He did not get along with anyone and was found wandering the streets, many people had said he was hopeless. ( I never belived them) some people who said he was hopeless gave up with him and they were going to put him down, until one of my guinnua pigs died and a few years before we had lost our other dog sadly, and our other went to go home with my uncle since we were only watching her for a few years. We all were very upset until my mom called Roberta ( she now to all of us is our grandma we love her very much)!!!! She soon brought us shadow to see if we liked each other! The first few days he did not trust anyone in our house hold but soon only trusted me. He later after a few weeks learned we all loved him and we would never do anything to hurt him!! Shadow is a blue Doberman. Thank you to all the people who belived in him!! And me and shadow both are glad Roberta and a few others never gave up with him!! Now shadow is living a wonderful life with us!! My mom helps with dobe rescue and you should too!! We foster dogs and we (hopefully) always will!! It seems like you won't be able to give them up but once you see where they are going you will be able to!! We love to help dogs and even if you can't donate money or foster there's always something you can do to help!! |

He was fine in the morning, my son said he was walking around the house and barking at whatever needed barking at, this was at 1pm. I came home from work at 3pm, and there he was...gone. Not even 9 yrs old. We rescued him in July of 2004, he blessed us with his love for almost 7 yrs. I miss him dearly and so does my wife. We will be looking to rescue another in the near future. We got Pok Pok at 6 weeks and she was our forever baby kitty, a momma and best friend to Taw Taw we were so sad when she pasted away last year at 19 yrs. We had Pok Pok since she was 6 weeks. Babies mean alot but growing old together is truely happiness.

Lucky was rescued from the FL Doberman Rescue in 2001 and we loved having him every minute of the day. We also have a rescued Pitbull who misses Lucky very much, she is 13 yrs old now and still has some good years left in her but misses Lucky and we are looking to find her a friend that she can "take care of" again. Jessie mothered Lucky on a daily basis and now she wants to mother me, so I want to get her another friend, about 1 yr old, male or female, black/tan, floppy ears and docked tail! We had to put our beloved Tiger down on April 23rd and it still just devastates me even writing about it. He had Lymphosarcoma and we had to do it, before he suffered. He was 10 and we got him at 2 years old - we rescued him (actually STOLE HIM) from a security company, where he spent his days/nights when not working, in a cage in the most deplorable conditions. The Lord had put my husband there as a security guard, where he was drawn to Tiger and Tiger to he, and we went about doing what we could to save him. The past 8 years have been the most wonderful in our lives, mostly due to him. He was the GREATEST boy ever, and now we have a Dobe-sized hole in our hearts and souls, that I sometimes don't think will ever heal. We have already agreed that when we're ready, not only would we like to come to your facility and get some Dobe-lovings, but that we will DEFINITELY adopt from you. We will never own another breed - EVER. And seeing that my beautiful baby boy was the most handsomest-transomest ever (just one of the baby-talk names we gave him!!!), we may get a girl this time. We'll be looking for a Red c/d female - BUT, which ever one picks us will be the one!!!! Or which ever one the Lord leads our hearts to, either way we'll know when the time is right, and which one is for us. May the Lord continue to Bless you for what you do in saving the lives of these beautiful, loyal, intelligent and loving creatures. It's almost a shame that they are NOT for everyone, because they change your lives forever and I wish people could experience what Dave and I have for the past 8 years. :) |

| Comments: | I really enjoyed your site. I had to put my Dobie down yesterday, her rear hips/legs would no longer support her getting up. After working with the vet on various meds, unfortunately she did not respond. It was the hardest thing I ever had to do. She was 10 1/2 & I got her at 3 month. She was a great companion through the years. It is heart wrenching to go through but when I am done grieving my loss - I will come back to your site & most likely find my next dog. I am unable to do it at this time or I would.

| Comments: | I've never had a Doberman before. I've mostly had Shetland Sheepdogs. Recently, after the passing of one of my two Shelties, I decided to get something that won't leave hair tumbleweeds through the house. I'm also a pilot and would love to have something with a little more of an intimidating bark than my Sheltie. I have two girls, 7 and 3, and everything I've read about Dobies tells me they're fantastic with kids and deeply loyal.
I've looked at breeders, but the thought of rescuing is a lot more appealing. If they've not been treated right, they're going to think they've gone to Heaven when they get to my house! I would consider fostering, but I know there is no way I could let one go once they became part of my family. |
