| Comments: | We have traced our Harter ancestors back to Joh. Georg Harter, who appeared with his wife, Eva, and family in the Frederick County, MD Lutheran church records in 1769. However, we have been unable to find him prior to that time. I believe he arrived in Philadelphia as a young man aboard the Phoenix on 15 Sept 1749, but have no confirmation of that. I did find one reference to a Georg Harter and wife as witnesses to a 1760 baptism in the Tulpehocken Lutheran Church. Does anyone have access to tax or other records which might further indicate his presence in Berks County between about 1750 and 1769? |

Drumheller who supposedly died in Catawissa about 1916. and Rose Violet Miller who was born in Forkston (near Catawissa) on Nov 15 1899 and died on May 8, 1926. They were never married but had a child together on Jun 8, 1916. The son's name was Philip J. Drumheller and lived with his mother in Forkston. He is often confused with John Manassah Kinslow who was born in Barron County in 1825. John Madison married Candis Phillips and moved to Pope County Arkansas about 1850. He died there and is buried in the Kinslow cemetery near Appleton, Arkansas. John Manassah married Rhoda Greer. He died and is buried in a Kinslow cemetery in Barron County. | Comments: | WOW! What a great site. I have an ancestor Esther Mogel, born Dec 25, 1818 in Berks County. She moved to Perry Co at age 13. I have quite a bit of info on her from several obituaries. She married Jacob Blank(Plank)in 1840 and had five children, one of them being in my line. The children of Jacob Blank and Esther Mogel are: Edward, Valentine, Susan, David M. and George Washington (my line). Jacob died in 1851 of typhus fever. Esther remarried Daniel Myers of Centre Twp, Perry Co in 1861. She died on Nov 16, 1906 at the home of her home son George Washington Blank in Pottsville, Schuylkill Co. PA. Her parents were Valentine Mogel(Mockel) and Katherine Kline. I have some info on her siblings and parents if there is anyone interested. Bellemans Church is mentioned in relation to Valentine Mogel, but I 'm not sure if it was Esther's father, randfather or uncle. I have an extensive article on Miss Sarah (Sallie or Salome also used) Mogel at age 99. She was born January 22, 1796. The article mentions her father Valentine who conducted a 150-acre farm where Bellemans Church now stands in Center Township,Berks County. The land on which the church now stands belonged to him. Miss Mogel's siblings are: Daniel, Samuel, Valentine, Peter, Harry, Margaret, Catherine, and Elizabeth. Other family names mentioned in this article are:sister Margaret, Mrs. Peter Hoffman; niece Mrs. John L. Moyer; grand niece Mrs. John L. Fisher. I will be happy to share any info that I have. Looking for info up or down in any of these lines. |

She then came to America and lived in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and had two daughters - Jacqueline Ann and Francine Campoll. My mother died in 1959 and my father died in 1976.
