Can't believe you have Stick Figure Neighbourhood, I've been looking for this albumn since forever. Please fix track 1 and 3. Great site. Fantastic.

Thursday, May 25th 2006 - 08:54:20 PM

Track 1 and 3 are not online as they can be purchased on "collectible spoons". Gord was ok with anything on the site as long as it wasn't available (which is basically everything on Collectible Spoons and Arias and Symphonies).

Will be sure to post photos, etc from The Spoons show in Stratford on June 17th! Hope to see you out!

Tuesday, June 20th 2006 - 09:16:10 AM

I was at the Stratford show on June 17/05 with a friend. The show was awesome though there are some things that could have been better. The lighting wasn't the best and there were a lot of problems with the video screens. They could have just done without them. They performed a great mix of songs, but they played Nova Heart and Romantic Traffic TWICE. They could have thrown in a couple more songs from Vertigo Tango instead. And I have mixed feelings on their cover versions of a few '80s songs. It was fun, but I wanted to hear SPOONS songs. I think they were trying to cater to the crowd that was there. It was a high school reunion, and probably the majority of them were just there to party and see their friends and not really see the show. I thought some of the spectators were a bit disrespectful dancing around with their backs to the band and getting too drunk. Overall though, I had a great time, they sounded amazing, and I am very glad to have seen them again.

Hi:Everybody. I'm so gald to see a Spoons fan site up & running again. I have been a Spoons fan for many years and can't wait to see them at any shows they do in the Toronto area. I like may other Spoons fans were disappointed that their entire back catalog has not been re-issued. so like a true die hard I took a sealed copy of Bridges over Borders to a local pro recording studio and had it remastered using digital equipment then transfered to cd. the cd turned out real good as it should have for $120.00 I have original cd's of Collectible Spoons, Arias & Symphonies, Vertigo Tango, a Anthem records promo cd of two versions of the song Waterline as well as a cd copy of Stick figure Neighbourhood, that was copied from cassette. I also have double copies of all the spoons lp's on vinyl. Take care... Bruce Hale. Toronto.ont. yyz@idirect.com

I thought the article with Sandy Horne was a great story, but sad at the same time. you would think with the popularity of 80's music that some other record label would pick up the rights to the Spoons music & re-issue it on cd. The Spoons made such great music & it's a real shame that the masters are rotting away somewhere because of contractual red tape. This might sound dumb but if I ever came into a large sum of money or won a lottery I would open my own record label & re-issue the Spoons music as well as other great tunes from Canadian bands that are currently not available. Here's a thought, if every Spoons fan could donate say $5.00 or $10.00 to a Save the Spoons music fund then we could send the money to Sandy to have the Spoons music re-issued. Just and idea... Take care all. Bruce Hale.

Great site, thanks for putting some of the missing Spoons music back in orbit! These songs sound every bit as fantastic as when I first heard them. I'm heading off in search of the DVD this week -- long live the Spoonerhythm Network!!! -Dan from Winnipeg

Hi:Fellow Spoons fans. I don't know if anyone else is having this problem or not but I can't find a copy of the new Spoons live dvd in any retail store in Toronto. I went to Hmv, Sam the record man, Sunrise records, Music world as well as several video stores but no luck. I have seen them on the internet on several sites but I don't like buying items over the net. !!! Bruce.

I really hope this excitment from the DVD catches fire and we get to see a few new Spoons shows and hopefully a new a album would be great. I have Collectible Sppons on CD and listen to it all the time. I wish more of the Spoons albums could be released on CD. Glad to hear the band is reforming. Many thanks for this website as it will save me the trouble of digitizing my albums.

Great to find this site. I've been a Spoons fan since 1980, when I heard a cassette of the band that belonged to Rob Shepherd, brother of the band's original drummer. I've just been watching the live concert DVD tonight and poking around on the web for Spoons material. Keep up the great work! David Zimmerly Ottawa

Hi: Everybody, I have been a Spoons fan for many years as well and I think it's such a shame that the folks at Anthem records can't just re-issue Bridges over borders, and Vertigo tango. I know there's a lot of red tape but it's so inexpensive to re-issue older material now that one would figure they would be thinking of the money that could be made but such releases and not play the games that record lablels do. I guess we can just keep wishing. HAPPY NEW YEAR - Sandy,Gord, & the rest of the Spoons.... Bruce Hale. Toronto.

What a pleasure. Always loved this band and only now came up with the brilliant idea of googling them. A great website. Love their music. Nova Heart cannot be beat; the album Listen to the City" remains a favourite. I saw them at the Union at McGill in 1984 and remember it well as one of the best concerts I saw in university. Great music, clearly having fun on stage, interacting nicely with the crowd. Looking forward to more visits.... Steve in Ottawa

Greetings, Happy to stumble onto this site. I recorded the Spoons live several times in their heyday ( including both shows on the new DVD back when I owned Comfort Sound Mobile). Great music, and always pleasant people to work with. While helping Tony Malone from the Drastic Measures track down old material, I came across a very early Spoons City Tv Simulcast from March, 1981. They were one of four bands playing on the show, which was called "March Hop Jump", and also feautred Toby Swann, The Sharks, and Drastic Measures. It was recorded at the Concert Hall in Toronto (now MTV's Canadian Headquarters.) CITY TV still has the masters (they never throw anything out) and they ran a dvd for Tony, so I have the Spoons footage as well. Alan Cross at CFNY managed to find a 1980 Drastic Measures live broadcast master tape, so maybe teh Spoons masters are also still around. Gord or Rob might want to talk to him about tracking down those tapes. They should also talk to Ross Davies at CHUM, and Andy Frost at Q107 both of whom were at those stations in the 80's and still work there. I'm pretty sure the CHUM tapes would be in their archives. I recorded the following Spoons shows with the Comfort Sound Mobile: Mar 21/81 City-TV/CHUM-FM simulcast at the Concert Hall (March Hop Jump) June 20/82 CHUM-FM live broadcast, El Mocambo Aug 6/82 Q107 live broadcast, Larry's Hideaway Oct 29/82 City/Chum simulcast, The Concert Hall 1983 Supposed to record a show at Maple Leaf Gardens, but recording was cancelled due to excessive union costs Oct 15/83 CFNY-FM live broadcast, The Concert Hall April 2/84 one song at the CFNY U-Know Awards, Royal York Hotel Dec 9, 1984 MuchMusic Big Ticket Special, Spectrum, Montreal March 30/89 CFNY-FM Live broadcast, The Diamond The public deserves to hear some of these shows. I'm glad MuchMusic is issuing the retro series. Regards, Doug McClement LiveWire Remote Recorders, Toronto

I love you guys so much. I remember when you played at my godfathers bar in Moncton, NB back in the 80's. Ziggy's was the name of the bar, I was way too young to get it but you all signed one of your posters for me and I still have it. Thanks for the great music, you're still top of my list when it comes to favorites!!! Stephanie Mann
