Comments:Thanks ever-so-much for sharing your stories. I have started to put versions of stories I tell on the web so they can be freely used by others. The stories you wrote allowed me to see a few tales that were new to me. I enjoyed reading them. Thanks! The different variations of the Bear story from other lands was a nice touch. I will call attention to it when I do sessions for local college students who are studying literature. I get called on to do storytelling presentations for them and like to share good sites. Best regards, Mike Lockett AKA - The Normal Storyteller (1 - I live in Normal, Illinois and 2 - I believe it OUGHT to be NORMAL for every person to share stories.)

Comments:Zoe markelster, your comment perplexes me as the Gingerbread Man story is about as true to the standard as it could possibly be.

Comments:To clarify, my version of the tale is neither an interpretation nor retranslation based upon the original Italian. My only acquaintance is with the well-known translation into English. That is why I have on the title page: Rewritten by J. Kearns (in some places considerably, in other places not so considerably, and in others not much at all) from the translation by Carol Della Chiesa of C. Collodi's original story

Comments:I enjoyed the translation you did for Pinocchio. My Italian class is currently translating the book by Collodi, and it is indeed awkward in English from the Italian. When I have finished my translations using my hugh Italian dictionary, I can then read your translation to see how close I am with the direct words by Collodi vs. your interpretation. We will only be able to get to chapter 10 so, I look forward to completing the story on my own. Thanks for your help. jk

Comments:the word rampion popped into my mind and the image was of the Fractured Fairy tale narrated by the inimitable Edward Everett Horton. I enjoyed your story and the entymology of rampion which, knowing the quirky humor of Jay Ward, I assumed was a made up word. Thanx much Herb

Comments:Your site and stories are so wonderfully written. You are by far the best version of Puss n Boots...my son and I thank you! I would love to see a section on the lesson learned or the story moral, this would be a nice addition for the children (and helpful).
