He is very loving; good with children and strangers, but like most Dalmatians requires a lot of love and attention. He has been neutered and has a very mellow temperament and is still quite playful with no health problems.
My own health problems and my need to relocate to help and care for my ageing parents make it necessary to make other arrangements for Domino. I would hate to have to put him down, but if am unable to find him a good home it is a last resort I may have to choose.
Domino is a typical Dalmatian, who tends to whine allot when neglected but is leash friendly (heals well), and he does sit and lay down on command, but has a few bad habits like paper shredding and running off if the gate is left open (although he always returns). He returns affection freely and would make a great pet for someone with the time to attend to his emotional needs.
Please help me find a home for him or refer me to another organization that could help.

Thomas is approximately 3-5 years old. I found him in a US Aid funded animal shelter in Amman Jordan (Middle-East)... He is currently in my home in Jordan but my husband is not a dog lover, like me, and is only allowing me to find a home for him... His bloodline origin comes from the UK (England)... However, he most likely was born in Jordan???
Originally, he had a loving home and a kind master who trained him. I can feel it in his loving and protective character towards me... Sometime later he was abducted, from that loving environment and ended up as a hostage-dog to suffer in a impoverished remote village in the Jordan desert... Most likely he was not feed very well and started scavenging the countryside for food and got his back leg stuck in a fox trap... I do not know if he chewed his leg off to get himself free or what exactly happened to him that tragic day... He has a broken canine tooth and lots of scars on his face... His ear has also been torn... He may have even been used for dog fighting entertainment in the village for all I know??? These heartbreaking signs are animal cruelty at its worst!!!
Although he has several battle scars he is a distinguished Dalmatian soldier/gentleman and deserves a Purple Heart for all the courageous battles he has fought in his lifetime... In as much, Thomas does not let his handicap situation keep him down... I walk him on a daily basis and he basically drags me... I often think my God what would I do if he had all 4 legs ha ha??? He is a very physically capable powerhouse and down right inspiring with his happy can do attitude... Ya gotta love this amazing dog...
I also live in San Diego California during the Summer months and would be happy to get him on a plane with me in June 2007 if there is a loving home waiting for him there...

He has had it good but difficult life. He was hit by a car at two; so I put a "T" plate in his LF leg (it heald well, I had the plate removed.) Two years ago Willy needed a TPR in LR knee so a plate was put in. During this ordeal I pulled my back, and was finding it hard to help william in and out of the car. On 2/3 this year (the day before my birthday) William had a kidney stone so I had the best and most exstream care taken for Willy, he my best friend(he's fine now). (I'm crying now.) So I hurt my back again. I can't take care of him any more. I'm in a bad way and need help now! William is a great guy, he smiles offen sometimes he tells jokes, He speaks human well and most of all he is a very good friend and will love you with all his hart. He was to be euthanized and is now being fostered here. He is heartworm clear and is current on all of his vaccines. He is housebroken and is on medication for thunderstorm phobia. He needs a fenced in yard to run and play in. He has shown intermittent episodes of inter dog aggression. He may do great with other dogs, but would be much happier as in an only dog household. He is good with people and with kids. Has been exposed to cats, but not for extended periods.

I intended to take him to low kill animal shelter, but once I got to know him I didn't have the heart. He is a truly wonderful, wonderful dog. He doesn't bark, is cat friendly, isn't hyper and is so amazingly loving. Definitely none of those negative Dal characteristics you hear about. Very special. I live in an apartment with two cats and due to financial and space constraints cannot keep him permanently.

Oh my goodness!!! I am the owner of 3 dogs - one of them is a DAL - if it weren't for the fact that my city prohibits having more than 3 - I would foster these babies in a heart beat... I've had as many as 3 dals, at the same time - even raised/trained a deaf girl who died just 2 months ago from cushings... :-( I'm a TOTAL Dal lover - and just want to do SOMETHING to help!
I have come across 3 dalmations - a 6 year old Male, who's crying his heart out in the Orange County Shelter in the city of Orange, CA on The City Drive, and a 3 year old brother/sister pair that cannot be separated that have been in the Huntington Beach animal shelter since Octobe of last year!! They both look SO depressed, and are SO cute!!

He has the most dashing black spots and the sweetest chocolate brown eyes. He is a 12 year young sweetheart who is spending his days hanging out at the Humane Society in San Diego. His ID # is A5110522.
Leroy is 12 year young Dalmatian who, while enjoying the loving care of the staff at the Humane Society needs a home where he can snuggle up with someone on a cold day. He loves to give sweet kisses and enjoys watching 101 Dalmations. Leroy stole my heart, as I went there to see him after seeing his mug on the Societies' adoption pages. And if I didn't already have an 11 year old Dal who thinks he owns our condo, I would snatch Leroy up in a minute.

Mike and his sister Molly were brought to the Lawrence Humane Society because their family was moving into a smaller house. This family purchased them from a breeder 8 years ago and had them their entire lives. Mike and Molly love people and attention and are very healthy dogs, although they have lost some weight since they've been at the shelter. Even though they were outside dogs in their previous home, they try very hard to keep their run clean and go potty as soon as they get outside, so they would probably do well with housebreaking. Mike and Molly have both already been altered. These dogs love each other very much and have been together their whole lives. Molly is very insecure without Mike and is a little shy with strangers at first, but she is very sweet. Mike loves Molly but he isn't sure about other dogs, but he really likes people too. They have been at the shelter a very long time and would love to find a family who would give them a loving home together. The only reason they were never adopted was because the shelter is trying to place them together.

Too bad they did not take care of their investment. Max will be graduating with his basic obedience and agility certificate soon, and will be looking for a family to call his own. This big boy is one of the prettiest cry-babies we have seen, and is an excellent house-dog. he is active, and needs a vigorous daily walk, and would suit someone athletic as well. He is fine with children and female dogs. He is not so great with other large males in his domain, needing to assert himself.
If you are a fan of the needy, vocal, beautiful type of Dal, our Max is for you.

My name is Patches. I am a house-trained Dalmation. I do require a little brushing up on social skills and training. She does get along with other dogs and once comfortable with them plays nicely with them. She is housebroken. She seems to be in great health overall - no evidence of skin problems. She definitely hears and I didn't see any evidence to suggest she might be unilateral. Also, she is a quiet dog who rarely barks without reason and responds to the "quiet" cue when she does bark.
Dolly would be a very good performance prospect for agility, freestyle or obedience. My first take is that once she bonds she will be a very willing worker. She's one of those dogs who really does want to please - she's very cuddly and craves attention in a big way. She is a verrrrry quick learner. She's very light on her feet and structurally looks really good - she's a great athletic candidate.
Dolly is a little bit shy with new people and needs a bit of remedial work in that respect. The good news is that she's got a sound basic temperament, great bounce-back and warms up to people via treats. With a basic program of socialization she should overcome this without too much difficulty.
I have no doubt that she would be well worth the effort for anyone wanting a performance Dal. And it goes without saying, but I will - she'd make a great pet.

I have taken a few classes on training the deaf pup and it's going pretty well. I crate trained her in three days, and she almost 100% on housebreaking! she now goes to the door every time she needs to go! She has a little trouble in the morning or after she wakes up from a nap, but this sort of bladder control is understandable for her age. I have nursed her back to health and she looks 100% better than when she came to me. Hopefully, we can find her a home because I cannot keep her. Please help...

My name is Angela and I am heavily involved (administratively) in pug and American Bulldog rescue in Ohio. Today, while driving down route 63, I spotted (no put intended) a dal trying to cross through heavy traffic. I pulled over and was able to keep the dal on one side of the road. He was very scared, tail tucked, backing away barking, whining and growling. I happened to have my own dogs in the car at the time, so I borrowed the leash from my AB and I sat in the grass talking softly to him. After about 20-min I got him to come to me and when he finally did he was the friendliest little devil. I took him to the Butler County Humane Society and I let them know that I would contact you all.
He interacted well with my dogs for the short time they saw eachother (I didn't have him ride with my dogs - I had to call someone for assistance). I hope that someone can at least call the shelter and make sure that he is up for adoption, and give them a point of contact in case he is in danger of being euthanized. Please let me know the status of your decision on him if you can. Thanks for your help.

At the point of my rescue they were basically in starvation. I have tried to fatten them back up and wormed them. I already have 2 small dogs and 3 small grandchildren I am raising so I cannot keep these dogs.I want them to go to an absolutely loving home.

She has a great, loving, loyal personality. She is very well behave, house trained, mild mannered but energetic when appropriate. She would do best as an only dog, but gets along fine with cats. She is a rescued Dalmatian from Town Lake Animal Center in Austin, Texas. She was guardian surrendered due to not having enough time for her. She is in foster care now.

We removed her from a home where she was locked in a garage, neglected, and under fed. She has none of the typical dalmatian problems. She will make a fine addition to a loving home. We already have a dog, if we didn't we would keep her. The 35 lb. Dalmatian is twice the size of our little dog (17 lbs.) and this makes it impossible to keep her.

She is fully trained, spayed, and just waiting for a loving home. Her owner had a stroke and had to surrender her because he was no longer able to care for her. She is just perfect. I will be heading to Dallas, TX in the next couple of weeks and would be happy to bring her to a rescue group or indiviual then. I am going back to California January and CANNOT take her with me; I have nowhere to keep her there and will be forced to take her back to the shelter if not adopted. But I had to at least try....
