|Comments:||My family also lived in the Reedy Creek area of old Mecklenburg County. My ancestral surnames, from that area, include Dixon/Dickson, Caldwell, Morrison, Alexander, Cochran, Davis, Hunter, McEwen, Neel, Orr, Query, and White. I descend from John Dixon who was born in Mecklenburg/Cabarrus county around 1750 and married Elizabeth McEwen. I recently received the church records from Back Creek Presbyterian Church - where many of these people are buried. If anyone is interested, I am happy to share. Also, if anyone has information about Margaret Davis who married Hugh Dickson in the early 1800's, I would be most appreciative.

I'm from the confusing lineage of Purviance in Old Mecklenburg and Old Anson county NC. and at a name change crossroad. Alfred Pervines was born in Mecklenburg co although I can't find records except family bible. Apparently fires in the early 1815-20 destroyed them. Alfred Married Lucretia Proper and Lucretia is buried at Weddington Cem. along with my Davis ancestors. My surnames are Davis,Pervines,Tomberlin and Harkey around Sandy Ridge township 1813 to 1899. Alfred had a sister Emily Purviance. See the name chang? Any and all help pushing me in the proper direction is appreciated before all of my hair is pulled out. :) Thank You Marty R

In 1920 H. L. Morrow Aircraft Corp was located in Charlotte. My dad, A. Maurice Palm, was chief pilot. I believe they sold rides and dropped advertising leaflets at fairs.
My dad and Mr. Herron leased a Curtiss Jenny Airplane and started the Carolina Flyers. Dad hit a telephone pole while landing the plane in the air field near the Plasa in Chatham estates. The plane was sent back to its owner and dad was out of business. I have pictures, newspaper articles and memos. Would be glad to share.

|Comments:||I am looking for anyone related to the family of John Andrew Wilson and Essie Bigham Wilson, both of whom are buried in Steele Creek Presbyterian Cemetery. I know Essie's parents and paternal grand-parents names, but that is really it. Nothing on the Wilsons. Essie was the daughter of William Lee Bigham and his first wife Annie Kelley Bigham. They are also buried at Steele Creek. I know Essie had at least one sister and two brothers, so if this is familiar to anyone, I would love to hear from you!|

|Comments:||I have just begun checking out the resources available in Mecklenburg County. My great-great-grandfather, John W. Brown, was in this County in February of 1828 and married Mary Herron (some write Harran). They had one son, Samuel, and then Mary died December 31, 1828. He then left and went to Lincoln County, Georgia, where he met my g-g-grandmother. Mary Herron is buried in Steele Creek Cemetery in Mecklenburg Co. and I did find this record. I am thankful to folks like you who build and maintain these websites so we can research our ancestors without having to actually travel there. Thank you, and keep up the good work! Would love to hear from anyone with any connections to the Brown or Herron families.|
