associated with the sport expect 6.0s to disappear when the International Skating Union votes in June to accept a new judging system. But last night, judges offered up 12 of them in the free dance. Nine went to gold medalists Tatiana Navka and Roman Kostomarov of Russia, two to silver medalists Albena Denkova and Maxim Staviyski of Bulgaria, and one to Kati Winkler and Rene Lohse of Germany in front of a capacity crowd at the Westfalenhallen. Rarely has a 6.0 fallen into the hands of silver and bronze medalists. The perfect mark still has a capacity to wrench emotion out of the people who get them, the people who give them and the crowd. Navka saw the 6.0s and tears streamed down her cheeks. Her coach and husband, Alexander Zhulin, was not far off. He said afterward he was emotional, almost too emotional to speak. All three medalists from the pairs event earlier this week also earned 6.0s, with champions Shen Xue and Zhao Hongbo of China getting 12 of them. They were so superb, no one could argue with their perfect marks. But only a few weeks ago at the European championships, many judges behind the scenes were saying this group of ice dancers isn't as strong as in years past, and none of them are worthy of more than 5.8. Last night, an informal poll of skaters and coaches revealed that many thought the anonymous judges didn't get it right, and they much preferred the Bulgarians, who wove a mood with their classical routine in a haunting minor key. And the results, in general, surprised some. Canadian champions Marie-France Dubreuil and Patrice Lauzon of Montreal skated off the ice in a subdued mood with an eighth-place finish. As for the other Canadians, Megan Wing and Aaron Lowe of Vancouver finished 11th, while Joséée Pichéé of Le Gardeur, Que., and Pascal Denis of Repentigny, Que., were 23rd in their world championship debut. Perhaps most surprising of all, judges dropped Dubreuil and Lauzon behind Israeli skaters Galit Chait and Sergei Sakhnovski, who have been sinking down the standings since their controversial bronze medal at the 2002 world championships in Nagano. Chait's father, Boris, told the Jerusalem Post earlier this week, "We know we have a problem with some of the judges, and we have been in contact with the referees and all we can do is wait for the next segment." Muriel Boucher-Zazoui, who coaches Dubreuil and Lauzon, said she doesn't understand why the Canadians were placed behind the Israelis. "I am very disappointed," she said. "[Dubreuil and Lauzon] skated very well. Their technical is very high. For me, there is no comparison between the two. "I hope the next year, the new judging system will arrive," she said. "I am sure with the new system, Dubreuil and Lauzon will take some very good marks." Boucher-Zazoui said she preferred the Bulgarians to the Russians because their technique was one of the best. She said there was very little difference between the top eight couples. Igor Shpilband, coach of U.S. champions Tanith Belbin and Benjamin Agosto, who finished fifth, said the dance event was the best he'd seen at a world championship. But he, too, preferred the Bulgarians over the Russians. "Everybody have their own preferences but to me, the Bulgarians were best by far," he said. "I see great quality in Navka and Kostomarov. They have very clean exhibition of elements. "It was a breathtaking performance," he said. "They give everything they could. It's a good program with a lot of connection moves. ..... They create an atmosphere, which to me was spectacular." Dubreuil and Lauzon were sombre off the ice. "We beat the Israelis at Skate Canada even with a fall because our free dance is so much higher technically than theirs," Dubreuil said. "We believe that we are very strong skaters.
