| Comments: | Beautiful site. I didn't know there was such a need for adoption of Dobies. I have two, Lemi and Jagr, both purchased from reputable breeders. I would like a 2ish r/t, c/d dobiegirl and would like to adopt one when available. I have three children under the age of 7 and the dogs are great with them. We live on 5 acres half of which is cleared for them to run although they do spend alot of time indoors especially when it's to hot/cold outside. I would like to eventually foster, but need to finish my schooling first (May 2010). |

A beautiful Red/Rust baby - he was a Prince who had royal blood running through his veins. A true Dobe - loyal, gentle, sweet & needy of all the attention anyone could give him and then some. Thirty five years later, that boyfriend and I are still the best of friends because of Odin. He lived to see his 13th birthday. I am now a DRL Rescue Volunteer and love helping these animals! |

Presently have a neutered female mixed breed which was abandoned at an rv park in N Alabama and I took her in before the local dog control picked her up. She is about 7yrs and spoiled. | Comments: | I am happy to see that there are rescue centers like this one for Dobermans. I lost my doberman two months ago. She was a red/tan female named Dallas. She died of old age. She was 15 years old and the best dog anyone could ever imagine. This is the best breed. Low maintenance, kind and a good protector. I got her from a breeder when she was a puppy. It is very hard living without her. I recently rescued a male dog that is mixed with doberman. He is 13 years old and was at the shelter since he was 4 months old. I thought I would give him a good home for his last days. I will be looking to get another red/tan (cropped ears) doberman female shortly. This breed has received a bad rap. They are awesome dogs! |

My husband and I have a border collie that we adopted 11 years ago and has grayed a lot in last year, she is a great dog. We had an older black lab when we adopted her and she has some great traits to teach the next home dog. Our older dog lived 6 more years when we adopted Gizmo and she took over her duties. I wondered how long foster home where used? I get very attatched to pets and not sure if I could ,be comfortable with coming and going a lot, and fall in love and have the dog gone? Sigh....My sweet Dobie boy Tango passed away suddenly, Sunday oct 19th, 2008, doing what he loved to do best....chase squirrels in our backyard.(No worries, tango couldnt catch a cold....he never caught a squirrel,so I never worried for their safety! I love all animals!). anyway, he fell over right in front of me, and died in my arms. to say I am devastated is an understatement. He was my training partner (we jogged together, he slept in bed with my hubby and I), he went to work with me...all of my colleagues knew and loved Tango too. What a life that boy had! Tango's vet, Dr. Steve Joiner, owner of the animal medical clinic here in melbourne would always brag about how well cared-for Tango was, and what a great Dobie he was. The staff truly loved him too.
