| Comments: | Finally--a website dedicated to the 1970's Mouseketeers! Thank you! The New Mickey Mouse Club helped me get through rather painful and awkward junior high years--in case any of the former Mouseketeers read this, thank you! Seeing you every afternoon after school made my day--best wishes to all of you! My heart goes out to the family and close friends of Angelo Florez. Because of this site, I just found out that he passed away. His sunny smile and sense of humor really added to the show, and he will be missed. He was one of my favorites, along with Lisa, Nita, Julie, and Curtis. I'm happy for Lisa, her family and the success she's been blessed with, and her dedication to the Lord Jesus. Julie's dancing inspired me to pursue dancing while in high school--thanks for the inspiration, Julie (from another Missouri gal!)! Of course, there was Nita--it was fun seeing a person my age at that time on the show. And last but not least, Curtis--I join the list of the girls who had a crush on him at one time or another. He was cute then, and he's just as handsome now! Whoever came up with the idea for this website--it's been long overdue. Thank you! |

| Comments: | Hi, I came across this site when I typed in my son's name. He was in the mini series on the New Mickey Mouse Club. "Mystery of Rustlers Cave". His name was Bobby Rolofson and he played the part of Doug. This was the first time Bobby had worked for Disney. After that he worked on other projects at Disney. North Avenue Irregulars, and Apple Dumpling Gang rides Again. Bobby worked alot and was very popular during that time. He did many commercials, over 50, and a number of other TV guest appearances. On January 14th, 1984 Bobby was involved in a very serious accident and lost his life on January 16, 1984 which was his 16th birthday. He was a very talented and beautiful person. He was loved by everyone that ever met him. I was always told that he was "1 in a million" I always just thought I was a great Mom. Now I know that he was just a great person and I was lucky to be his Mom. I love him and miss him everyday and always look forward to any reruns that might happen to come on. I still see him on Little House, and Chips. Well, thanks for listening and if you find out if any of the Rustler Cave episodes will rerun let me know Ok? Laura (Rolofson) Leslie "Bobby's Mom" |

| Comments: | I loved watching this show as a kid, I had a huge crush on Lisa, and this site brings back some great memories. I was wondering if anyone had the "Mouseketeers at Walt Disney World" special that was just shown on the Disney channel on tape - I read that announcement the day after and I would love to see it. If so, email me at the address above, I'd be glad to pay for a duplicate. |

| Comments: | It's intriguing to me that so many folks remember this show and its 12 stars. Reading all this took me for strange walk down memory lane. I can't believe 25 years ahve gone by! I was living in Anaheim in 1978 during those Disneyland shows. I had it BAD for Kelly (I think everyone did, now that I read all these entries!)My friend and I would go to that show every day we could scrounge up the 9 bucks to buy a "passport" (remember those?) I remember getting a "tip" that all the mice were staying at this motel on Lincoln Avenue. Why? i don't know. You'd think Disney would have put them up in rooms at the next-door Disneyland Hotel. In any case, my friend and I went to this kind-of-dumpy motel. There they were swimming in the pool! Sadly, I didn't have the guts to bug them and introduce myslef. I felt it would be intrusive and rude. But I remember how cool it was just seeing them in this out-of-place setting. Today I'm a musician and songwriter and I still look back on those summer days of 1978. We've all turned into middle-aged adults and I still can't believe it. An era has passed and those warm summer days of 1978 won't come again. As for the Mouseketeers themselves; thanks for that fun summer. We all have fond memories. The silly songs and the disco-era costumes help remind us that we were there once. All of us, collectively, enjoying being careless teenagers. Sorry to hear about Angel...and "Pop's" wife. But thanks for a great walk down memory lane. Ya know, sometimes on stage I STILL think back on those Disneyland days. I just wish I could have met Kelly! ;-) |

We were just entering the theme park and my mother tuned to th radio station that aired the park information. I had always had a crush on the bright eye smile of Shawnte Northcutte. | Comments: | When my kids were smaller we never missed watching The Mickey Mouse Club, now they are into other things, including listening to the new generation of singers that have been exposed to the public through the Mickey Mouse Club. Now, what I am asking I don't know if it would be possible. I met this little girl in Spain and she is a big fan of Mickey Mouse and she desperately wanted his autograph. When she found out that I lived in Florida and could go to Disney World to get it, but even there it could be hard to get a hold of Mickey and I don't know if they all sign in a similar way, or is there a trademark?. I have been surfing on the web to see if there was a poster or something with Mickey's autograph and I could not find anything like it. Do you have something or maybe sending something from the club with a fake Mickey signature would be sufficient(It's going to have to be fake anyway). This will be GREATLY APPRECIATED, Thank You, Raida Lopez |

To this day having even forgotten specific episodes, I still have the memory of that beautiful smile and how I was instantly smitten for life. The New Mickey Mouse Club was the best, and I refuse to watch anything to do with the 90's version. Thank you for this site and all the links. | Comments: | It's been great going back to my childhood through this website, which the New Mouse Club was a big part of. I was a 4th and 5th grader at the time, and I worshipped the ground these kids walked on. In fact, they partly inspired me to take up the saxophone ( since I didn't sing, and felt like an idiot dancing), which I still play to this day. I never missed a show, and I used to fantasize about being a Mouseketeer back then. I think it was the ethnic mix; the fact that it had Black, Brown, and Asian faces(unlike the 50's Mouse club), as well as them being around my age, that I liked. Real sorry to hear about Angel; goes to show that AIDS can happen to anyone. He's with God now. Gotta go; take care and best wishes. Maybe someday I could meet those new mice... |

| Comments: | Well, just decided to try searching to find info on the 70s incarnation of the MMC. A shame the Disney people won't re-run the show on cable or think it'd be worthwhile to release on home video formats. Anywho, if the web master eventually sees this signing, I'd like to mention a few scans I'd like to contribute (lemme know where to send em): From an issue of Scholastic News Explorer or something (I got it in grade schoo!!), the new 70s version of the MMC was on the front page. I also have an article from an issue of Disney Magazine (you got it free for buying a certain brand of soap or something) and it had pics and an article on Allison. I used to watch the show on local cable TV (WUAB 43 in Cleveland) and is the reason I asked for a leisure suit when I was a kid. (I even have photos of that.) I was mad when it was cancelled and wrote to the TV station to complain - I got a reply that actually was probably the first time an adult respected a kid's thoughts and opinions about something and gave me a decent answer. It was also the firs time I wrote to a TV station to complain about something like a favorite show being cancelled. I saved all these little bits of my youth for so long. |

| Comments: | Thanks for the website. Have enjoyed reminiscing. Grew up in Orange County and have a fabulous memory of being a guest at Club 33 (where my brother and I later worked nonconsecutively) AND seeing the mouseketeers performing near Small World and watching them sitting on floats shaped like Mickey Mouse ears riding down mainstreet in a parade, all on the same day. I still have the blurry photos of Julie, Mindy, Pop, Todd and Kelly. I wanted to BE a combination of Kelly, Julie and Mindy. I used to sit in my room and put my red, green or blue ears (Orange is not my color) and sing along to my LP and Disco Mouse 45 until one day my next door neighbor caught me singing my heart out--I was soo embarrassed I hid and made sure my blinds were closed for my future "private singing engagements!" I was "so mad" that I didn't hear about the NMMC casting auditions and, to this day, it (still) ranks as being more disappointing than my not becoming a ballet dancer. My good friend in second grade looked like Mindy (and Mindy is 11 months older than I) so she was my favorite but I always admired Julie's talent, especially her flawless fouttes (spelling?) executed during role call during the Showtime song. I suck at fouttes and can appreciate how talented of a dancer she was/probably still is. Kelly just seemed like a nice, bubbly person. I wanted to LOOK like all three of them. I was so excited when "Facts of Life" premiered when I was in the 4th Grade and was upset when half the ensemble was fired the following season, especially Julie. I saw her years later on a Taco Bell commercial. I enjoyed Scott's voice and thought Todd was the best looking guy on the show, although, at the time, he was quite a bit too old for me! I loved the colorful costumes--so '70's--and years later I wore a jumpsuit and ears to a themed party--it was so much fun! I am so thankful to have grown up in the '70's when children were encouraged to act, dress like and be children!!! I just bought Dickie Robert's former child actor DVD and REALLY empathize with how many former child celebrities were mistreated. I am glad to read online that the cast of the NMMC appeared to survive the transition to adulthood; so fascinating that Corey Feldman, featured in Dickie Robert's and also from Lost Boys and Goonies, is Mindy's little brother. Such a small world (no pun intended). So sorry that Angel and Craig have since passed. |

Almost every day we sing on my Karaoke machine trying to make our voices sound alot better. Me and her love to make up songs and when they are finally even though they are short we then sing them. Gail has a little bit of stage fright but we're working on it. about once a month me and her wish that we could be famouse people some day and hopefully some day it will come true. After we found out about the mickey mouse club, last year we descided that we wanted to be singers and hopefully our dream will come true in the near future!!!!!!!!!!! |

| Comments: | Whoa! What a wave of nostalgia this has brought back. As an 11-year-old when the show started, I was more a fan of the disco mice themselves, from a distance, rather than the show, which I really did not watch much. It came across to me as a bit childish. I was also a little concerned about being "outed" as a NMMC fan - the self-confidence waxed and waned at times. On the outside I saw maybe ten episodes. One of the few things I recall from the show was the song and dance routine with Scott and Lisa (I think) from Disneyland - I believe to the tune "When I'm 64". At the end, Scott kisses Lisa on the cheek. I went insane with jealously! I wanted to kiss here (and for her to kiss me!). I just couldn't watch. Even when the show's content appealed, I couldn't keep my passions under control - another reason I avoided the show. Today I have no television at all, let alone cable TV, so the reruns - when they appear at all - are out of reach. I grew up in Placentia, CA, a few miles from Disneyland. I was a member of the Kramer Jr. High School Marching Band (1977 - 1979) that made regular visits to the Magic Kingdom, so Disneyland was a special and very accessible place. But, for me, it was no place to watch a show! Visits to the Magic Kingdom, although not infrequent, were too precious to waste on shows and parades - rides and attractions were the name of the game. Suffice it to say that I in all probablility visited Disneyland in the summer of 1978, but never watched the show in Tomorrowland - I would have considered it a waste of time. By Easter 1979 my family had moved away from Orange County, I went into High School, and the Disco Mice faded from memory. So why all this nostalgia about a show and people that only tangentally touched on me? I don't know!! But looking back, I think I harbored a secret desire to be like those kids, to be on that show, to have that kind of accessibility to Disneyland, to be a part of such comraderie, to be as good-looking, cute, hip and well-adjusted as they seemed to be. I may not have watched the show, but I would have loved to be on it! Those feelings were probably more intense than I knew at the time. I was still innocent to many ways of the world ("Saturday Night Fever" would have baffled me), but the Mouskateers were accessible, a last reminder of a childhood quickly slipping by into adolesence and puberty. Through them I was looking both back and forward at the same time. Which is probably why it was the mouskateer-ettes that were the real attraction (as alluded earlier), especially Allison and Lisa. I remember deep, sometimes intense, discussions with close friends regarding which Mouskateer-ette was the cutest and most desirable to an 11 or 12-year-old boy. Allison Fonte excited me most. She had wonderful, inviting eyes and seemed a touch demure. The tilt of her head and those short curls in her publicity picture (too bad she let it grow longer later) was more than I could take. She was less bubbly, perhaps a touch more mature, ready to assume some leadership and responsibility. As a very shy boy at the time, I think I felt I could talk to her, if ever we met. I even once wrote a fan letter to her, although I don't know if I ever sent it. I was somewhat obsessed, although not to the exclusion of reality I may say. To know that she went on to graduate from Stanford and is now a business professional and entrpreneur is reassuring - I was in love with a child star with a real, adult future. Same with Lisa Welchel. Lisa was physically VERY attactive and had a very bright personality - she looked at the camera straight on and gave that life-of-the-party look; definitely out of reach for me. How ironic that she was actually somewhat shy!. And like her I am a devout Christian, so it is exciting to know that she and her husband are as devoted to their marriage and family just as my wife and I are to each other and our children: in the name of Jesus. Again, I was (then) in love with a winner. If only I could say that about the real-life girlfriends (and the turmoil they brought) who eventually came my way - until I met my wonderful wife, of course! None of this says much about me today, nor is it meant to contrast them with the others in the cast. Just a little rambling about a TV show, a place, and a few personalities who affected me during a some of the most intense times in my life, in beautiful Southern California, before I made that dash into the world of adulthood. Thanks to all of you who have NMMC websites and keep the show alive. I am a new fan again. |

| Comments: | The 70's MMC was good clean entertainment. I was able to get 2 tapes with about 6 episodes each on them. One of them has the very first episode. I now show them to my children and they love them. I wish Disney would release the show on DVD. Does anyone out there have any episodes recorded? Please contact me. I liked Pop and Shawntee the best because they were positive happy children. Back then there weren't any black children on TV that were not dirt poor living in the ghetto. | Comments: | Thank goodness I'm NOT alone in my revelry! 'Bout time the "lost generation" of Mouseketeers got the credit they richly deserve. As I recall, this was the first attempt by Disney to create a "next generation" of Mouseketeers, and the first to appear IN LIVING COLOR. (A technical leap over their 1955 predecessor.) I first saw this show at the tender age of 9 on a hotel TV in Dallas, Texas, and was sold on it right away. Of all the Mouseketeers in TV history, this was the one directly in my age group. More than anything, I wanted to join them. (Alas, I didn't have THEIR agent.) When "Close Encounters" went big at the box-office, I drew a picture of Todd being taken aboard the Mothership by the little blue aliens. (As soon as I can work the fax on my PC, I try and send it.) I still have the cast album LP, and a Viewmaster 3-pack of the show. Not too long ago during the Disney Channel's "Vault Disney 70's week," a string of NMMC episodes were aired. But they were aired late at night. They only way I could see them was to set the VCR overnight. (BIG cup of coffee!) Best of luck in your crusade, and count me in on your petition! |

| Comments: | Man, I thought I was the only "Mouskegeek" from the 70's but this page is loaded with you guyz!!! Yes , I must admit I loved the show and never missed an episode. In Jr. High at the time a few of us jocks actually had crushes on Lisa, Kelly, Allison and always claimed that our particular "Mouskegoddesses" were the best. Who can forget those 1st few episodes of Facts of life with Lisa W. and Juli P. in the original cast. Boy what memories. I a few of us caught a show at D-land and ran into all of them at a dinner and had many pictures taken with them. It was a blast. |

| Comments: | I'm so glad to see a site dedicated to the New Mickey Mouse Club of the 70's. This site has brought back so many pleasant childhood memories. I, too, was an avid NMMC fan. I loved the show so much that I actually sewed my own pair of Mouseketeer ears. I would sit in front of our tv, wear my homemade ears, sing, and dance along with the Mouseketeers everyday after school (really loved Friday's Showtime intro). Disappointed after they took the show off the air, I remember starting a petition at my small hometown elementary school to get the show reinstated. Great site!!! |
